Lovely Hotel in a Great Location”
gat folies is a lovely hotel. i visited paris with a friend in june 2012 for 5 days and it was perfect for our trip! i would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone! great location. you can walk to loads of places! even to the louvre. nearest station we always went to was grand boulevard, but also cadet. easy access and close to gare du nord. we stayed in a standard double room and although not a massive room, i wouldn't say it was small.. it was big enough for two girls. the decor and furniture is trendy, modern, clean, almost ikea style but with a retro/feel. the room has a massive double bed, that could easily fit 3 people! the most important factor to me was that it was really clean! our room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels and i was really pleased about the service. the shower was hot, powerful and clean. electronic safe was useful and the free wifi was brilliant. lots of restaurants around the area. there's a handy supermarket across the street or if you walk towards grand boulevard there's a carefour city. also o'sullivans on grand boulevard is a really cool irish pub on the corner to go to! we didn't try the breakfast but walked to close bakeries in the morning. its the best looking hotel on the street and i love the hotel sign at night. the only thing i would say about the hotel is that is it really hot. as soon as you walk in you can feel the heat. there is no ac only a fan (that we were very grateful for) in your room. we had to sleep with the window open. also there is not much storage for your clothes, so we would just have to keep our clothes in our suitcases. it didn't really bother me but may bother other people. i would definitely recommend to staying here though!

Clean, comfortable and convenient”
We travelled to and from Paris through Gare du Nord. We could've walked to the hotel and back, but used the metro first then a taxi. Both were fine and the taxi cost less then 10 Euros from memory. Our friend stayed near Gare du Nord and felt very unsafe - the location of Gat Folies is much better. We had breakfast in nearby cafes - there was no shortage of good looking places to eat or drink nearby. Wanted to try nearby Chartiers restaurant, but it had very large queues. When we felt like it, we walked into central Paris (the river, Islands, Louvre). It took about 20 minutes and was an experience in itself for the first time visitor to Paris. The hotel itself is little and clean. Staff were nice and everything was easy. My only criticism is that being on the top (6th) floor our room had low ceilings on one side and one side of the shower. But since we weren't spending a lot of time in their I didn't bother asking to change. The bed was great, the room was dark and we slept like logs.

Fabulous as it's centrally located ”
Will definitely stay in this hotel again for my next visit. Friendly and helpful staffs. They allowed me to put my luggage in their hotel for 3 nights while I'm away to PAris without charging a penny. My next hotel required me to pay instead. The hotel is near to Opera and La Fayatte and major attractions. There are two nearby tube which is accessible to all major tourist attractions. Room is big. We got a room for triple with two large beds. Will visit again.

Great location, lovely service”
Hotel Gat Folies was modern and clean, both a plus point. Bathroom was small but very cute. Room was compact but bed was large, which was the most important for me. The room was designed to incorporate as much amenities as possible in a small space, and it worked for me. Only complaint will be the lack of soundproofing for the rooms - you can hear everything outside of the door, which made early morning vacumning by the housekeeper a big pain when you are not ready to wake up by 8am on a holiday.

Excellent location, clear rooms”
the location of the hotel was excellent, near opera garnier and 2 metro stations (cadet and grands boulevards). rooms were small but we did not feel it since every space of the room is very well organized. towels and shampoos (bio by korres) were replaced daily. wi-fi access to every area of the hotel (rooms, lobby). we had room 306, which was a little noisy but we enjoyed the street view and definitely the hotel can be characterized as value for money.

room fitted two adults and luggage quite comfortably. staff nice and helpful. location is its only down point, bit far from everything but i think everything is so spread out in paris that no matter where you stay you're not going to be close to everything! breakfast was nice too!

Fantastic except breakfast.”
Best hotel I've been too, except for breakfast. Upon arrival, I was told the times breakfast was served. Me and my girlfriend went to breakfast three times over three days. On checkout, we were told it was 75 euros, 25 euros a day!! Nobody had mentioned any prices, nor were there signs in the little café to even suggest that the breakfast did not come with the room. Luckily we hadn't spent all our money, otherwise we would have been very very stuck.

lovely hotel. i liked that it was very clean, new and modern. however, the room is very small. there was barely any walking space or place to put our luggage down. we only stayed there for one night, so it was fine.

Comfortable, restful, quiet”
My family really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was not that big but we were comfortable.It was close to the MRT so it was easy for us to go places. The breakfast food was okay. The staff was kind and courteous.

Reasonable”
The hotel staff were good anf helpful and the location was what we wanted mid-way between Gare Du Nord and sightseeing spots on the East-side. And, all in all, it was a reasonable hotel, however, it's clearly trying to be a young, cool, hip hotel and it sort of comes off looking more like a cheap wannabe instead. Nothing wrong with the place, it just doesn't quite get it right. Would happily stay here again for a one night stop, but not for anything longer.

the staff was very helpful but the room is very small, we didnt really stay in the room during the day so it didnt bother us much, the location is very good, close to the Gare du Nord station if traveling by eurostar, about 15 mins walk i would say, and is also close to the metro station, on line 7 and line 9. the breakfast was ok, not much variety of food to choose from but taste is up to standard.

o.k for young people but not so if you are over 40”
the hotel is clean, but rooms are very small and it cater mostly for young people taste. rooms are very basic and there is not much there. it has the modern look, maybe too much, so if you are over 40, you probably want to look for another option. the price is way too much, for what you get. you can find a much better hotel in the same area, for this price.
