Exceptional”
Maison Polanka is an oasis amidst the hot and humid weather of Siem Reap. You immediately feel welcome like staying with family in another place. You stay in bespoke rooms and the staff are excellent. We will surely return and stay here when we visit other temples.

Best. Hotel. Ever. Anywhere.”
Every single detail has been considered, and the traditional Khmer buildings (the reason I booked this) were so comfortable but really very sophisticated with their artwork and furnishings - a perfectly eclectic mix. The grounds are a tropical wonderland and the staff is absolutely superb. Beyond amazing. Superlative. They even rescued a cat stuck in the tip of a bamboo plant, which was really quite an undertaking. Food, drinks and dining was also wonderful and full of touches you see in nice restaurants or lounges. Such a great deal for such an exclusive and luxurious experience.

The Khmer House
Stayed 6 nights in December 2016
A wonderful, elegant upscale boutique retreat property.”
We stayed at Maison Polanka in the Khmer House for eight nights in December, 2016 and all of the previous reviews of this accommodation were spot on- it is a beautiful oasis in Siem Reap! Maison Polanka is located just behind Wat Polanka, in a quiet back street not far from the centre of town (about a 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride). The accommodation is within a lovely garden setting within a secure walled compound. It is comprised of five guest rooms, a nice open-air dining area a small massage hut and very welcoming swimming pool. The Khmer House is separate from the other rooms, has a large bedroom and living area, a large balcony with chairs, a spacious bathroom and a large open sitting area below the house- it is well worth the extra expense if you want to enjoy the luxury of a private space. Breakfasts were good, with a choice of Continental or American, including fresh fruit juice, cut fruit and bread basket. We ate several meals in the restaurant ( both lunch and dinner). The food was well presented, tasty and reasonably priced. The staff of Maison Polanka were professional yet charming and went out of their way to assist us in every way. Francis, Cathy and their support staff ensured every detail of our stay was perfect- from organising our tours of Angkor Wat and surrounding temples to making reservations at restaurants and the circus and reconfirming flights. Additionally, every time we returned from a morning or afternoon out, a member of staff was there to greet us with a warm smile and a cool refreshing towel. The extra touch of providing guests with a local mobile phone is also a great idea- the Maison a Polanka numbers are keyed into the phone ( so you can call if you need any assistance) and you can also use it to make local calls (to book restaurants or call a tuk tuk). We had a great time with one tuk yuk driver that the hotel uses ( Mr Lay) who speaks very good English, was very helpful and very keen on explaining almost anything abou

Peaceful and well-appointed, outstanding staff”
Francis and Cathy made our older parents feel like kings. They loved the ease and beauty of the Khmer House, and enjoyed being welcomed with cold towels and drinks poolside after long hot days at the temples. We appreciated the beautifully appointed rooms and the thoughtful gestures by the staff, from providing umbrellas for the rain, picnic croissants and coffee for the early morning ride to Angkor Wat, and changing our transport from tuk-Tuks to a van due to the bumpier post-rain roads. Maisson Polanka is a very, very special place.

Fantastic oasis close to centre of town”
Beautifully decorated rooms, fantastic garden area, great staff
We had a wonderful three day stay in Maison Polanka and we felt like we were in heaven. It's amazing to find such a quiet location so close to centre of a noisy town like Siem Reap, but the grounds to the hotel were like an oasis. Our room (yellow room) was taskefully decorated and was wonderfully big. Staff was exceptionally helpful both in-house amd knowledgeable with regards to planning trips to the temples. The hotel is quite expensive, but overall I think it was good value for the money. The weaker spot probably was the restaurant - breakfast was delicious but not large servings (but staff was nice to ask if we needed more), and also I must say we had better dinners other places in town, but then again, there are some fantastic restaurants in town so it's hard to fault them that.

Our secret little heaven”
The beautiful hotel itself, the excellent service from the smiling staff, the secluded nature of the venue
One of the best place I've stayed in my whole life and I've traveled extensively! The 2 bungalows were gorgeous and authentic, surrounded by beautiful garden, one feels like in paradise. Due to the small number of rooms in this hotel, we never felt the place being over-crowded or busy, instead it's always quiet and tranquil. Perfect for couples who wants to be away from the crowd and have a romantic gateaway in a busy touristy city. The service from the staff were top class and very personalised, you feel like the VIP guest everyday. Food was excellent, especially the local dishes - the soup noodle that I had for breakfast and the banana flower salad starter. We will definitely be back, and we hope this place remain as authentic as we experienced it.
