Stayed 3D2N at Hotel Indigo Hakone Gora. We were pleasantly surprised by the overall experience we had during our stay and would highly recommend anyone to stay there. The hotel in itself is very clean and modern. The room is spacious and the private bath is such a great experience. The gym and the mixed gender onsen is also really well done and will ensure an extremely relaxed time. In-room dining was acceptable but nothing special. This was probably the most disappointing part of the stay. On the other hand the breakfast was really great and worth the slightly expensive price tag. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Overall rating: 5/5

Brand new onsen hotel!”
Brand new with awesome facilities! Restaurant was great, the outside area had a foot onsen and good drinks, and the onsen was co-ed (wearing bathing suits) with really nice relaxing areas and multiple baths. Highly recommended!!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Hotel has a good mix of modern and traditional vibes. Hotel is very clean; staff are very kind, attentive and can speak good english. The room with the private onsen was definitely worth it.

Very nice hotel”
This hotel has very nice rooms with their own onsen on the balcony. The restaurant and bar is very stylish, with an outdoor foot bath as well. The breakfast is delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a hotel car and shuttle to help get you around. This is useful as the hotel is quite a distance from the train station though near a bus stop.

Great atmosphere”
Stayed in a riverside kingroom. The atmosphere is relaxed and not as overdone as many Japanese hotels, yet it has a luxurious feel. A 15 minute walk (up the stairs) will take you to Gora with some nice restaurant options (be sure to try the Gora Brewery and Grill). Just across the river is the starting point of some great hiking trails. Would go to this hotel again.

Stayed at IHG hotels previously and so far was quite satisfied. Got to know this new hotel when i was searching places to stay in Hakone Gora. Hotel location had to be accessed via bus as the trains are down currently. Even if trains were running, no way we will be holding on to our luggage and going down those steep slopes. We were not told about shuttle buses which served from Hakone-Yumoto Station until arrival(cant remember if its this)? The hotel room view is disappointing. Thankfully, i did not get the room with the river view as the scenery is definitely not worth that price paid. TV remote wasnt placed at its usual place and had to search around for it. Reception was weird, but i guess it was unique? Staff were wearing sweaters instead of usual formal wear. We asked if the cable car was working from Gora and was told it was which wasnt when we went there. Staff language skills are a little lacking for a 5star hotel. Breakfast was disappointment in terms of variety.

If traveling with young kids this place is not for you. Not really a good deal…expensive subpar food. They need to do something with the beds and pillows…super hard/stiff.

Amazing place”
Girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are amazing and the onsen is fantastic! We stayed in a river and Mountain View room and it felt so calming and relaxing to wake up the the sound of the river. The shower is great too! The staff was really nice and helpful (a Japanese standard) and they spoke English. Will grab the buffet breakfast in a bit, so I can’t review the food yet but I have high expectations since it was somewhat pricey (around $60 for two people)

Very modern facilities and friendly staff”
My husband and I had a great stay here. The staff were very friendly. They also had English speaking staff go help travelers that struggle with Japanese. Our room was clean and it was very quiet.

Nice and clean hotel”
Hotel room is very spacious despite having a private onsen in the room. Room is clean with modern design. Hotel has gym and public onsen. Free shuttle provided between Odawara and hotel, and between Gora station and hotel. Otherwise, public bus is also available to bring you to Gora station in less than 5mins.

Hakone Indigo is an excellent property. The staff was versed in English and the room gave out 5 star vibes. They do have a shuttle bus that you can request that comes to the Gora Train Station which is very convenient.

Great Stay for a reasonable price”
Do call and ask if they can shuttle you to the hotel! If not the bus is good too. The room and facilities were clean and well taken care of. The breakfast and dinner were such a treat, definitely on the pricier side but if you can afford to treat yourself for a meal, try it! Am planning to bring my parents here in the near future, thank you so much to the Hotel Indigo staff for making our stay such an amazing one.

On the positive side, the location was very clean and the food quality was high. The disappointing points for me were the following: - The service in the restaurant was very slow. We didn't receive our drinks until 15+ minutes after ordering (and having to remind the staff), and our kid's meal (pasta) took 45 - 60 min... by the time we received it we were mostly already done with our meals. - We were 2 adults and 1 child so we booked a room with a large bed and a fold out couch (as described on Agoda). When I called reception for sheets for the foldout couch, they told me it would cost an additional ¥8,000 to receive sheets. Overall nice place, but the things I remember most are the slow service and and the ridiculous charge for sheets. Won't be returning anytime soon.

The facilities are quite amazing. Access for public us travel is just as easy. The private onsen is amazing. The view is just okay. You get the river and mount at the same time, but is is quite close to the street behind. The breakfast is just worth it. For the price, this is just enough. Overall, this is good deal.

Best place to end your vacation”
If you are not certain where to go, this is the easiest choice to make. The little details are important. All the staffs are friendly and fairly good in english for foreign traveller's. Although not central spot in Hakone to restaurant, they have shuttle bus to help take you back to Odawara Station. Be sure to try and request for the front row seat on the bus for a scenic experience.

Hotel is modern and clean, wifi is fast and stable. However, the location is not walkable from Gora station, there is shuttle bus between Gora station and Odawara Station. The staff are young and helpful, but not smart enough.
