Exceptional”
When my husband told me that he booked a 2-star hotel, I have to say I was a reticent. However, when we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised! The staff was friendly and helpful and kept our luggage after check-out which was greatly appreciated! They provided us with a map and told us about the restaurant hours etc. Although, we did not drive, this location has many parking spots. The room was quite large (by Japanese standard) though it is important to note that you sleep on a futon on tatami mats (which we didn’t mind at all but might not be for everyone). The room was very clean and provided a great view! The only issue was that the bath didn’t drain so well. It is about a 7-minute walk to Gora station. Everyone keeps mentioning how all restaurants close at 6pm but if you’re ready to walk a short 15-minute north-east (towards Chokokunomori station – or take a one-stop train ride from Gora to Chokokunomori), you will find Kappeizushi which is some of the best sushi we had in Japan. Their Chirashi-zushi (rice topped with assorted sashimi) is absolutely delicious. This place closes at 9pm. Not too far from there, close to the Lawson, Gyoza Center offers amazing gyoza! This place closes at 8pm. Finally, if you are a foodie, Itoh dining by Nobu is a MUST and a 5-minute walk from e-Rooms. We also recommend visiting the Open-Air Museum. We really enjoyed it! It’s a 20-minute walk from e-rooms (or one-stop train ride away). We STRONGLY recommend getting the Hakone Free Pass. This pass can be purchased from any Odakyu stations and offers unlimited usage of the Hakone Tozan Railway (Odawara-Gora), the Souzan Cablecar and Hakone Ropeway between Gora to Togendai, the Hakone Boats on Lake Ashinoko, and most buses. We fell in love with Hakone and e-Rooms provided a very comfortable and enjoyable stay!

Weekend in Hakone”
We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Hakone Gora Tabibito no Yado e-Rooms. It surpassed our expectations. We were 2 adults plus two children (3yrs and 1yr). The apartment was clean and furnished with all basics. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. I will be recommending this hotel to friends. Perfect inexpensive place for a family to stay while exploring Hakone. There is no restaurant nor onsen, but this is perfect for those just looking for a place to sleep. We were pleasantly surprised that it still included yukata, slippers, and coffee/tea makings in the room. The futon wasn't the most comfortable but it was adequate.

Great family room”
The location is quite a distant and uphill from Gora Station. It's better to take the cable car and stop at Koen-Kami station. With hakone pass, it's free anyway. Drop off the station and walk to the hotel, passing the museum of arts. There's a stair case down before you reach the hotel. The family room comes with 2 separate rooms inside. It has kitchenette and the place is clean. Gora is a good place to stay over if you are in Hakone. You can continue with the cable car to Owakudani and Togendai. We arrived in the morning, drop our luggage in the hotel and came back in the evening. Make sure you return before dark to Gora Station and get your dinner before going back to hotel. There's no nearby place to eat. Even at Gora Station, most restaurants close early.

Exceptional”
This place is basically a service apartment and the condition inside the room is relatively new. The hotel manager is really kind and gave us map then explained us about places around the area including where to buy food/supply. Actually, It is better to make sure that you get prepared for food supply before get into the place so you can just stay there and relax after. (Or you'll have to walk at least 10 mins to reach the closest convenient store). Also, better to store your luggage somewhere before going up the hill (we stored ours overnight in locker at Hakone-Yumoto station). You'll have to walk up slope so I'm not recommend this place for elderly or group with lots of bags that cannot leave them behind during their stay.

Memorable visit”
The hotel is accessible from gora as well as koen-shimo. Walking from gora was a bad idea as the roads are almost 60+ degrees upslope. With little children and loads of luggage this was not the smoothest. There is a 7eleven convenience store nearby. Rooms come with kitchen facility and practically all necessities for a family. The bedroom has Japanese style sleeping arrangements and therefore no cots. This was unique and pleasurable. We didn't try to dine in and therefore no comments on the food facilities. The rope way line towards hakone is very easily accessible from koen-Shimo. The only low point is that the hotel expects a 10 AM checkout and allows for check in (seems to be the standard Checkin time) of 3 PM.

Clean - Spacious - Complete Amenities - Nice staff - Good Location”
Very clean and spacious room with complete amenities and facilities. Hotel staff nice and amazing. Location is good (take cable car, second stop from Gora station), we even walked to Gora station after checked out with luggage without any problem. There is a bus stop nearby to go around the town. Would love to stay here again next time we visit Hakone

Perfect for round loop and open air museum”
Very good location at walking distance (about 10 min, or less of by cable car) from Gora station, making it an easy starting point for the Hakone loop. Also close to the Open air museum. The hotel itself is very good value for money, with spacious rooms, kitchenette and refrigerator, tea, coffee and even some traditional shirts to change to.

cozy place and great staff”
I love this place, calm and clean, fresh air. it's easy to go to hotel from gora station, you must travel by hakone tozan cable car and off at koen shimo station. (take off the train on right hand door) after take off then walk up to the road and you will see the sign e-room so walk in a minute then turn left to hill on mini-road. finally you will find the hotel. it's first time for me to sleep in the Japanese style so I can't do the right bed sheet but can sleep. the important thing you need to find something to eat before 18.00 because all shop and restaurant will close at 18.00 but there are some mini-mart open until 21.00 (just ask the hotel staff, they will help you to find out where it is) for tourist destination, everything is for naturalist. many things to discover.

Cozy and Spacious”
Rented a ground floor 2 bedroom apartment on our trip to Hakone. The location was near the Hakone Tozan cable car and easy to access. Apartment amenities were complete and the place could fit 4 people and still spacious. Wifi is readily available as well a fully functional kitchen. Would stay here again!

Great location, excellent apartment ”
The location is really great. The customer service is awesome. The apartment is well equipped. On the day of departure, we requested a taxi to Gora station but instead the owner called for his staff to send us personally to the station. We miss Hakone so much. If there is another opportunity, we will definitely come back to e-room.

Good location, good rooms, highly recommended.”
The hotel is very easy to get to provided you follow the advise of other reviews on this site - get off the cable train at Koen Kami then it is a fairly short walk along a level road and then downhill. The Google Maps location is accurate and there is an E-Rooms sign where you need to turn left off the main road. As stated by other reviewers it is some distance to restaurants and the supermarket and these close early as does the cable railway so you need to plan for dinner unless you want to walk uphill. Reception was extremely helpful. The room was well equipped and very clean. The Wifi ws very fast. The only minor complaint is that I am a Westerner and found the futon on the floor a bit hard but ok. I would stay here again.

Great location. No lifts. ”
Location was great, especially for those who are self driving hakone area. It's 5 mins from Sounzan Ropeway station, allowing u to just bypass the cable car and buses. Room was unbelievably clean. Only issue was the lack of lifts to the 3rd floor, but bo pian trade off lah.

Pleasant stay”
Awesome place to stay in Hakone. Room is spacious with many appliances. Clean as well. Just a note, this area is dead after 6pm so make sure you settle your dinner elsewhere!

Pros and cons”
We reached the place late in the evening and under the rain. After checking in at the main hotel, we had to walk down the slope towards the annex which I slipped and fell due to the slippery pathway. There was a short staircase leading down but then, the remaining walk was on tar road without any hand rail. Therefore, the annex hotel is not recommended for young children and elderlies. Also, it is quite a distance to surrounding shops. So, it is advisable to buy in advance before getting to the hotel. Other than that, the 2 nights stay were cozy and satisfying.

Don't choose this hotel if you are not backpacker ”
I did not travel there in Backpacker style, so I had heavy and large luggage with me. The location of the hotel became a nightmare to me. After I checked in, I took my luggage to walk stairs to the Annex, and then, walk 3 floors to my room. I traveled in Summer, so I sweated a lot after taking luggage to the room. The room was very big. There were a kitchen and a washing machine. The resturant is excellent.

Fantastic room, perfect getaway without baggage or self drive”
It was quite a far walk and down this long flat of steps to reach eRoom from Koen kami station. It was a terrible and frustrating experience to walk from station to eRoom in the heavy rain, on steep hilly slippery uneven road conditions with 2 big heavyweights luggage, a stroller and 2 young child. Recommend to have luggage delivered to eRoom from Hakone Yumoto station. Unfortunately we reached the baggage delivery center at 1pm and it was closed. We had our stuffs delivered to yumoto station when we left eRoom. It was a breeze to travel baggage free. We booked and paid for ground floor room but were given 2nd floor when check in. it was not appreciated because we already foreseen we needed ground floor due to our kids and lots of stuffs we have. The lady receptionist just simply explained ground floor is all reserved for the elderly despite our actual booking and payment made beforehand. Side note after climbing and carrying our heavy stuffs up 2nd floor, there are more steps to climb before reaching the room. The lady receptionist is either not familiar with the area or she just being unhelpful to us. We asked any onsen nearby eRoom and she told us all has closed for the day, it was about 3.30pm. Later at 5pm we walked to Gora station and happened to meet a station staff, named Robert who gave us so much information about eateries, a restaurant about 5 mins walk from Gora station that closed at 9pm. Robert also recommended Gorakan onsen, just beside the station where we had our private open air onsen experience as family. We felt the Gora station staff, Robert has no obligation to us but provided a better service than eRoom receptionist where we stayed for 2 nights. The room is well equipped, super spacious, clean and new. It is very well maintained. Even has a washing machine inside the room. The Wifi is very fast. The futons are soft and thick and many layers. Bedding is definitely much comfortable compared with previous futons i have slept in other place

Spacious room and high speed WIFI”
Very quite and peaceful place to stay. Pros: 1) Spacious 2 rooms apartment 2) Near to Hakone Tozan Cable Car station Koen-Kami and Koen-Shimo 3) walking from Gora Station around 10mins but up hill. 4) high speed Wifi in room 200+MB Cons: 1) No Lift, so if you bring big luggage will be problem to the from or walk from station 2) Tozan Cable car services will end by 1900 so if you coming back late you need to walk from Gora Station 3) no reception at apartment, need to goto Hotel reception where need 5 mins up hill from apartment. 4) no restaurant nearby, and that is only Convenience Store (Daily Yamazaki) was located near Koen-Shimo station where need 10mins walk from apartment

Good price with good service and comfort hotel”
Though the hotel quite near the Koen kami station, the pointer at google map is wrong, that make us spend a lots of time to find the hotel. You should type the hotel address instead of the name of hotel to find the exact location of the hotel. Apart from this, everything is good in the hotel. However, there are no any food store nearby but the staff of the hotel is so kind to drive us to buy a food at Lawson department store. I will return the hotel as it is a comfort hotel.

Excellent”
Location is close by Gora Station, walking distance to Gora Park as well, very accessible. We were upgraded to a bigger room and we are very thankful for that. If traveling with small children request for rooms on the first floor because there are no elevators. Apartment was supplied with basic cooking utensils and soap as well as for doing laundry. Rooms just need a little bit of cleaning as the mats smelled especially early in the morning. Otherwise, good price, good location, professional staff, and would definitely go back.
