Yuraku Yamabiko-tei Mount Fuji View Japanese Style Room with Private Open-Air Bath - Non-Smoking

Outstanding experience with a little disappointment”
The service is thoughtful and the staff are warm-hearted. The hot springs and garden view are satisfying. But the way to see Mount Fuji from the hot spring in the room is a little inconvenience. After all, I will recommend this hotel and stay here next time I visit Mount Fuji.

Enjoyable, but more planning is required to view the best side of Fuji”
I have booked a Yuraku Yamabiko-tei Mount Fuji View Japanese Style Room with Private Open-Air Bath - Non-Smoking room. The hotel is clean, large and neat. I can see the top part Fuji mountain from the private bathroom, but the sides of the mountain is blocked by trees and the window. I expected to see the Fuji with a wider view :( The hotel provides an early dinner, so unfortunately I have to miss the rooftop hotspring (which has best view of Fuji) opening time because it closes before 6:30pm for ladies. It closes all night and switch to only gentlemen in the morning. However, the Red Fuji public bath is not bad for viewing Fuji. It was not crowd. The nearest convenient store requires 15mins walk. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Very helpful and patient staff. Overall I am still satisfied.

Quality facilities but lacking character for a ryokan”
Probably the best hotel gardens you will find in the world. We loved the Japanese-style room, though was a bit soulless. The personal onsen was amazing. Only one toilet for 5 persons was tricky. Nice to have had a better explanation of the room eg. the water-boiler instructions all in Japanese, how to switch on the onsen light. Only one guy spoke English at the front desk which was a challenge! Breakfast good selection of both Japanese and Western options. The compulsory dinner, served in a private room, was all Japanese and an acquired taste! Fairly bland tasting fish and cold food, the only hot food was miso soup and rice. Our teenagers, avid Japanese food fans, were not impressed, and we ended up paying for ramen at the noodle bar. Our worst experience was, having decided to climb Mount Fuji and realising we wouldn't be back for dinner, were told there would be no refund (we didn't expect one) and we weren't even offered any sandwiches when we returned tired and hungry!

Amazing ”
Hotel Kaneyamaen is a truly amazing experience, located at the base of Mt. Fuji. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left , we were given the best service and hospitality. The hotel is beautiful , with unbelievable gardens right on the hotel grounds. We had a garden view room with an an onsen in our room (I have a tattoo so was not able to use the regular rooftop Onsen). Well worth the money, and great to be able to get in our own private onsen anytime. The room was beautiful and spacious, a luxurious Ryokan style room. We got the Kaiseki dinner plan, and had two world class multicourse dinners. The breakfast that was included was the most amazing breakfast as well.. with both western and traditional Japanese dishes all made fresh. Definitely a once in a life-time experience. There was a little bit of a language barrier, but it was more then made up for with hospitality and willingness to assist. A must stay if you are in the Fuji area.

Most memorable stay in Japan”
Define recommend all people to stay here! Even though the price is extremely high, it worth for it. You can enjoy the hot spring and looking at the Mt.Fuji at the same time. We are so lucky that can see the Sakura in our stay here. The foot hot spring is nice too. The breakfast not bad, but the dinner is very good experience for the Japanese traditional dinner. After dinner, will have a show and Bingo Game. You can call the shuttle bus to drive you to the hotel when you arrive Mt.Fuji Station and you can take the shuttle to the nearest station as well.

Exceptional customer service”
The staff are amazing. We had a mix up with our bus tickets ‘Tokyo-Fujisan’ (gave the return leg ticket by mistake when getting off the bus on the first leg of the journey) and we only realised on the day we were checking out of hotel. With not much time until we were meant to board the return bus, a very lovely staff member contacted the bus company and then escorted us to the ticketing office and bus stop to explain the situation as we spoke no Japanese. This is exceptional service, he was so lovely to do this for us. On another note, the property is beautiful and the food is delicious, it was an amazing stay. Would love to go back.

Private Onsen”
Open Air Private Onsen is a must as a couple, the view of Mt Fuji wasn't the greatest as it was a side-on view which other Rooms may have slight differences. Rooftop Onsen is seperated with sessions for gender, although offers and best view of Mt Fuji.

Great staff and facility!”
Hotel Kanayamaen makes your feel like royalty when you walk into the door with 10+ ladies in kimono bowing and greeting you. We booked the traditional Japanese style room with Mt. Fuji view. Unfortunately, the weather was bad, and we did not see the mountain. The Okami-san was very helpful and speak good English. Staff does speak English and make sure you understand everything. The dinner (Kaiseki style) was very good and thoughtful. Beautifully prepared and very intricate feels like 5 star hotel's food. Breakfast buffet was very good with myriads of option including western style and Japanese style breakfast. They even serve very good dessert at breakfast! The most amazing thing about this Ryokan is the beautiful garden (absolutely gorgeous) with river running through. They do have complementary tea ceremony at the teahouses in the garden, and also have Japanese drum show after dinner. The facility does have 3 onsen.

Ryokan offering serenity and quality experiences under Mt Fuji”
Kaneyamaen is a plush Japanese Ryokan in a serene and tranquil environment located near Mount Fuji. The hot springs offer an escape from other-world issues, enjoyed in their large spa, in a smaller high-level spa, or privately in rooms with views towards Mt Fuji. Their quality and ingenious Japanese cuisine, together with stunning Japanese garden make this a very special stay.

twin rooms need great improvement”
We stayed one night in a japanese-style room and one night in this twin-style room (because of availability issues). The japanese style room was great but the twin style room is VERY outdated and small and not worth the price at all. One of the worse rooms we have stayed at in Japan. Staff is OK but I had an issue with a massage service and there was no one who spoke English that could help me. They will not keep your luggage after check out at all and they will call you many times before check out to make sure you check out at the exact time. Overall experience in the hotel was good, but definitely not worth the price in a twin room, just worth if you stay in a room with private Onsen and above.
