A hidden gem in Akan-Mashu National Park”
If you are looking for a tranquility in nature, this is the perfect place to stay. Pay extra money and book a room with the river view. It’s definitely worth the money. I loved the cute sitting area and private onsen looking over the river and the forest. A bag of coffee bean and drip coffee set with a grinder was such a special touch to the room. Dinner and breakfast was fabulous. Probably we could get a more detailed explanation of each menu if we understand Japanese. Public outdoor onsen looking over the river is just lovely and often you’ll see some deers visiting the area. Staffs are awesome although there were some moments that I had to rely on the translator for a better communication. Yet most of them are very attentive and kind. Definitely will be back again.

The scenery out of the room is very beautiful, your would see wild animals running along the river. In addition, the dinner and breakfast are both delicious. We had a great leisure time here. The only disadvantage is that the private hot spring’s rooms are not very clean, some of them smells like foot odor.

Lovely hotel and spa but quite remote so would not recommend if you aren't able to get there by car. Top tier staff food and accommodation. Could not recommend it more for the price and my stay there was wonderful.

Beautiful view in room with a little hot spring. Excellent service. They offer ice lollies, yoghurt drinks and ramen for free as a little treat after enjoying the onset. It is a bit difficult to get there if you are not driving by yourself.

Fantastic stay!”
Basically we enjoy every moment of our stay in La Vista. We feel pleasant with the welcoming drinks and the natural ambiance of the resort! The room is so spacious and we love the view from our room, it can overview the forest and partially river scenery although we booked a mountain view room. Love to take a hot dip inside our room, we are so lucky to see some deer hanging around at the outdoor at night!!! The hotel is so lovely to provide some snacks, coffee grinder and a tea set for us to make our own coffee and tea! We love the dinner, which is kaiseki style and the seafood is so fresh, it took us 2 hours to finish our meal! The public onsen is the highlight of our stay as well, we love the outdoor onsen with forest view compare to the private onsen which have nothing special to shout of. There is a free ice cream and ramen at night after the hot dip. Also, the staff did arrange some carnival activities at the lobby :) Overall, we love this resort! Thumbs up!

Mixed feelings”
Fairly big Ryokan a few minutes by car from Lake Akan. The best about this place is the location, right next to a beautiful river side with regular visits from deers, the layout of the room facing the river and the Onsen, especially the Private baths. On the other hand there are a few odd things about this Ryokan, such as the souvenir shop in the lobby or the badly designed and organised free snack area. Dinners is just ok, not bad but like many other things could be better for what they are trying to be. My guess is that the simply have to many guest rooms and the intent to cover this up and make it look eclectic doesn't always work. Overall I liked our stay at La Vista but I found it totally over-priced for what they offered.

Authentic Japanese hotel”
The hotel is ideally located near Akan lake (about 5 minutes drive), and is nestled by a small river in a quiet and secluded forest. The rooms are spacious and even included a small onsen, ideal after a long day of trekking. The meals (breakfast and dinner) are typically Japanese, and the chef did a great job of varying dishes every day (we stayed 5 nights). Seafood was super fresh; many dishes in every meal. Only small downside is that the staff can't speak any English, so sometimes it's a bit tricky for foreigners ...

The hotel is very beautifully decorated with good privacy and very quiet. They provide refreshments and meals for the stay and very nice onsen for guests to enjoy. i loved the spacious room with private onsen tub as well as the very nice coffee and tea set prepared for you in the room while you relax and enjoy the view from the room.

Love the river view from the room so bad!! Such a quiet hotel that you can totally relax yourself. Both dinner and breakfast were served in the restaurant with a river view which is stunning snow view in the winter. Staff are friendly. Hot springs are nice. There were also free ice cream and free late night noodles!! Would visit again for sure!!

Great hotel with beautiful room views of the river and forest. If you are lucky, you will be able to spot some deers too. Room interior is really comfortable and the private onsen facing the river is awesome. Dinner was fantastic with really good food! All in all, it's a perfect stay!

Nice view with open air onsen ”
My room has a perfect river view . The open air onsen has superb view and so relaxing. We stayed in the hotel all day because it was heavily rained. At dawn, we saw some deers grazing along the river.
