Very good value for the money ”
I booked a single room, located in the annex. Very cosy room with a normal size for Tokyo. Small double bed (better than a single bed). Very good cleaning. Change the towels everyday. Friendly staff who could give me a non smoking room. Quiet area, with a lot of restaurants, but no noisy, and close to shinjuku or big department stores like Isetan. I highly recommend.

Great Place to stay in Tokyo!”
This place was great! Now, it's not a luxury hotel, but it's pretty dang close! One person room is small, but enough room to move around and rest between my adventures. Staff was wonderful. Bathrooms nice. Great location near trains, Shinjuku, the gay district, and a lot more! I would def stay here again the next time I travel back to Tokyo!

Excellent hotel (just a bit far from train stations)”
We enjoyed and had a lovely time in the hotel. The breakfast was great because we had at least 1 proper meal in a day. Staff were very courteous and tried to assist us as much as they can (with smiles on their faces). The room was clean and they changed the towels, amenities, and the yukata everyday. The location is just a bit far from the train stations (Shinjuku-gyoenmae station is about 10-minutes walk and Shinjuku station is about 20-minutes walk). But it is in a quiet residential area so we got a good night rest. We would recommend this hotel (if walking doesn't matter to you) and will probably stay here again.

Great location. Comfortable”
Very small space. Well laid out. Comfortable for one. Tight for a couple. Difficult for more than two. Small grocery across street. Mini fridge and water warner for tea. You need to bring coffee and milk. Tiny but functional bath. If you are 6 feet watch your head.

Good budget hotel with decent sized rooms”
This 3-star hotel about 20 minutes walk from Shinjuku station (only about 10 minutes walk from the central Shinjuku shopping and dining districts) isn't the easiest to find, but you'll find a clean decent-sized room with helpful staff at a good price. I've stayed here before, and I'd happily book it in again. The only caveat would be that if you wish a non-smoking room, specify it at the time of booking in your requests. My room wasn't advertised as smoking/non-smoking but they put me in a smoking room (I'd assumed it would be otherwise). When I arrived and requested it, however, they were happy to change me to an identical non-smoking room at no charge.

The only comment is that housekeeping person did not wash our cups & glasses and left it on the coffee table (everyday).

Not bad for one night”
Stayed here for one night for new year eve. For the price we paid it’s not bad but location wise it think it’s a little abit far (4.2km) to roppongi and shibuya. There is no nearby train station or bus station or either you walk or get a cab. It will cost you around 2400 yen. Room wise it was okay for the price. Staff as usual all japanese are super friendly and nice.

Budget price and decent location”
Booked the hotel with very minimal expectation, as most budget hotels in Japan are incredibly small or very basic. Hotel Listel shinjuku is no different, room is decently sized and hotel has coin laundry facility. Location is about 10 minutes walk from Shinjuku station and quite close to the bar areas in nichome. Be realistic with your expectation, the room is not the greatest but acceptable at the price i paid for, and i was out exploring Tokyo most of the time and only used the room for sleeping and showering.

Worst hotel I've ever visited”
The room was filthy! I had to grab a vacuum cleaner from a maid and redo my entire room! There was long hair everywhere in the room, in the carpet, bathroom, desk etc. The entire hotel reeks of stale cigarette smoke and the staff were not interested in helping us. We requested a cancellation from the hotel (except the first night) and book another hotel and they flatly said no. They even refused to try to find us another room or even to have our room cleaned again. Terrible, terrible hotel!

Acceptable”
Won’t reccomend this hotel as the staff is not honest and cooperative. I lost my jacket from the hotel room. Don’t know why someone entered the room when we had put do not disturb while we were away. Even after letting them know that I had my jacket in the room and I can’t find it the staff was not helpful at all.

Hotel Review of Hotel Listel Shinjuku in Tokyo”
In November 2009, when I received an invitation to attend a workshop in Tokyo, I immediately browse the web to find a hotel that will suit my budget and one that should be close enough to my workshop venue. Fortunately, I found Hotel Listel Shinjuku. I made a booking through the internet using my credit card. When I finally came to Tokyo for my three day workshop in February 2010, I had no difficulty in going to Hotel Listel from the Shinjuku train station because I had the complete hotel address which I showed to the taxi driver. From the moment I stepped into the hotel lobby, I felt I made the right choice. The staff at the hotel counter were very efficient and helpful. They already had a room ready for me and they offered to help me with my luggage. The room was very very clean and cozy. It has free internet. There was also an ironing board and hair dryer. The toilet- and-bath room was very nice, clean and provides ultra comfort; it has hot and cold water; and the toilet bowl has a water spout that has electronic control. The hotel also provides a tea kettle and green tea inside the toom. If ever I have another opportunity to visit Tokyo, Hotel Listel Shinjuku would surely be my first choice.

Small rooms but very good value for money”
i stayed at hotel listel shinjuku with a friend for 6 nights. getting to the hotel will be straightforward if you check google maps in advance, as it is only a few minutes' walk from the train station (shinjuku-gyoenmae, make sure you take exit one) there are beverage vending machines right outside the hotel (also on our level, 10f) and more importantly, family mart is just nearby as well, if you want to grab late night snacks or other supplies. checking in was surprisingly easy as one of the staff could speak english pretty well. free wifi is provided only in the hotel lobby, and there's a long couch where most people sit to enjoy the free wifi or wait to check-in. rooms are cleaned from 10am-12pm daily (of course this includes the bed being made, towels changed and room decluttered) the room was small, but roomy enough. the bed was surprisingly more than enough space for two! the tv had all basic channels and hd channels (really, ultra hd). there was also a big couch where we could place our two luggages on, a mini fridge and a full length mirror. the washroom consists of a bathtub, toilet and of course the sink area. it's really, really small but i found it kinda cosy and not claustraphobic. the washroom's clean and didn't have any weird smells, which was great. our package included breakfast but we didn't have breakfast at the hotel at all because we wanted to walk around and explore the area in the mornings, so no help there, sorry >_< staff are really friendly, and greet with a smile in the mornings. also, one thing that impressed us was one of the staff's ability to speak mandarin fluently - which helped alot when we were trying to ask if there are any extra charges for checking out late. overall, we definitely enjoyed our stay at hotel listel shinjuku and would definitely recommend it for those who are looking for cosy/comfortable rooms at a budget.

Tokyo adventure”
Tokyo can be an expensive city. But hotels like the Listel Shinjuku show you that quality can be had at a lower price. True, the rooms are on the cosy side, but that's common in space-starved Tokyo. For a clean room, near to train stations, near a main road where cabs are plentiful, and also near quite a number of small restaurants with good, honest food, the Listel Shinjuku is certainly a place i will return to.

Best Biz Hotel in Shinjuku”
The hotel staff are very efficient, pleasant, and helpful, and their fluency in English is good. The rooms are bright, and clean with all that one needs in them. This hotel is conveniently placed for train access, and a good array of reasonably priced Japanese restaurants of all types of cooking. I will stay again at Hotel Listel Shinjuku on my next trip to Tokyo.

A cozy room with an excellent view!”
The room was very clean and comfortable. The shutters were very dark which made it easy to take an afternoon nap in preparation for a long night out in Tokyo ;) Also, the hotel was only a 20 minute walk from Shinjuku Station which was a great bonus and the service was friendly and helpful. I thought that the price was fair for the room and location. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Hotel Listel Shinjuku again.
