Old rundown gotel
Location good. But there's much more newer choices. Must be good during its glory days but now too old and not too well maintained. Many other choices...

Not so bad. But old and not clean.
The room is quite old. Although it has a great small pond, the room condition is not so good if compared with another hotel around.

This hotel has seen better days
Staff, Garden, Location
In it's heydays, this must have been a truly classy and impressive hotel. Alas, it's not the case anymore. Everything looks worn out and old. Stains on the carpet and all over the walls and the bath. Little flies and mosquitoes everywhere... On the other hand, the staff is very professional, the breakfast was simple but good, the garden very beautiful with a nice pond and lots of fishes. It is also well situated, not far from the night market and some very nice temples.

Low expectations yet still disappointed
Location, location, location
We booked this place last minute for 1 night. We booked a budget place since it was only 1 night but we intentionally didn't book the cheapest and went for something moderate hoping for slightly better quality. We were so disappointed. The bathroom was so terrible we had to laugh. The shower head didn't stay mounted to the wall so we had to take turns holding it for each other, but even still the bathroom was soaked by the end because where there used to be a cheap shower curtain liner there now hangs a shred of moldy plastic. Seriously, it was a scrap. I don't know why it was even left hanging. The bathtub, ceiling, floors and toilet were all moldy and stained. I don't know why you bother folding the toilet paper into a pretty little triangle when you have such a filthy toilet. It was tragically funny. The beds were hard as rocks (and we are NOT picky) and the sheets were stained...or just dirty. I hope stained. The carpet was worn down and moldy. There was a pair of flip flops in there and I couldn't tell if it was meant to be a courtesy or if they were just left behind because although they were nicely lined up next to the door, they were worn down and discolored. The hotel itself is a strange old building which could add character, but instead it's just weird. It was a 4 floor walk-up which was okay for us, but not mentioned at the time of booking. There was a multigenerational family that seemed to live there and they were shouting and arguing all night. I'm pretty sure the door locks were just for decoration. We wished we would've just stayed at a $6 guesthouse. Vientiane is lovely, but avoid this place unless you're entertained by dim, dirty buildings and confrontation.
