Loved the bungalows! So spacious and beautifully decorated. The beach at the property is small but very nice. None of the bungalow's have waterfront views, but the ones on the little lake are great. Food at the restaurant was tasty, and the town of Fare is close by so you can walk to the market and buy some fresh baguettes and cheese during the day. Would definitely recommend staying here if on Huahine!
Beautifully designed hotel right on the beach”
Bungalows are set amid a lake with water lilies and lush tropical landscaping. They are spacious with comfy bed and sitting area, good AC, beautiful modern bathroom, but still in keeping with unique canoe building design. Restaurant is excellent with views of the lagoon. Staff were friendly and helpful and set up a wonderful boat trip for snorkeling, pearl farm visit, and picnic. We highly recommend this hotel if you are staying on Huahine.
Nice hotel with terrible breakfast.”
As far as the hotel rooms and location nothing to say just perfect. Only issue we had was the breakfast, we came late around 9 30 and they were closing the restaurant for breakfast, we asked and were told yes it late so i said i go outside and found something, but the staff insisted for us to stay and they will make something for us, at our surprise they brought us the left overs of fruits which didn't taste good some peices of bread and viennoiseries one plate for both and half full cup of water and just warm wasn't hot for tea i had to request a hot one. Coffee was terrible don't bother. And at the end we had to pay full price, why did u insist for us if you were going to give us leftover and pay for a full buffet if we were limited in choice and refills. We complained the next day at check out but nothing was taking seriously. I feel very disappointed for such behavior even though i appreciate the fact they tried to help, but if u gonna help do it right or don't do it since you incised. Next morning we went for a fresh crepes and much better.
Very appealing, atmospheric villas in a lush tropical setting”
Villas are inspired by traditional Tahitian architecture. Our room was large and comfortable, and had an enticing patio overlooking the small lake. Garden rooms may not be quite so alluring. Lovely pool with an adjoining white sand beach. The hotel is a short walk from the small town. Good buffet breakfast. Dinner was good but not exceptional. There are few upscale accommodations on Huahine, so this hotel is an obvious choice if you want something above the pension. But even with more competition, the hotel would fare well. I'd be happy to return.
The room and the facilities are really nice, but the Restaurant and its service not. The wine comes 5minutes after the main dish for example and not only one time... the hotel personal doesn‘t support you well for booking excursions
Good, But not as good as other options”
this is a fine hotel for what you pay for it, 2nd best on Huahine. Can not beat location, great patios, great staff, really almost perfect. But if you have flown hours to French Polynesia, to experience exclusion, snorkeling , you want to feel like you are away from it all.. this is not hotel for you. This hotel feels like it could be anywhere. Okay, I am from Florida, maybe not if you are from Michigan or Norway. This is a great hotel.
Lovely hotel among other rustic accommodations ”
Each bungalow is stand-alone; none are on the beach, which is accessed by walking back through reception, across the turn-around, then through the restaurant and past the pool. Drinks are delicious and can be taken to the beach. Easy walking distance to the village to local restaurants including food trucks!
We loved every minute of our stay!! Cannot wait to come back...absolute paradise!
Beautiful Hotel close to Fare”
The room (garden side) was beautiful, comfortable, spacious and well decorated, and the bathroom was great! This hotel is charming, the garden is beautiful and it's both close to the beach and the town of Fare. I liked the attention of the welcome and goodbye necklaces, and the local juices at arrival. From the reception to the restaurant, the staff was extremely nice and smiling. Always ready to help! The restaurant is nice, the food is really good and not so expensive given the quality! Direct access to the beach, and a pool with a view on the ocean. You can do a bit of snorkeling from the beach if you like although the waves were strong. The Wi-Fi was good in the bedroom and in the Reception. Also, there is a huge parking outside so you can come with your own car.
Menu not many options; breakfast good but too expensive; moscito net suggested”
When eating lunch and dinner - the menu does not have much to chose from. The food is good but if you want to eat in the restaurant a few days in a row, it is hard to find something. Breakfast is great! ...but very pricy! (Make sure coffee machine works....) The bungalows are great. I do suggest moscito nets for the beds. The rooms have a high ceiling and moscitos are everywhere inside the room - the net would be a great addition. Your staff is great. I work in tourism/expedition management myself and I know it sometimes is a challenging job
We totally enjoyed our stay at Maitai Lapita. The staff was super friendly. The food was great. Room was really big and clean. We would recommend this hotel to someone visiting Huahine.
food was disappointing at restroom, breakfast and dinner and they were way over priced. and hotel beds were hard and bad pillows. but hotel is really neat looking
Very friendly ”
Great location right next to Fare. Bungalows are very spacious. Pool and restaurant area very nice. Beach area is awesome. Very friendly staff. Food was excellent. I highly recommend if you are going to Huahine
Favorite Hotel of the Trip!”
We loved the Maitai Lapita Village! From the moment we stepped through the door, the hotel staff were exceptionally friendly & helpful. The grounds, bungalows, and restaurant were beautiful and well-maintained. We loved the easy access to the beach and main town of Fare. Wouldn't change a thing! Maruru!
Lovely but disappointing”
Lovely resort - the grounds have lots of tropical flowers and fruit trees. There is a very small beach. The location is great since it is close to town. The arrival could have been more welcoming and it would have been nice at such a high end resort to be shown to our room. Airport is about 5 minutes away and they charge $10 per person to pick you up and then $10 pp to drop you back off to the airport! Really a disappointing gouge at a high-end resort! They also offer expensive half board (breakfast and lunch or dinner). You have to sign up for this for your entire stay. Who really wants the same buffet breakfast stuff everyday?? We did have dinner one night at the restaurant which was good. The town is less than a mile away. There are restaurants, stands and food trucks in town. Get a quiche or freshly made crepe for @ $2.50 - $4 or a french baguette, brie cheese and pate from the market. There is a fun, local and very good restaurant and bar about a 6 min walk called the Huahine Yacht Club. This was the last place we stayed in French Polynesia. We were celebrating a big anniversary and the other hotels made our stay very special. The Maitai Lapita made no attempt to acknowledge our special occasion in any way.
Best hotel on the island”
Everything was amazing! One of the best hotel we ever stayed at.
Precioso hotel en un lugar ideal. Muy tranquilo. Tiene playa propia y piscina. Instalaciones magníficas. Buena cocina. Personal genial!
