I stayed here for two nights (though I had to leave early on the second night for personal reasons). 1) The location is great—close to the Ferry Building and FiDi, with lots of restaurants nearby. 2) There are plenty of third-party parking lots. 3) The room was clean enough for the price; the bed and pillows were comfortable. 4) Most importantly, the staff at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful. Juan, in particular, was the best I've ever encountered—super nice, professional, and attentive to customer needs. He truly made my stay pleasant. I’ll definitely be back as long as Juan is at the desk!

It's a nice small boutique hotel but the bed and pillows were very comfortable. They also have free breakfast and coffee/tea in the morning. Front desk stored my luggage before checkin time of 3pm but you can pay extra to check in early. Very quiet, room was cool and I slept well. There are many restaurants nearby (one on property), my favorite is the dim sum restaurant Yank Sing across the street. Near water, the view is great from the pier!

My husband and I stayed in the standard queen room for 7 nights. I chose the Hotel Griffon as every sightseeing place is within walking distance. If you prefer to walk and don't mind 3-5 km per day, the Hotel Griffon is located in a safe area, and visit major museums and parks pleasantly on foot. You don't need to worry about bumping into homeless people or druggies. Hotel Griffon provides fresh coffee, tea, and delicious pastries every morning from 7 to 10 am. It was free of charge and good quality. The hotel staff are kind and friendly. Particularly the hotel manager, Ann does her best to listen to hotel guests and to provide the best service possible. Her communication was always prompt. Having Perry's Embarcadero restaurant on the ground floor was convenient. The quality of food and services was very good. A piece of information to share with future customers, 1. if you prefer a spacious room, room 405 might not be the right choice for you. It is quiet but small. 2. Please don't think that Agoda offers the cheapest price. I found that Hotel Griffon can offer a better price than Agoda. Please check and compare both websites. 3. Be aware of a daily amenity fee which is not mentioned clearly. Many hotels in San Francisco charge an amenity fee. I have to say that the Hotel Griffon charges cheaper amenity fees than other hotels. Overall, we enjoyed staying at Hotel Griffon.

I stayed there for one evening and the very first thing I experienced was a woman at check-in who was extremely welcoming. I really appreciated that. The hotel is in a great location - lots of interesting things nearby. The rooms are small but completely adequate and very very clean. They have a restaurant that is very popular. P.S. Don't forget to bring money to tip the cleaning staff as they don't have cash at the front desk.
