Exceptional”
We found our room at the Hotel Grand Pacific to be a good size, and well equipped. The location was excellent, the staff very pleasant and helpful, and the cost of Breakfast very reasonable. In terms of cost, Most Singapore Hotels are expensive, however we were able to book Hotel Grand Pacific when it was available on a better deal than the normal price. This would be our first choice for Hotels for future visits to Singapore, as long as we could get a similar deal to that which we had on this visit.
Amazing location, huge rooms, kind and helpful staff”
I spent 4 nights at the Hotel Grand Pacific with my husband who uses a wheelchair. The hotel is completely accessible with the exception of the pool and laundry. The rooms are large. All rooms only have a shower over a bath with no roll-in facilities. We found the staff to be exceptionally helpful. There is a wheelchair lift to ascend the 4-5 steps in the lobby and the staff were always very quick and helpful to support us to use this. The location of the hotel was better than we expected. It is centrally located to several MRT stations (Bugis, Bencoolen, City Hall) and, if you don't mind the heat, is a pleasant walk to Clarke Quay, the National Museum or the Singapore Flyer/Bayfront area. It was fantastic to have a self-service laundry at the hotel. Even through the hotel is older, it was clean, in an amazing location and has great staff. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
Singapore Post-Cruise Stopover - 4 Nights Jan 2017.”
We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Hotel Grand Pacific. The room was large and well appointed. It was clean with complimentary bottled water supplied. We had a partial view of the Singapore Flyer and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and could not be faulted. Breakfast was a full international buffet with loads of fresh choices for the budget price of AU$11.70 per person. The hotel is close to many famous locations including: Raffles Hotel, Clarke Quay, Canning Fort and many more. There are 3 MRT stations within 650 metres of the hotel. The closest one, Bras Basah, was only about 300 metres away. Public transport made it very easy and inexpensive to travel to all sightseeing locations in Singapore. We would recommend this hotel to all travellers to Singapore.
No frills & well-located near museums & shops”
We use the Hotel Grand Pacific for an overnight stay when flying internationally out of Singapore. It's about 3 blocks from a direct subway line to/from the airport. The hotel has heavy Chinese wood furniture, but is predictably clean and refreshing with a little used pool/garden area. The location is superb -- near museums, a park, and shopping. There is a food center/market directly across the street and the Bugis market area has lots of store-front restaurants; enjoyed the lunch special at one that goes until late afternoon. There are 2 sitting areas in the lobby separated by the front desk, so it's been possible for my husband to meet some business colleagues there. Overall it's a versatile hotel in a great location with bland rooms.
Great Place to Stay”
The Hotel Grand Pacific is in a very convenient area of Singapore, between Raffles Hotel and Bugis Street. We looked on to Raffles Hotel from our hotel room on the 14th level. The room was spacious and clean and the hotel is in a very good area with lots of restaurants and shops within a couple of minutes walking distance. The hotel is very close to two metro stations, making it easy to get around. We would stay here again when in Singapore.
"Lovely hotel and service with a smile"”
Had a truly pleasant experience with Hotel Grand Pacific. Arrived in Singapore at 3.15AM in the morning (guess which flight I took) and took a taxi to get to the hotel. The taxi driver said hotel check-ins in Singapore are all 24/7, so I believed him. Guess what, I arrived in the hotel at around 4.30AM only to find out that check-ins are only open at 2PM in the afternoon. But the nice and polite staff actually helped me out and let me check-in at 7AM without any extra charge. I was truly impressed. And every morning I always met at least 2 of the employees (the cleaning staff especially) greeting me with warm, polite 'good morning' that I hardly found anywhere else. The room was nice and cosy, bathroom was nothing fancy but still comfy. The only thumb down was the paint on the ceiling was somehow cracked pretty badly and I found a lot debris on my luggage and on the table (this is Room ) - once they get this fixed, then it's an easy 10/10 for them. I just love this hotel, alright.
A Winner for Price, Food and Location”
My third stay at this well located hotel in the heart of Bugis. This time for one night only. Like previous visits the staff was attentive and courteous whether at check-in, check-out or for queries. The room 617, a Deluxe Twin, at the rear of the building faces the Royal at Queens Hotel. These rooms a reasonably spacious. Bed was firm and comfortable. Sheets looked clean. Bathroom on the aged side, but clean. Furniture as in my previous visit dated, but used to them now. So if you’re not too concerned about this and want a good buffet breakfast in a well located and reasonably priced hotel, the Grand Pacific is a good choice.
good location”
i always fond of bugis area while in singapore. it's not as crowded as orchard, not as fancy as clark quay, but it is just right to enjoy the real singapore! whether you like to enjoy foods, shops, sightseeings, or culture, you could find them just around bugis area. and stayed in grand pacific hotel was a perfect choice ! it's near to bugis street to bargain shops, it is also near to raffles city the fancy malls and it is just right to cityhall mrt station to continue exploring singapore. to my surprise is the room in grand pacific is spacious compared to other hotels i ever stayed.
Great art location and garden pool”
hotel grand pacific is conveniently located in the "art" district and within walking distance of the bugis mrt (direct to airport). nearby are sam, national museum, philatelic museum, and even the asian civilizations museum (a bit of a hike). directly across the street is a hawkers-type food court if you don't want to eat at the hotel's fish restaurant or cafe. their small pool in a lovely garden setting on 2 levels can accommodate 2 - 3 lap swimmers. we had no hassles with a noon check-in. our room had heavy wood carved furniture including a cabinet for the refrigerator instead of the modern furniture depicted online. i’d stay at this hotel again due to the location and charming pool.
Upgrade to Premium Room!”
Thank you Grand Pacific Hotel's lobby staff for upgrading my standard room to Premium floor! Room was superb big and clean. Bathtub. Comes with a phone with a sim card that can call out for 8 countries +roaming includes data. Awesome breakfast! Helpful staff was sharing me direction to walk around Bugis area. Shopping mall is just 5 mins walk. Easy to get cab or walking distant to mrt. Disable friendly. Will definitely return for my next trip to Singapore! Thank you! Keep it up!
A nice hotel”
This hotel is located in the vicinity of Bugis, an area with a nice mix of good eateries/restaurants, shopping complexes and vibrant cultural scenes. My room looks as if it's newly renovated and it has all the facilities that will make the stay comfortable (many of which I didn't even use). The service of the bellboy is top-notch and I really appreciate the availability of a proper luggage storage service (not just an unguarded storage room) since I had a late flight on the day of departure. However, Hotel Grand Pacific is not a cheap hotel. I was lucky to find a room on heavy discount so I'm not sure if I would pay for its normal rate.
Great Location, Great Hotel”
I stayed at Hotel Grand Pacific for two weeks during Christmas. While the hotel is old, the beds are very comfortable (although the mattress could be hard for some), the rooms are large and there’s a bath to soak in after a long day of shopping. The staff are wonderful, especially Hayley and Celine. The position is great - a couple of minutes to Bras Basah MRT, and 5-8 minutes walk to both Bugis Street and City Hall MRT stations. The pool area, although small, is sparkling clean with plenty of towels. A wonderful place to stay. I will definitely stay there again.
Perfect stay for a very good price”
We went to see a show at Jubilee Hall, the theatre at Raffles Hotel, and wanted a nice place to stay without paying an unrealistic price. Grand Pacific is perfect, smack in the middle of Singapore city centre. Museums, malls, shops and the river area are all walking distance from the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and perfect for our stay. We did not have breakfast at the hotel as we wanted to explore restaurants in the area. Parking is available in the basement.
Worth the money but bad internet service”
First time to stay in Hotel Grand Pacific in Singapore. It was definitely a good stay.. everything was good except the very poor internet service. Knowing that Singapore has one of the best internet services, I am not sure why the hotel's is acting up. I literally had to stay behind the door to get a signal. I asked help from the reception but no use. The tv channels needs to be updated as well. All local channels. Good thing I downloaded my own movies in my computer to be amused. I must also commend Velu, the doorman I think he is the nicest and most helpful in the hotel. breakfast buffet everyday is always something to look forward too. I would definitely go back but I hope they culd update the internet and TV.
An old favourite”
We have just had our fourth or fifth stay at the Grand Pacific (formerly Allson) and it did not disappoint. Given the price of hotels in Singapore, the Grand Pacific is a good mid-range property in an excellent location. Unlike other reviewers we did not encounter any problems with either the room or the staff. We arrived around 9am after an overnight flight from Europe and were greated by the very efficient front desk staff who quickly organised access to our room which was much appreciated. Our room on the 11th floor was spotless and very comfortable. Apart from breakfast we did not eat at the hotel as there is just so much good food available within a five minute walk of the the hotel.
Very pleasant stay with toddler ”
We have lived in Singapore and visit often to catch up with familty. We chose the Grand Pacific for its location, affordable prices and because it has a swimming pool - a must for my 3 year old son. The Grand Pacific is a very unpretentious but comphortable hotel in a fantastic location. The room is well appointed, the bed comphortable and the room has everything you need for a short stay. The bathroom was quite old and somewhat beyond its glory days but thoroughly clean and working. We vistited the pool with my son. We were the only patrons. The pool area is again unassuming, somewaht aged but clean and does provide a nice cool down.
Good Hotel at the Center of Everything”
Hotel Grand Pacific is centrally located to shopping areas and tourist attractions. Bras Basah MRT Station is approx. 300m walk from the hotel which is so convenient if you would like to go to Harbour Front MRT Station( For Sentosa attractions) and BayFront MRT Station(for Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay). Bugis MRT station is also quiet near approx. 600m walk. Convenient connection from the airport and also if you would like to go to Raffles MRT Station( for Merlion Park). Bugis shopping area is also nice where you can buy some souvenir items. Staffs are also friendly, from the Concierge and Housekeeping. The only downside are the buffet breakfast which is too expensive(26SGD per person per meal). The price is high with limited options. There are few restaurants and fastfood near the hotel. This would be a better option for breakfast. You might spend only 3 to 6SGD(Mcdonalds breakfast). Another downside is the clogged bathroom sink. The water goes down very slow even if you only washed your hands. Overall, I still like this hotel, and probably, we can go back again next time.
Great hotel with good location in city”
My stay in Hotel Grand Pacific was great. It was near to our Singapore HQ in Middle Road, so just a few minutes walk. Room was great at 16th floor, quiet and relaxing after a day's work. Bed has crisp sheets, cool aircon. It had a desk for me to work, TV and fridge for relaxing. The hotel restaurant offers discount for ala carte dishes ordered for hotel guests.
Comfortable hotel in Bugis area.”
As a return guest I always stay here in the Grand Pacific with much pleasure. The staff is friendly, check-in goes smooth and efficient, the rooms are spacious, very quiet due to double glass walls, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom is complete and comfy. Breakfast offers a wide range of dishes. In short, a good hotel in a very lively area of Singapore, I will be back for sure!!
Very Central Hotel. Access to buses, trains, shops”
The hotel was very central to everything you wanted in Singapore. The pool was a perfect temperature. The work out room tiny with treadmill only. Close to buses, trains, shops and foodhalls, plus walking distance to Kampong Glam, Little India, Orchard Road and The Raffles.A short bus ride to China Town, Clarke Quay. The stewards at the front desk were very helpful and informative. I would stay at the Htel Grand Pacific if staying in Singapore again.
