                Impressive at first, disappointing service thereafter”
                Hotel was alright, service was great with a staff bringing us up to the room to show us all the amenities in the room. However, the air-conditioning wasn't functioning in our room just before we went to bed (there was literally NO AIR/VENTILATION coming out from the air-conditiong). We called the room service but the reception just brushed us off by highlighting that it was working. We called a second time to check if someone was coming up to at least check our room, the staff just said he would turn up the temperature from his control panel. We gave up and slept with the windows opened instead. Really poor service for a hotel that received just good reviews in summary, disappointing.

                The hotel is close to metro station (Gare De I'Est, exit 8) indeed, just 2 mins by walk. As you can see the rest comment, the hotel entrance is tiny as the reception is not located on the ground floor, but first floor, you would probably miss the entrance. There is a security guard situated until 23:30 every night. I stayed here for 2 nights. On the 1st night, I was assigned to the 1st floor, same floor as reception, the breakfast dinning area is just opposite of my room, you would imagine how frequent the outside people movement will be during the day & night. I booked a Standard double bed room, but the bed is actually combined by two tiny twins bed, which made my sleep not comfortable. Even worst, I could listen train rumbling all the times, I wonder why this serious situation has not been mentioned here? I requested for a change, hotel moved me to the upper floor at 6/F, this was not an upgrade, as all the facility, bed size (again made by 2 x twins bed) were all the same, the desk was still as small as in 1st floor's, the light bulb over the desk was not functional, the partition of the shower area is not wide enough, it is expected to have water leakage after every shower. Anyhow, not much background noise, but the room access card didn't work, finally I entered to the room by using their security card, hotel didn't have any spare card to me, I stayed in my room without any key card, it was very terrible & insecure. I will not stay in this hotel again. The facility is awful.

                Nice hidden hotel in front of the Gare de l'Est”
                Perfect location for a late train arrival to Paris' Gare de l'Est. Secure access, clean and very friendly. Facilities are very recent good and clean, yet small as in most Parisian hotels. Metro station a few meters away.

                Great hotel, great location, great staff”
                the room, the staff, and the location all perfect
                Just a wonderful relaxing hotel, with the staff going out of their way to make a most enjoyable stay. Free good WIFI beautiful rooms which seem newly refurbished and the location is just perfect 3 min from the main line station and metro. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who go out of their way to please. No restaurant but the buffet breakfast is more than adequate and delicious. We were 3 and has junior suite; the rooms at the front have a good view of city life. The rear rooms have a courtyard view and are quiet. We'd love to have stayed longer and hope to come again soon.

                I was disappointed with the hotel services. I book a superior room. However i knew I was allocated a standard.room. When i ask reception about room type they claim it was superior. I was ask to pay city tax of 2pkus euro per person. No receipt was given for this charge. Agoda should evaluate all hotel rating to help your customers to avoid being.disappointef with over rated hotel. I am asking Agoda to refund the $32.00 paid for an upgraded room.
