About this property

Description

Considered by many to be better than the high-end hotels in the region, the 150 well-appointed rooms here are a relatively undiscovered treasure. Hotel Ibis Malioboro is centrally located for business and right on the street that is famous for its shopping. It is located just 40 minutes from one of the forgotten Seven Wonders of the World, Borobudur Temple - something that travelers should not miss while in the region. All types of food can be found in the area, but have a look at the pizza joint in the basement which serves some tasty pizza pie. Overall, especially for the money, this just might be the best hotel in the entire region. When you're ready to book a room at Hotel Ibis Malioboro, please enter your travel dates into the secure online booking form and click.

Great for shopping location
Booked 2 room with connecting door, it's nice to hang out with family. Clean and roomy. The only thing downside is AC not cold, called room service to fix it. But still not much different. The game room closed too early. Also kinda a bit pricey to play pool.

It's Super Location
stay a night here after Manohara hotel. location is right in Malioboro shopping street. hotel is connected to a shopping mall divided by a glass door which open from 10am to 10.30pm. Room is simple but cozy, pillow is fluffy flat again but with 2 mini bolster. I still have a bad night sleep. Room key only gave 1 but luckily air con is cooling without doubt in this hot weather n water pressure is great for shower. 2 bottles mineral water provided. a lot of international channels. toiletries are provided. when enter into hotel lobby, it was so grand n nice, feeling is great. breakfast is simple and eggs need to be ordered. Was told when check-in or when at breakfast. I overheard from other table instead. more choices for breakfast n salad are keep in the mini fridge to keep fresh. connecting mall at basement have a supermarket that sells alcohol Singer Beer, I believed this is the only place in town sells, and many kinds of items that you are surprise to see them here. worth to make a visit. foodcourt at TOP level not worth visiting. for the amount you paid, portion are so little yet expensive. no wonder no crowd. you need to order your food first then a order chit was given, paid money at cashier and go back to your stall to have your food to be cooked. No pre-payment, no cooking. Pizza Hut is great and worth paying for but the Neighbour shop rock music is disturbing. enjoy my stay here and worth the money paid for.

Not a pleasant stay
We chose this hotel as it was located on Malioboro Street so we could walk around until having to catch a taxi to airport later that day. We found the hotel to be dirty and the hotel badly needing a renovation. The hallway carpet was dirty as was out shower/bathroom in out bathroom (mouldy). The breakfast was ok, but not as good as in other hotels we stayed at on this trip. We had stayed at another hotel about 4km away a couple days earlier which was about 75% of the price of this one, but staff/facilities/breakfast significantly better. I will never consider this hotel again.

Location
I am here for 1 night, but I can tell it is located strategically at the center of all the attractions and so this will be the perfect choice for tourists.

Convenient Location for City Tour
The hotel is located right in the middle of Jalan Malioboro ("Malioboro Street"), which is VERY convenient for a city tour. The local marketplace is just right outside the hotel providing easy access to numerous shops/stalls selling handicraft items (batik, shirts, bags, slippers, keychains), restaurants and places to eat, and even a couple of shopping malls (actually, the hotel has a side entrance to a mall right beside it). The area is best explored by just walking along the street. If you don't feel like walking, taxis and becaks (pedicabs) can easily be found and hired outside the hotel. Other places of interest: the Prambanan Temple is about 30mins by taxi, Kraton and Taman Sari is about a 20-30mins walk from the hotel, the Borobodur Temple is about 1-1.5hr by taxi, and the airport is about 30mins away by taxi (all depending on the traffic). The hotel itself is excellent: the rooms are well-kept, clean, and spacious, there's a delicious breakfast buffet (try the local Indonesian cuisines), and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There's a travel agency right by the hotel lobby (Best Travel and Tours) where you can arrange your temple and city tours. Given the hotel's optimal location, it's also not that expensive and I highly recommend staying here.
