Stayed two nights for my honeymoon in mid May, stayed in one of the Yamabiko-Tei rooms with private bath, garden view. The experience is overall fantastic. Service, facilities, presentation of building interior, cleanliness, friendliness are faultless. Needing special mention are the gardens outside - they were simply magnificent during that time of the year with the yellow and red leaves. We were also impressed with the Kaiseki dinners. And managed to catch the peak of Mount Fuji (requires you to wake up before 8am though). The only thing to note is the location. It was in Fujiyoshida rather in Kawaguchiko (neighbouring towns, so it's not too big a deal). The location is 10mins drive from the nearest train/bus station (Mt Fuji). They provide a free shuttle service every 30mins to either Mt Fuji station or Kawaguchiko station - which we used to visit Kawaguchiko town.
Excellent place to stay if you travel to Mount Fuji ”
It provides feeder bus service for pick up and drop off at various tourist points. Within the hotel, it’s tastefully decorated with a huge beautiful japanese garden. It has a few onsens and one of them is outdoors with the majestic Mount Fuji view. The dinner arranged at the hotel room was really sumptuous and makes us feel so pampered. If I were to travel back to Mount Fuji, I will definitely stay back into this same hotel.
Hotel Kaneyamaen is the best place I have ever stayed at. The private onsen in my room was awesome and so relaxing. The staff was so nice and accommodating. There is a tea ceremony in the garden in the day before 6 PM, which was short and delicious. The Japanese garden in the hotel is enormous and beautiful! Lots of opportunities to take great photos. The dinner was held in our room and was so delicious. The Taiko drum show and bingo was a fun way to entertain guests. The breakfast is held in a buffet style and was very impressive and delicious. I wish I could stay here every time I come back to Japan. Tip: If you are coming from Tokyo, please contact the hotel ahead of time to get on a shuttle at Mt. Fuji station. We made the mistake of not doing that and ended up taking a bus and walking quite a bit from Mt. Fuji station.
Well worth the money for a once-in-a-lifetime experience”
We felt like royalty from the moment we stepped into Hotel Kaneyamaen. The grounds were beautifully kept, and the service was impeccable. We were able to call the hotel through a payphone at the Mt. Fuji station for the shuttle pick-up. The day we arrived the rooftop onsen was reserved for women only, so I was able to watch the sunset with an unforgettable view of Mt. Fuji. We felt very lucky we were able to see Mt. Fuji on a clear day (early April visit). Make sure you are familiar with onsen etiquette, as some staff members that attend the onsens are not as fluent in English as the front desk. The next day was reserved for men, and we surprisingly woke up to snow! We also had a private onsen in our room, and the view was truly breathtaking. Of course, the weather will be variable during your visit, but the gardens and activities provided (taiko show/bingo) kept us engaged but still feeling very relaxed. The kanseiki meal and breakfast buffet was delicious!
We love everything there! The service is really nice! The food from breakfast to dinner is amazing and of wonderful quality. We didn't expect the breakfast buffet to be that nice! We stayed there for 2 nights and we were sad that we didn't spend more days in this hotel. You can see Mount Fuji when you are in the onsen. However, the days we were there, Mount Fuji was being shy... We were lucky to see fireflies in the garden of the hotel during the night. They have this fireflies festival every summer. It was a wonderful experience. We were surprise to find that most of the people who stayed in this hotel were actually locals. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy top quality service and food!
The Onsen has really nice view. Lots of activities provided by the hotel. Very interesting. The Staff is very nice. Although they made a mistake on our food bill but they helped us fix that during check out.
Enjoyable, but more planning is required to view the best side of Fuji”
I have booked a Yuraku Yamabiko-tei Mount Fuji View Japanese Style Room with Private Open-Air Bath - Non-Smoking room. The hotel is clean, large and neat. I can see the top part Fuji mountain from the private bathroom, but the sides of the mountain is blocked by trees and the window. I expected to see the Fuji with a wider view :( The hotel provides an early dinner, so unfortunately I have to miss the rooftop hotspring (which has best view of Fuji) opening time because it closes before 6:30pm for ladies. It closes all night and switch to only gentlemen in the morning. However, the Red Fuji public bath is not bad for viewing Fuji. It was not crowd. The nearest convenient store requires 15mins walk. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Very helpful and patient staff. Overall I am still satisfied.
Amazing experience. Breathtaking view from rooftop onsen. ”
Upon arrival to Hotel Kaneyamaen, we were greeted by staff who were extremely helpful. Shown to our room, explained where all facilities were located, including dinner and breakfast restaurants. Lovely Japanese Garden on-site. All public onsens were well maintained and clean. Absolutely would recommend to future travellers, rooftop onsen with Fuji View was something which can only be experienced, words cannot describe how amazing this view is.
This is the best onsen hotel/ resort i ever stay. Great services and staff since we drop off from taxi. The hotel got a beautiful and huge Japanese garden. The view from room and private onsen is fantastic with Mount Fuji view.
Luxurious, spectacular hotel”
the garden around the hotel is world class and needs to be seen to be believed. The staff are wonderful and attentive to every request, the traditional Japanese rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable The breakfast has huge range and would make any adult or child very happy The views of the mountain are spectacular This hotel is by far the most impressive hotel we have stayed in and I only wish I had arranged more time there Thank you to all the staff that assisted us
A truly memorable experience, great facilities, hospitable, dedicated and warm hotel staff, every detail is looked into, from the rooms to the gardens and even the greenery surrounding the area - and the food ... the dinners are simply unforgettable.
The hotel is very big, our room was spacious. Food and facilities are excellent, really impressed. One thing to improve is they do not store luggage for hotel guests at all after check out. But most tourists will travel to the lake before leaving the area at daytime, so that is really not convenient, at least the hotel could have told the guests where to store luggages in town.
Extremely awesome place, featuring a beautiful Japanese garden. The room is also very spacious with a clear view of Mt Fuji and a big private Onsen in the room (depend on the room cat you have booked)! After our check-in, we put on the yukata, enjoyed the Japanese tea+sweet, shopped at the souvenir shop, had our Kaiseki dinner n watched the Taiko perf+bingo game (which I won something!). It’s a great place to hang out for a day or max 2 days in the hotel before it may get slightly boring. The price is of course very pricey but it’s a great reward for yourselves after a year of hard work.
Fabulous hotel stay”
Enjoy the facilities of the hotel, Amber hotel room space for 2 adult 2 kids. Fabulous Mount Fuji view just right at window and balcony. Free parking and etc
Very fansy tratitional japanese hotel.”
Being at this hotel you feel like you are in farry story. Food is very well presanted, but you should love japanese food.
Don’t hesitate just book it!”
Probably the best experience ever! This hotel is perfect - the service, the room, the Mount Fuji view, the food........ I rank 10/10! Get the room with onsen!
Very nice to have drum performance and bingo game, feel very warm
Most memorable stay in Japan”
Define recommend all people to stay here! Even though the price is extremely high, it worth for it. You can enjoy the hot spring and looking at the Mt.Fuji at the same time. We are so lucky that can see the Sakura in our stay here. The foot hot spring is nice too. The breakfast not bad, but the dinner is very good experience for the Japanese traditional dinner. After dinner, will have a show and Bingo Game. You can call the shuttle bus to drive you to the hotel when you arrive Mt.Fuji Station and you can take the shuttle to the nearest station as well.
Amazing all inclusive Japanese Traditional Experience! ”
This hotel has literally everything! Amazing included food, beautiful hot springs, and traditional experiences. Walking around in a yukata drinking tea and staring at Fuji were some of my grandest Japan memories! You won't regret this hotel!
Open Air Private Onsen is a must as a couple, the view of Mt Fuji wasn't the greatest as it was a side-on view which other Rooms may have slight differences. Rooftop Onsen is seperated with sessions for gender, although offers and best view of Mt Fuji.
