A pleasant stay!!!”

This was my first trip to Macau. I went ahead and booked this hotel ignoring all reviews. 1) Free Hotel Transport from Macau Ferry Terminal - Pickup and Drop 2) Secured access - The LIFT service requires access card which grant access ONLY to the floor where the room is allocated and to the Lobby Floor. Guests access is restricted to other floors. 3) Wait time to check in - Minimum 15 minutes 4) I opted for non smoking room. Its well cleaned and maintained. Room service staff will be around the floor and helpful anytime. 5) Washroom(Toilet) inside the room is a key highlight and my favorite too - One would have to read the instruction carefully on the automated system prior to first bath. Shampoo, conditioner, bathing gel, body gel are made out of Jasmine. 6) Indoor swimming pool is well maintained. Not sure if there was an outdoor swimming pool. 7) Restaurants, bakeries, bank and shops are available inside the hotel. 8) Hotel Interior is also in the list of my favorite. 9) Staff at reception were very polite and courteous. 10) Good for family stay as well. 11) If you are a gambler, then that facility is available as well at the basement. I prefer to stay in the same hotel if I travel to Macau again. Thanks to Lisboa Hotel Management for the good deal and providing a pleasant stay. Note: 1) Opinion and expectation differs from individual to individual. The above said are my personal opinion about the stay in the hotel. 2) Lisboa hotel is the one I stayed. There is also another hotel called Grand Lisboa across the road. I guess the management is same. So don't get confuse while booking.

Huge room, best deal you can get”

just opposite Grand Lisboa

Very easy to go around Macau, thanks to the free shuttle buses provided by the big hotels. While our room was not available for early check in (12nn), we immediately headed to the very popular Cafe e Nata by Margaret. Good thing I made some researches about Macau so finding this place was a breeze (just a few minutes walk from the hotel). Next were the hotels - Grand Lisboa, Galaxy, Venetian, Okura, City of Dreams. They were all great, with chatacteristics of their own. Aside from the casinos, Macau also has interesting sites, like the senado square, ruins of St Paul, Macau tower, Guia Fort, etc, find time to visit them too. On the hotel, I believe Lisboa offers one of the best, if not the best deal. We were upgraded upon check in. The room, while quite dated, is huge. Everything was comfortable. I particularly loved the look and luxurious feel of the bathroom (they actually have Hermes toiletries!). And lastly, all the items in the minibar are free!

Very nice hotel in a good location”

Close to the Portuguese heritage sites

from what i've learned the lisboa is where it all started in macau. many years ago when people would talk about macau and gambling the lisboa was the well known name. the hotel has recently been renovated and is considered 5 star. from my travels i say it has all of the qualities of a 5 star hotel (i.e. 24 concierge, 24 room service, turn down service upon request) but the interior finishes still feel slightly dated. i come from seattle, washington usa and am used to 5 star hotels in vegas which have a more modern feel. but the lisboa was still an excellent hotel and very comfortable and great service. the part of town where the lisboa, the grand lisboa, mgm grand and the wynn are the "old" part of town and have a different feel than las vegas. it's a lot of very serious customers playing baccarat and pai gow, it's not the feeling you get in vegas. i spent the next night at the venetian which is the largest casino in the world and it is closer to the vegas feeling where people are having fun losing their money and aren't so up tight :)

Wonderful Room with Polite and Helpful Staff”

Centrally located, Good Service, Comfortable Rooms

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! It was my 2nd time at Lisboa and this hotel certainly does not disappoint! Our flight arrived at 10am and we got an early check-in, as well as a late check-out due to a 6pm flight. The room was upgraded FOC, with a mesmerising view of Grand Lisboa. There are staff who speak English and Mandarin, so communication wasn't an issue. Room service came by daily to replenish toiletries and the free drinks in the mini-bar. The hotel restaurants were up to par. Tim's Kitchen is a one Michelin star Cantonese restaurant, my dinner for three cost approx USD 100. There is buffet dinner at Noite e Dia Cafe for MOP 220 (less than USD 30) whipping up local delights incl. roasted meats, dim sum, Japanese sashimi, pastas etc. Ask for a peep at the dishes - the waitresses are more than willing to let you do that! Great range of desserts - Macanese biscuit cake, mango pudding, creme brulee, chocolate fountain, macarons and much, much more! For Portuguese cuisine, try Guincho a Galera at level 3 - but long pants are needed for the gentlemen. The hotel is centrally located and is a 5-minutes walk from the famous Cafe e Nata egg tarts. From Hotel Lisboa, walk towards Grand Lisboa, cross another small road towards Lukfook Jewellery and disappear into the alley. Viola! You are now queuing with the crowd for egg tarts. Continuing in the same direction and walking down another 7 min or so gets you to the Town centre. In Macau, taxis are metered, so if a driver offers you a price before you board, ignore him. Hotel Lisboa will glady get you a cab - just ask the reception. To the airport, it costs MOP 60-70. Should you require to get to Zhuhai, China, obtain a ticket from any Hotel Lisboa casinos prior to queuing for the shuttle bus. The bus also carries passengers to the ferry terminal to cross over to Hongkong. Despite being one of the oldest luxurious hotel, Hotel Lisboa is well-maintained and definitely feels anything but old. Enjoy your stay here!

Best value in Macau city”

Location, room accomodation, staff

Rating 8.2 for this hotel is underrated. It should be 9.5 or higher. I've been coming to this hotel since 2002 when it was the biggest hotel/casino in Macau. Since then there were many other much bigger newer hotels build, but I will keep coming back to this hotel. For the value, it can't be beat. Thought the outside of this hotel looks dated, but the inside of the hotel had been updated. The room is a bit dated but still very comfortable. Love the free mini bar, breakfast buffet is great and dinner buffet is great. Price for dinner buffet is a bit spendy but cheaper than Sands and most other big hotels. One of the updated feature they have is security, which most of the 5 stars in Macau and Hong Kong don't have yet, is that when you scan your room key in the elevator, it will automatically select your floor for you and you can't push buttons to choose any other floor. The reception staffs, bell boys, concierges, restaurant staffs, housekeeping are surprisingly speak very good English and are very nice. Tippers, if you want to tip, you'll have to physically put your tips into the server's pocket on the uniform or the hotel/restaurant will keep your tip. The only thing bad about Macau as a whole is that the Mainland Chinese people that come to Macau are rude, loud, uneducated, and dirty. They are almost as American rude and as loud. Mainland Chinese people have no common courtesy and no common decency. It's easy to avoid the Americans in Macau or Hong Kong, but the Mainland Chinese people are everywhere, you can't avoid them. You can tell which people are native Macau people or Hong Kong people because they act civilize. You can hear the Mainland Chinese a mile away when they talk or you can hear them clearing their throat and spit a mile away.

Luxury without breaking the bank”

Posh hotel with affordable prices, close to sightseeing and great food, jacuzzi and free drinks in room

I have always stayed at Lisboa Hotel whenever I come to Macau, because for the price I pay, I get to enjoy a momentary sense of wealth and class, starting from the all you can drink beverages in the fridge for free, the modern Jacuzzi system in the bathroom, and the luxuriously decorated room décor. It is beside 2 very posh hotels/casinos: Wynn and Grand Lisboa but the rooms are way cheaper than those 2 hotels. Hotel Lisboa is also within walking distance to Margaret de Nata, one of the must eat egg tart places of Macau. Beyond that, you can walk to the Ruins of St Pauls which is really spectacular, and in between there are lots of eateries, shopping and other historical sites that I can visit. The hotel staff are okay, not very friendly but are professional in their services.

Great, luxurious hotel with excellent location.”

Old-style luxury everywhere.

I only had a short stay there, but would easily recommend it and would go back again. The hotel is luxurious and grand and not too expensive but quite reasonable in a city where accommodation is usually high-priced. It is also in a great location next to the Grand Lisboa and Wynn. We were given a great room with an excellent view. Thanks Hotel Lisboa staff! I also stayed on the Taipa Cotai strip, but prefer this side of Macau as this 'old' quarter of town has much more ambience, history and things to see. A few minutes walk from the hotel takes you into the Praça and the Largo do Senado offers you wonderful walks and places to see and shop. There is wonderful Portuguese architecture everywhere. From there you can see all the sights such as the the Ruins of St. Paul's church, Luís de Camões Garden, the fort etc. Also there are lots and lots of places to eat; there are crowds everywhere so you can just mingle and try what some the eateries are offering as a sample. And then of course there are the ubiquitous Portuguese "Pastéis de Nata", or Portuguese pastries or egg-tarts, as they're called here. Not quite as great as in Portugal, but pretty close! We had a dozen or more! We were there over Christmas and the Largo do Senado was beautifully lit up and had many decorations, plus a lot of live music. A great experience overall and I hope to be back one day.

We got a good first impression from them as we asked the staff whether the Q we were in was the shuttle bus from Macau Ferry Terminal to Hotel Lisboa as there is a very long Q. The staff asked whether we have a hotel booking & we have, he then showed us the way to take another shuttle bus which doesn’t have Q & I suppose is just for hotel guests. Upon check in, the reception staff helped us to upgrade our room for free and that was so nice of them. Their bellboy helped us bring our luggages to our room with us & showed us the mini bar & informed us everything in the mini bar is free. Their service is very good! All their staffs are friendly & approachable! Our room is very spacious & nice! It is so comfortable that we were reluctant to leave the room. Hahaa... When we needed directions to the Ruins of St Paul’s, their staff was very nice to bring us a map, explained & drew us the direction there. Again, they are really very nice, friendly & approachable! However, when we needed to take the bus to Macau Airport, we were guided & taken to the wrong place instead. We were brought to the Zhuhai borders instead. As our time is tight, we have no choice but to spend Hk$83 on taxi from the Borders to Macau Airport instead.

Too bad, I forgot to write down the name of those Lisboa Staff who made Our stay there truly commendable. Anyway, I am pretty sure to be back soon in Macau sometime in October and this time will write down the names of Lisboa Staff for commendation. They deserved to be mention in each review. Location is the best”

I love coming back to Macau, small country with many activities to be done. That's why choosing Lisboa is the best option...centrally located and easy to go to many places by walk or taxi. The hotel is huge and amazingly you can find many places to eat whitin the property. I was impressed that the room is specious. The hotel connection/ access to Grand Lisboa is also easy. Btw, I was sick on my 1st night, the staff Mike sent me to Public hospital. Waiting for all procedure done for one hour and sending me back to my room using wheelchair. I thanked him for extramiles he did for me. Never imagined to be sicked in a hotel when travelling. My mom requested to change room with a shower. On Day 2 we moved to new room. This type of room is only 2 units from almost 1000 rooms in this hotel. Thanks to the front office manager who really hard to find us a solution. Should I come vack to Macau in the future, I certainly will choose Lisboa again.

Value for money”

First of all. great service! I booked 2 East Wing Twin Rooms and got a complimentary upgrade to Tower Room for both rooms, which were really spacious. Complete in-room amenities available with free mini bar. The hotel looks old and dated, hence the lower price for a 5-star hotel. The casino is small but you can always head to Grand Lisboa next door if you want a better casino experience. They have a limited free shuttle service, especially for Macau Taipa Ferry Terminal. We arrived at 9:30 PM and the shuttle had stopped operating. We need to take a Wynn shuttle instead. However, the shuttle service to Macau Outer Ferry terminal was great. Location is great with walking distance to Senado Square and Ruins of St. Paul. Overall a great stay and will probably come back when we got a chance visiting Macau again.

Great hotel, but limited free shuttle service”

One factor I wished the hotel could improve on is to cater for a larger quantity shuttle bus and also, it would be nice to bring guests across Cotai/Taipa area. Many a times, I wished to visit the other side of Macau, I have to walk across (although less than 5 mins conveniently) to XXXX hotel and hop on their free shuttle bus instead. Indeed, larger hotels have higher frequency of buses, doesn’t require advance booking, doesn’t care if you see their hotel guests. To sum up, the free shuttle bus provided by Hotel Lisboa is limited and does not bring across Cotai/Taipa area. Also, if you wish to get to airport using Hotel Lisboa shuttle bus service, please book in advance with the reception. It may sound like the guest’s responsibility to book in advance for a seating but I recalled the night before when I asked about my check out timing and I also casually informed reception on the timing I needed to reach airport, there was zero initiative coming from the hotel staff that I should book a seating early with them to the airport. I ended up my trip having to pull my luggages to XXXX hotel and hop on their bus to the airport because the bus from Hotel Lisboa was full. Nevertheless, hotel was located at good spot, walking distance to Senado Square, there were a few 24/7 restaurants within hotel building/Grand Lisboa and nearby. Room was cleaned and there was also a free mini bar.

we visited hotel lisboa from hotel ibis, hong kong and the rooms seemed huge!! it was a pleasure to get the view of macau from the 7th floor of the hotel. right from the ferry terminal we were greeted warmly by the driver to the hotel and then the porter was ready to help in all ways. the hotel room were spacious and the jacauzzi in the room was a delight. the casino in the hotel is small but the connecting bridge to grand lisboa casino is awsome. the swimming pool is small but staff is warm. the menu in room-service is good too with all kinds of cuisines 24hrs. the location too is good if u have to stay on macau island. taxiz are easy to get if one has to go to tapai island. cost of taxis around 60-80 mop.

good location

although lisboa is probably considered one of the smaller and older hotels of this side of macau, i want to say it is still releveant. the wynn, mgm, grand lisboa are all nearby and within in walking distance and are definitely the new macau with bigger hotels and casinos, but the original lisboa still has the classic charm of old macau. the rooms are great and the bathrooms are clean and classy although a little much on the green color, why are the bathrooms all green? the tile, the tub, the toilet, the sink... etc. also wireless internet in all the rooms and the free consessions.

Free upgrade & no need wait

My first trip to Macau. I was cautioned that the language is a BIG problem in this country. But to my surprise, I was welcomed by a very soft spoken and hospitable staff who spoke fluent english and made my check in a pleasure. Its truly a magnificient structure which illuminates with hundreds of thousands of LED bulbs in the night as the tallest and most recognisable structure in the main city of Macau. It is centrally located and has a variety of entertainment options within the premise of the hotel and the adjacent ( with a sky walk connection bridge & an underground subway) old Lisboa hotel. being a vegeterian, i had another fear that i will not have too many options in veg food, but the room service menu had a very decent Veg spread and I enjoyed the Mushroom Risotto to the fullest. The casino was never ending and the shows there made me feel like i was truly in Vegas!!!!

Our stay at the Lisboa hotel was almost perfect. Our check in was smooth and we were upgraded to a bigger room (thanks!). Room was grandly spacious and the bathroom was absolute joy - there was a steam jacuzzi with massaging and audio functions and boy, you don't really want to get out! Our unit was on the 16th floor and we had a gorgeous view of the bridge and river. At night, the buildings are lit up which further adds to its old world charm. All in, if you want a real Macau experience, do try out Lisboa Hotel. You almost feel transported back in time but it was the very experience we had wanted to try when we booked this hotel. Looking at the wonderful upkeep of the hotel, we were surprised to know it is the oldest 5-star hotel in Macau.

great location with lovely service”

big room, prime location makes travelling convenient

check in was quick and efficient. after booking the hotel through agoda, i sent an email to hotel lisboa requesting for additional needs such as high floor with scenic views and i was not disappointed. i added that it was my honey moon trip and was given a free upgrade to a royal suite from a standard west wing. a bus terminal is situated right in front of the east wing of hotel lisboa, making travelling around macau (even to coloane) extremely convenient. many tourist attractions on macau peninsula can be reach my foot given the prime location of the hotel. the bridge to taipa is situated next to the hotel. i had an awesome stay at the hotel, will definitely visit again!

affordable 5-star luxury”

Great location. Almost all the buses stop there. Senado square is a short walk away. Opulent yet affordable.
No breakfast. The passageways between the West Wing and the East Wing can be confusing!

The great thing about Hotel Lisboa -- apart from its obvious luxury -- is its location. Right beside the hotel is a stop for practically all the buses in Macau. If you ever get lost in Macau, just look for the golden lotus shape of its sister hotel, the Grand Lisboa, and you'll know the Hotel Lisboa is just beside it. Senado Square and all its charming side streets are only a brisk 5-minute walk away. The hotel staff are very friendly (well, almost all of them), and they will point out all the must-see spots in your map. If you don't have a map, they'll give you one, and a guide book to boot!
