Well located, friendly hotel with great breakfast!”
Fantastic location, right next to the harbour market, main shopping area and most of the buildings of interest in Helsinki (as well as the train and bus stations). The hotel has 8 floors and we were on the 7th - but despite that we could still hear some noise from street level at night (snow clearing machines). At check-in, the staff were friendly and knowledgable, providing a map and advice on places of interest. Our room was clean and modern. Pros: Great breakfast spread from 7am to 10am. Free wi-fi in the room as well as a cable connection. Little touches, like an ironing board and iron, hair dryer, slippers and robes etc all being provided in the room without having to be asked for. Cons: Our room had a broken sliding bathroom door on check-in. We didn't report it as it looked as if it had been that way for some time. On the second day of our stay, a piece of tape with "do not touch" had been placed over it. The lack of privacy when using the bathroom wasn't a major issue for us, but could have been for other guests I guess. On reporting it on check-out the guy at reception kindly halved our bill! Very generous. The only other minor con was that we were given two cards for the hotel on check-in, but on the first day the cleaning lady took one (out of the slot that controls the electricity in the room) when she came in to leave bottles of water and didn't return it, leaving two guests with one key card between us.

Charming small hotel located in the center of Helsinki and just in 2 min walk from the port. Hotel serves a great breakfast. Also, there are lots of good restaurants located nearby if you choose to go out for dinner. Stylish clean and very comfortable rooms. Some of them have water views. Will stay there again

The hotel was so close to all the areas I wanted to visit in Helsinky. Fantastic ! The staff at the hotel is very helpfull and goes out of theitr way to assist you. Working in the travel industry,and being so picky about hotels this will be one of those you always recomend

Exceptional”
Fantastic hotel in a perfect part of downtown. We stayed here right before Christmas with our two young children and couldn’t have dreamed of a better place. The decor is maintained the beautiful details and charm to match the history of the building with a tasteful integration of the modern luxuries you would want in a hotel. The staff was all wonderful and kind. The location was perfect for us, it’s on a quiet street off of the harbor but only about a 2/3 minute walk to the beautiful Christmas market, and a 5 minute walk to the main downtown area. The breakfast was fantastic and the restaurant is beautiful. We highly recommend Hotel Haven and will absolutely be back!

Fell short of expectations.”
The positive points - The staff are very helpful and friendly.The food (room service) was brilliant if a little bit expensive. The location is really good, right in the heart of the city with beautiful views of both cathedrals.The breakfast was lovely, the setting was great and there was a fully comprehensive selection of foods. The negative points - The room wasn't clean when we arrived with broken crisps from the previous guests left on the chairs. The shelf above the bar where the glasses were kept was really dirty.The carpet and furniture was covered in stains. The bathroom gave out a bad smell of sewage during the evening and night. All of these points were raised with the duty manager when we checked out who offered her apologies and a 10% off voucher for our next stay (not near enough for compensation). To conclude, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel haven however I wouldn't stay here again. It was nice but definitely fell short of it's 5* reputation and price tag.

Great location, friendly staff, great breakfast.”
We booked this for my uncle and my review is based on his experience. I've posted a separate review for my wife and I who had a room on a floor below. Room provided was on the top (8th) floor and was right at the end of the corridor, so not only was it quiet but well laid-out, clean and modern. Free wi-fi provided in the room as well as free robe, slippers, hair dryer, ironing board, safe, etc. All the little touches you'd expect from a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was a highlight too, as you get a lot of choice and finding a table was not an issue no matter how busy it was. The hotel's main tick in the "pros" column is the location however. A short walk from all the shops, it's also just across the street from the harbour, and an indoor food hall which is worth a few hours of your time. It's a foody paradise, with a mix of Finnish cuisine and international hard-to-get (in other parts of Finland) foods.

Perfect Haven”
This hotel was a perfect Haven for us. Excellent location near the Christmas markets, the ferry and walking distance to the train station (although probably better to take a taxi if you have lots of bags). We stayed here on a 3 day stop over to Europe from China and had a wonderful time. My only complaint is that the seating by the fire was closed for a private party on our last day, which I wouldn’t object to except that the private party didn’t start until 6pm and we wanted to sit there at 10:30am :-(

Pleasant stay in city center”
Middle-sized luxurious hotel close to the boat/ferry pier. A few minutes walk from the main street and city center tourist destinations. Breakfast at "Havis" was brilliant. The quality of food on the buffet table was far better than those served on the international brand hotel. In sum, it is a good choice.

The hotel is situated in a quiet corner and requires some walking from the train station. However the hotel is very close to 2 cruise center (to Tallinn and to Stockholm). Staffs were very helpful and friendly and they can speak very good english which is a plus point for tourists. Room is clean and spacious.

The rooms were exclusively and luxurious, very large and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and provided the best service. The breakfast was outstanding. The dinning in the restaurant was excellent. The hotel is well located in the centre of the city, close to shopping and really nice restaurants. I will for sure book this hotel again.

Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Room is very spacious and comfortable and the hotel uses good diffuser and shower products. The hotel is close to 2 cruise centre (within walking distance). However, it is a distance from the drop off point of the airport bus and requires some walking.

Honeymoon trip”
Hotel was located just by the bay but only a tram ride away from the main railway station via tram no. 2. The Old Market located just out the back exit of the hotel provided a convenient location for last minute souvenir shopping though closed quite early. Still the main city centre was only 15 minutes away and provided lots of food options past midnight.Hotel itself had many food outlets just out the building.

Fine stay”
Very nice room with big bathroom. Reception staff extremely friendly. Staff at the breakfast were not friendly.. they didn´t automaticly help with buggies and one didn´t feel welcome to their restaurant. Breakfast in it self was really tasty but everything was all the time finished and replenishment was slow! That was really the only downside of this hotel.

Not really a Haven!”
My family and I were disappointed by our stay at Hotel Haven. Firstly I had booked and received confirmation for a room for 2 adults and 2 children, my kids are aged 10 and 13, On arrival I was told I needed to pay an additional €60 to upgrade the room so there was space to put beds in for my kids. I explained I had confirmation of booking a room for 2 adults and 2 kids, hotel Haven said that room only accommodate children under the age of 2! The room I booked was already expensive so I was not happy at all to be paying more. Other things were not great such as not enough towels supplied for 4 in the room, had to call house keeping a few times for tea, milk etc. There was maintenance issues with our room, broken shower head water going spouting every direction and the bath did not drain whilst showering. The front desk staff tried to be helpful and were pleasant. Location was very good. But I question the 5 Sar rating this hotel has, it looks the part but sadly does not deliver.
