Great location, helpful staff ”
You definitely are paying for the location, (near the museums), so if that’s not a priority for you , look elsewhere for better value. That said, the price here was better than others in the area and the neighborhood was lovely ( quiet) . The staff was very pleasant and anxious to be helpful. I’d recommend without hesitation!
Modern, clean, spacious”
We chose to stay in the Museum district, to be close to sites, but outside the centre of the city. Hotel was quiet, modern looking, spacious, and clean, but they don't have parking on site (there is street parking at 4EUR/hour). Many other hotels of the same quality include bottled water, or will offer early/late check-in/out, coffee/tea in rooms, but it seemed that there were additional charges for everything.
Made our stay in Amsterdam even more enjoyable”
To be honest, Hotel JL No. 76 was our 2nd choice after losing room availability for our first hotel. I am glad we were lead to this hotel. We were located in a very quiet street yet in just less that 100 meters, you're right smack in the middle of a designer street in Amsterdam, a tram stop (which is essential to get you everywhere around town), and two of Amsterdam's best museums - Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh. What you see in the management's picture of the hotel and room design are actual. I am quite impressed. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
A perfectly located chic hotel”
We stayed in the executive room, which was lovely. It's actually even nicer in person. There were plenty of places to keep your things organized, and the staff was so helpful and polite if we needed anything at any time. Also, the bathroom is so luxurious! The location of this hotel is probably the best part. It's no more than 30 min walking to any major parts of Amsterdam -- and 5 to 10 minutes walking from most places -- and luxury brand shopping is the next street over. Even though you are so close to everything, is still very quiet and residential, so it feels very authentic. My friend and I didn't enjoy the breakfast as much, but the option is there if you are in a rush. Still, there are so many places to go to as soon as you turn the corner. It's a great gem of a hotel and I look forward to staying there again the next time I'm in Amsterdam!
Very comfortable Executive Double room in a quiet location, just minutes from Tram Lines 2 and 5 to Amsterdam Central and minutes from Museum Square. Clean and modern. Friendly and helpful staff and very good buffet breakfast. Sorry to leave after 8 nights. Janeva and Kevin from Australia
Perfect little hotel - can't wait to go back! ”
Beautiful boutique hotel in a wonderful location - quiet street, under 5 minutes walk to Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, Iamsdterdam, etc. At least 4 different tram lines (that we've used) within 2 minutes walk - that really take you almost anywhere within 5-15 minutes. Beautiful and spacious room (we got the Deluxe Superior room) - a huge comfortable bed, big window overlooking the street, big bathroom. Staff was super kind - especially Andr`e at the reception was was extremely helpful and really made us feel welcomed from the moment we stepped into the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel -- we'll definitely be going back there!
Clean, Nice and Close to shopping and attractions”
It was a good and clean hotel which close to bus station (Rijksmusuem), shopping area (P.C Hoofstraat) and attractions (I amsterdam sign). The hotel room is not small (I would say after you been to London or Paris) and yet not big. It can sufficient to allow 2 medium size luggages (size24) to open up and little space to walk around. The check in was fast but not the check out. We checked out on last Saturday early morning and the 2 staffs take some times to process. We were rushing to catch our bus to airport so it was a little downturn here. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.
Very nice hotel, well located to museums and eateries and designer shopping street was just behind us. Breakfast was excellent in hotel and the area was nice and quiet at night. We also had one evening meal in hotel this was also very good. Staff very friendly and attentive. First time visiting this hotel and would definitely go back.
Nice stay in the Museum Quarter”
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located 2 blocks from the Van Gogh Museum and one block from luxury brand shopping. The room we had was on the second floor facing the street which was quiet most of the time, except on weekday mornings since the hotel is around the corner from several preschools and a playground. Also during our stay, the entire street (except the sidewalk) in front of the hotel was being redone so there is no car access, for now. Overall, room was comfortable, clean tastefully decorated, and I would stay there again.
a small but cosy five star boutique hotel”
We only stayed for one after coming back t from our Europe tour. Hotel jl is a nice and comfortable boutique hotel ,walking distance to the museums and branded shops. The receptionists were friendly n helpful and they could speak good English. For the price paid, it is quite an expensive hotel because the room was pretty small and without breakfast provided.
Nice design hotel”
The room is very nice with modern design, bed is very comfy, breakfast is good but not a lot of choices. 2 mins away from the metro and easy access to the center and sightseeing places.
Wonderful hotel with friendly staff”
This is a wonderful hotel in a nice quaint environment. Staff are friendly and mars guests feel at home
Excellent and super friendly staff

H from Canada”
Ideally situated with easy access to all attractions and transportation. Hospitable staff, comfortable quiet rooms with all the amenities.
Lovely boutique hotel in the muse uh m district. Quiet neighborhood but near to night life. Staff was amazing and rental bikes, a nice touch. We would love to make a return visit!
I should have stayed longer.”
Excellent location. Near all the museums!!!!!!!!!!!
I booked JL 76 for a weekend for my daughter and her boyfriend(20 yrs old)as a gift for xmas. When they arrived they were UPGRADED to a sister hotel a few streets away. The upgrade was based on the sister hotel executive room having a BATH.. I believe the sister hotel was a cheaper booking... Not impressed by them having to change hotels.
Good location but useless front desk”
The location and the hotel design is OK but... The sound insulation is very bad and we had to deal with annoying people partying and bringing over girls in the room next to ours until 6:00am. The front desk was totally useless even after complaining several times. Do not go if you wish to have a good rest at night.
Location is terrific but water is chargeable”
Basic necessities such as drinking water should be provided as free of charge for a 4-star hotel.
