I stayed for 3 nights and it was great. I decided to come here after checking out the bathroom. I visited 3 hotels on this trip, and this was my favorite. I guess it's because it's not a tourist hotel, so it has a relaxed atmosphere. 🙏 <Pros> • The staff are very friendly! • The cleaning reception is until 12:30, which is nice because it's ample time! I didn't have to rush out after working hard early in the morning. • It seems old, but it is clean. • The bathroom floor is Korean-style, which I liked; it's spacious. • There's a mirror, making it easy to apply makeup. • The curtains are red, which gives a cozy feeling. • There's a large private parking lot in front of the hotel. 👍 <Cons> • There are no convenience stores nearby; I had to walk at least 10 minutes to get to one, but there are generally few convenience stores in Hamamatsu itself. • It’s a bit difficult to adjust the hot and cold water. • The station is a bit far away.
The room was so comfortable with huge bed, the only down side is the parking space which was full so we have to park at remote parking which was quite costly.
Hotel is clean and staff is friendly. Hotel should place English signage next to Japanese so that it is easy for foreigners like me
This time, in relation to my eldest son's wedding, we used two compact twin rooms for the first family gathering between both families in Hamamatsu, after traveling from Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture. I was very satisfied with the all-you-can-drink welcome drinks, the selection of amenities like shampoo, the variety of the breakfast buffet (including the hotel's specialty, eel rice), and the promptness of staff in replenishing the drink bar and buffet items when they ran out, as well as their kind responses. If I had to mention any points of dissatisfaction, it would be that the indoor temperature couldn't be adjusted, and that it wasn't possible to ventilate by opening windows, as well as the slightly outdated unit bath, which left me with some minor complaints about the facilities. However, I was able to enjoy a stay that exceeded those concerns. I would like to use this hotel again when I visit Hamamatsu.

“Great Staff and Hotel But A Poor Nights Sleep”
So despite not recommending it I actually do like the Hotel Leon. Its not far from Hamamatsu station, an easy walk, as well as being very close to the shops and restaurants. All of the staff I interacted with were very professional and helpful. The communal areas were well furnished and pleasant, as were the rooms. The whole place was very clean and comfortable. However I had 2 issues that stopped me from sleeping well, the first was that built into the bed is a clock, I could find no way to turn this off so the room glowed all night unless I propped a pillow over the display. Secondly, the room window could not be opened and the air con was the style where the temperature is controlled by the hotel and the user simply puts low, mid or high on the dial. Despite being negative temperatures outside the room itself was stuffy and far too warm, without the ability to open the window even a crack and with the aircon off it was still too stuffy and hot to sleep well. I stayed here 3 nights and each night my sleep was broken and unsatisfying for these reasons. I also had an issue with the bathroom, the showerhead is obviously a new model which I appreciate, however the angle of this shower head means that when showering the spray hits the rim of the bath directly, there is no way to change the angle other than removing the showerhead or pointing it at the wall. this results in the water pooling over the side of the bathtub rim and onto the floor if you do not block 100% of the spray with your body. Over the three days I managed to reduce the flood each time but it was still a frustrating affair and I was glad the shower itself was in a wetroom. Finally I had an issue that will likely be only an issue for a tiny amount of travellers. Due to a medical condition I need to carry medication with me as I travel, this medication needs to be kept at low temperatures in order to remain viable, if it is left at room temperature it will denature and become unusable, as it is prescription and expensive as well as vital to my health I am quite concerned about keeping it at the right temperature and always book hotels with a fridge. The issue came when the cleaner turned off the fridge whilst I was out, something that has never happened in over a year of travelling Japan and staying in similar hotels. I did not notice this until the following morning meaning the fridge was off for almost 24 hours and had I been staying another day and not noticed again my medication could have been lost from this action. I do not believe that hotel staff should turn off the fridge and even if they do should check it is empty first. It is for the reasons of poor sleep, frustration while washing and this personal incident with my medication that I would not go back to Hotel Leon or be able to recommend it despite all the positives I feel about the staff, location, price and comfort.
