HUGE room (34 sqm), RARE for Japan”
Phenomenal value at current prices, huge and comfortable room (particularly by Japanese standards) - great breakfast buffet, with elementary school aged children served at no charge - highly recommended!

The Attentive Stylized Hotel”
I've stayed in Il Palazzo hotel for 5 nights and originally, I thought it is just a nice looking hotel and not much hope to their service. However, I was sooooo wrong. The staff is very attentive and friendly, and egar to help (though not all of them speaks good english but they often litsen and embrace a can-do spirit). The hotel room size is not too big, but is cleverly designed so you won't feel small. There is a lovely lounge in the G/F with very friendly bar-tenders and great cock-tail. Overall, my stay at Il Palazzo was a great one, and I look forward to come again, though the room price is a bit expesnive (but worth every penny of it).

Great architecture accompanied by great service”
i was in fukuoka with my mom for only 3 days, we always find a local hotel and not big chain names. this one was definitely worth every penny. for starters, the outside of absolutely beautiful, like something out of a miyazaki movie. the service was great and the room was not huge but very comfortable, actually big for japanese standards. it's close to the biggest mall there, within walking distance and also across the river from the late night food stands. very convenient for travelers of all times.

Sexy & Trendy Comfort”
Part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group. Hotel is situated next to the river & only 5-8min walk to Nakasu shopping district or 10 mins walk to Tenjin. At night, all the Yatai stalls are closely along the river.

Best night's sleep ever!”
I think we overpaid for our room which downgraded the vfm rating a little. The hotel is in need of a refurb and this is a common theme throughout. Note that this is Japan and English is not commonly spoken here, even in hotels so patience is necessary (and Google translate helps). Offsetting this, all the staff were very friendly and keen to help which ticks a very important box as we're concerned. We would stay again but only if we could get a much better rate than £200 per night (average over 8 nights). Location was perfect for us lying halfway between Hakata station and Tenjin shopping area, each being only 20 minutes walk away. The highlight was undoubtedly the most comfortable bed (& pillows) my wife and I have ever experienced. A bit too good in fact as we slept until midday on our first night!

Nice stay”
Modernized building with artful appearance is located at the middle of downtown, so it is easier to find decent restuarants or shopping center. Every hotel staff is kind and gave us warming during my stay, it cannot be better. The only problem is the entrance of this hotel, since it is the second floor, you must go using stairs without any elevator. Other than this, this hotel is perfect!

Disabled person access”
After the taxi drop us off to the hotel, we saw a building with long stairs to access. We did not believe it is the entrance as no escalators around. Also there is no directory signs to show the way to hotel entrance. We hesitated to lift up our luggage cases, then we walked around the building and found no further information. Finally we lifted up our luggage cases to walk up the stairs and reached the hotel lobby. I asked staff what will be done for wheelchair person to access the hotel, they did not answer but smiled. Hotel staff said they can help to bring the luggage cases when we check-out if needed. The hotel room is clean and the shower room is wonderful. Staff is helpful.

The room is tiny. No escalator/lifts connecting the ground level and the hotel lobby.

Not suitable for people with young children”
The property is poorly managed, it doesn’t have a lift going up to lobby from street level, so I think it is not designed for people with disability and young children. The hotel doesn’t provide much for their guests, they even have rule saying if you check out later than 11am, the guests will be charged for 2500 yen per hour. The doors of the lift close so quickly that I can’t even get out if ur on time. I will choose this hotel again never!

No elevator for traveller with luggage to lobby”
The parking location is very unfriendly to be found. There’s no sign of direction first time visitor where to park. There’s no elevator or escalator from parking level to lobby, making it very unfriendly for visitors with luggages to commute.

great location with some bugs”
Great architecture, spacious and clean rooms. Staff hardly speaks English with little flexibility for clients. No elevator to the entrance but lots of high steps.

Trying to be something its not!”
Not great, massively overpriced for what it is, rooms very dated and a bit dingy, easily the worst place we stayed (of the 4/5 star hotels) during our 3 week trip to Japan. Avoid!

Uncomfortable bathroom”
Not close to a subway station. Staffs were not very friendly. Bathroom, toilet and basin are all separated which I found very annoying to use.
