amazing india, amazing hotel, amazing location, am”

great staff, great location, great food,

we stayed at the hotel for a week this time and have stayed at this hotel 3 timed s in the past 3 years. we have tried others in delhi but choose to come back to hari piorko, and will continue to stay there at our future trips to delhi. since we started to stay there the hotel has been continually upgraded and renovated and is coming along great and looking fabulous. from its marble floor and fittings to the new bamboo ceilings it looks great. the staff are always on hand to help and offer assistance for any matter, even the owner and his son are always around offering help and advice in all matters and are very helpful, attentive friendly and polite. the hotel itself is located right in the heart of pahar ganj, main bazarr you step out of the dor and caught up in the india experience that we all love from monkeys to cows to wedding processions...amazing.!!!!!! the roof top restauran has the most amazing food that we have tasted in india, we have eaten at many places there but none as good, yum and never been sick

Great location and quiet rooms”

Soft beds, quiet rooms, on the main bazaar, nice staff, good restaurant

Being the first hotel I have booked in another country (India at that!), I was a bit nervous what this hotel would be like (especially since it was a very reasonable price!). I was happily surprised at my stay at the Hari Piorko- in fact, I absolutely loved it! It was in a great location where I could stroll along the bazaar's shops and explore the surroundings sights without having to go to far. I especially loved that even though the hotel was located on a busy, bustling street, the noises could not be heard from the rooms! I was also pleased with the comfy beds (so soft compared to some of the hard beds I experienced throughout Rajasthan on a tour through India). I visited the restaurant often as well- the Chinese noodles and masala chai were especially tasty. As I was staying at the Hari Piorko during Holi, I found this to be a great hotel and location to take part in the festival. The restaurant terrace was a great place to observe what was happening on the streets before venturing out into the fun. I have absolutely no complaints about the Hari Piorko and would absolutely recommend this hotel and would stay here again upon returning to New Delhi.

Excellent clean hotel”

friendly staff, room are spacious and clean

My husband, myself, and our 10 month old son had a good stay for one week at Hari Piorko. Its centrally located, and the staff is very frienly and helpful. The rooms are as they appear in the pictures - pretty spacious, with an aquarium that adds a lovely touch. Its one of the more quality hotels in Pahar Ganj (the backpacker area of Dehli), and a good value for the price. The staff even arranged access to a refrigerator for baby supplies, which was much appreciated. The upstairs restaurant is tastey with a lovely rooftop setting, but slightly more expensive compared to other restaurants in the area. The restaurant does room service. The rooms are not 100% toddler friendly - the flooring is marble, there is one spot where the air conditioning is that has electrical outlets within toddler reach, and the staircase in the common area has hazardous gaps if the child leaves the room. Overall, you can make the room baby-proof, but you cannot let the child into the hallways unattended. Overall, we had a great stay, and would recommend this hotel to other travelers.

Walking Distance from New Delhi Railway Station”

Location, Budget Pricing

hotel hari piorko is less than 10 minute walking distance from new delhi railway station. hotel is located on main bazaar road in paharganj. main bazaar road is a very busy congested street (like most of old delhi streets) but with an exceptionally large number of international pedestrian tourists during the day. i agree with wikipedia's opinion on paharganj. "paharganj is known for its concentration of affordable hotels, lodges, restaurants, dhabas (roadside indian eateries) and a wide variety of shops catering to both domestic travellers and foreign tourists, especially backpackers and low-budget travelers". hari piorko is a budget hotel with large, clean comfortable beds, refrigerator, hot water etc. each hotel room also includes a small fish tank (tank is clean and fishes appear to well fed). one neat feature was that you could leave the fish tank light on at night instead of a regular night lamp.

Very close to metro, helpful staff, noisy”

Friendly staff, prompt service, close to attractions

This was my first visit to India and Pahar Ganj. After the chaos of the market streets, the hotel was a welcome respite. Unfortunately there was construction done next door, which made sleeping in a problem. The hotel has a beautiful ceiling restaurant and restaurant staff - especially the manager and his assistants who made me feel welcome in the city. Pahar Ganj might seem scary at first, but the advice given to me at the hotel helped me get settled in quickly. For an absolutely top notch experience I recommend that the hotel find a way to improve bathroom doors and clean old, unused fish tanks in one of the rooms. These issues I had were attended to swiftly though, so customer service seems to be a priority. On another note, I saw the hotel owner helping out impoverished locals by handing out meals on a week day. This was very endearing. Shukria, Hari Piorko!

Excellent”

The Main Bazar street that Hari Piorko is on is quite busy and overwhelming at first! My senses of sight, smell and sound were completely saturated. After a little time to adjust, however, it was a great location. It's very close to the central train station and another metro stop. There are some great rooftop restaurants and bars nearby. The staff were great. The hotel is very comfortable and pretty clean as well, especially relative to other spots in New Delhi. Enjoy!

Nice staff

Thanks to the nice staff at Hari Piorko my friend and I had many good days at the hotel. The rooms away from the street are quiet, clean and spacious. runs his team at the roof top restaurant very well and the service is kind and and orderly. In the reception and his crew helps in all possible ways. In the middle of the Main Bazar of Pahar Ganj Hotel Hari Piorko is a very good option in the semi cheap hotel categori.

Recommend highly!”

super clean, super convenient. Great staff.

we recommend hari piorko. it's central to the underground and rail station, we walked there in five minutes with heavy backpacks. its by far the nicest hotel in paragang. the rooms were like walking into a hilton compared to any other hotel we stayed at in india. we payed a little more and got an executive room- very large, amazing ac, endless hot showers, great satellite tv, a real bed with real sheets. for some reason, the hotel was mostly full of japanese and chinese, so maybe the word hasn't got out in the us or europe. the staff were the friendliest and most helpful. im not saying this lightly. there is a nice, slow, overpriced restaurant on the roof. just around the corner there are tons of great restaurants. we felt totally safe here.

Great value hotel in a good location”

Location, value, can be quiet

Main Bazaar, Pahar Ganj looks very daunting when you arrive but if you get a room at the back (which won't have a window) the hotel is amazingly quiet (quite the opposite at the front I was told). My room was large and comfortable. There is a beautiful roof terrace which isn't shown on their website. Metro station close by.

we initially booked for two nights in an executive gold room and ended up staying 6. although the street outside is bustling and dusty we chose to stay on this street because connaught place is a building site at the moment for the prices that the hotels were looking for. everything is accessible from the hotel. we were able to check in early. the rooms have little sunlight but lights can be turned on to solve that. room facilities were great with flat screen tv and big fridge. we got laundry done and it was given back to us within hours, you do pay delhi prices for the laundry but it comes back perfect. the shower head was not the best but i had stayed in many hotels around india so you get used to it. the restaurant is a little hit and miss depending on what staff are working on the day. like most places they cook indian food much better than continental. service was great some days and took ages other. the indoor restaurant is big and comfortable so it is definitely something that can work well if a little more work is put into it.i went for massages the last two days. indian massage can be different to other massage techniques but very relaxing. i requested that a lady massage me as i personally don't feel comfortable with a man massaging me and it was no problem. they were very professional and definitely cheaper than other hotels.wifi worked in our room all the time but there are rooms that don't have it.we wanted a clean room but in an area that we could walk around and feel like we were on holiday and this hotel did it.

Great hotel Great Location with Friendly Staff”

Location, Clean Room, Nice People

i was staying there for 3 nights at the beginning and one more night after my trip in varanasi. the hotel is in a great location, 15 mins walk to new delhi metro/rail way/airport express station. and also it's in a busy street where you could see many local restaurants, cafes, handcrafts shops and etc. the night life here is kind of safe as well as it's so busy even until 10.30pm! you can also see many other tourists around this street. the restaurant on the 1st floor is a great location to overview the street while enjoying a cup of coffee! (the food is just so so but). the room i lived was executive room, with clean bathroom, ac, flat screen tv and a fish tank! the bed is a double bed and very confortable! it did not have window so it's not facing street, so it's very quite and peaceful! the one weakness is that there's no wifi on any other floor apart from the ground floor (the reception area). staff here are very kind and helpful! they also have a health centre which provide traditional indian massage! the lady there is very nice too, but it closes early (around 7pm), so you have to make sure you catch the closing time. anyway, it's a great hotel and highly recommended!! (while i only lived in executive room, so can't guarantee all the other types of rooms are good as well)

A good place to stay”

"Hari Piorko" has the best place at Bazar Road of Pahraganj. The staff can be very friendly and the rooms are very clean. This time I had a better room than I had booked. I prefer the old part of the hotel - with windows outside. That is not always possible. And there is a restaurant terrace on the first floor with view to the street. A good place to start the day.

Great hotel for the price”

Clean, friendly & helpful staff, good location

the hari piorko is a great hotel for the price. it's located at the main bazzar and close to the new delhi train and metro stations. the staff are friendly and helpful. i stayed here a couple of times (5 nights in total) over one and a half weeks and was not disappointed. i recommend the deluxe room - a great deal for the rate. on new year's eve i was upgraded to a suite as the deluxe room i'd booked on-line was occupied. not sure what the suite costs but it was also a very nice room. wifi is not available in all rooms but is in the lobby. overall, a place i would stay again.

We come to Delhi every year and the last eight years we always stay at Hari Piorko. It started quit small but now there are over 100 rooms. We always come back here because of the comfortable clean rooms, the friendly and helpfull staff end the reasable prices. We can recommend this hotel

Decent accommodation for Indian Standards”

Restaurants on 2nd floor and rooftop are a good place to meet people, and food is okay.

On my initial check-in in this hotel, the staff was very polite and seemed interested in making the stay a good one. Unfortunately when I arrived in the room my linens did not appear clean. I asked the staff to change them, which they did promptly. Nonetheless it left me feeling concerned about the sanitation of the room. The bathroom was a bit gritty but also ok by Indian standards. My room did not have a window but this is normal in a lot of budget accommodation in India and actually is good as it keeps noise and pollution out of the room. After visiting many hotels in India (this was initially my first stop) I can say that the hotel is decent. The best feature is probably the restaurant which is a bit of a haven in the crazy neighbourhood of Pahar Ganj. Also should be noted - the surrounding area of Pahar Gang is a well known tourist/backpacker area and is filled with touts. This is a quite offputting to travellers not used to India, but as a female solo traveller I did feel quite safe staying at Hari Piorko.
