The hotel is very clean. Room is very clean. Breakfast is so good taste. I'm so appreciate with the quality of material that they using in their hotel. Everything's is so good, especially with the Bed!! The Bed is so comfy and no pain on the bed at all. The pillow is great. But its be better is they have a side pillow. Nothing complain!!

Maybe this was once a more upscale hotel, but now it is only the shadow of itself. Things are falling apart, the design and functionality of the suite I was in was poor (nowhere to put your luggage, the tiniest closet I've ever seen in a hotel, poor bathroom functionality, etc.), the bathroom sink was constantly leaking and no repair was done (they came when I noticed it on day 1, and they just wiped dry the floor, but the problem remained and it kept leaking!), and the cleaning was anything but spotless! Certains parts of the room had clearly not been touched in a while, and the cleaning that was actually done was very lacking. It is farther from city center so unless you have a motorcycle you will pay between 100 and 200 baht each way every day, and even though the hotel is close to a lively street with shops and restaurants, the lot it is in overlooks an unappealing view (parking lot + abandoned and overgrown empty lot). All these things would not have bothered me if the hotel was not being presented as a "premium" hotel. There's only one staff member who barely speaks English, so it would be hard for you if you have any request or questions. The hotel was pretty deserted so it was definitely quiet when I was there in late October 2022... I am not giving a too low score because I understand the challenges that many hotels have faced and are still facing due to the effects of covid-19, but I have been to other and more modest hotels in Chiang Mai that have kept their cleaning standard high, so that is something that everyone could do. If it wasn't for their no-refund policy, I would have left the hotel after day one. It was disappointing. I will not go back to Hotel Matana.
