Imagine living in an Italian-designed, New York apartment near Times Square and you'll have an idea of what it's like at this boutique hotel. Located between West 44th and Broadway, the Hotel Mela Times Square is obvious in its boutique approach to hospitality with a staff that is friendly and attractive, a design that is ultra modern, and a lot of little unexpected perks. The position of the hotel right in the theater zone means everything is within walking distance, including the Central Park, the Empire State Building, and the shopping of Fifth Avenue. In the rooms, boutique extras create a special experience, like hip high-end toiletries, free Wi-Fi, an MP3-playing alarm, and a wall-mounted LCD TV. On top of that, friendly and sincere service from the hotel's manager and staff ensures a satisfying stay.

Great staff, fantastic location, cool vibe”
My 13 year old daughter and I arrived at Hotel Mela at 6:30 am after flying in from Los Angeles on the red-eye flight. The staff was very accomodating. Roger found an available room for us right away so we could nap for a couple of hours before heading out for the day. We really appreciated that. It would have been a rough day if we hadn't been able to check in early! Thank you! The hotel has a very cool vibe and the location is fantastic. The staff was very helpful with directions and recommendations. Thank you Hotel Mela! We will definitely recommend your hotel to all our friends and family travelling to New York.
Awesome location that can't be beat!”
Spent a few nights at Hotel Mela at the beginning of April 2014. Chose the hotel due to its proximity to Broadway/Times Square -- boy is it close by! Excellent location, and yet I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the street the hotel is on is very quiet and peaceful after midnight. Hotel room was quite small but OK for a solo traveler like myself. I would recommend Hotel Mela to anyone who doesn't want to travel far to/from the Theater District.
Location Location Location”
located on 44th street, hotel mela doesn't have all the traffic as the neighboring streets. easy to get to and close to all trains. this boutique hotel has small rooms that are cozy. the size does not bother me since we're only sleeping there. there is also a cute bistro downstairs that we did not get a chance to dine in....next time! reasonably priced on agoda, helpful staff, and comfortable. i will probably check this place out again when i visit new york.
A great hotel central to everything”
This was my first time in Manhattan. The staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. The hotel is perfectly positioned to explore NYC. Even though Times Square is at the end of the block you would never know. This part of W44th St has plenty of places to eat witin walking distance. Try the Red Flame Diner for breakfast. The room was very clean and well presented and the bathroom relatively spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable also. Will be back to Hotel Mela again. Highly recommended.
lovely hotel and service with a smile”
we had a great time at the hotel, very friendly staff especially a girl named giovana at the reception, she was soooooo sweet and helpful and greeted us as if we were family, the location was amazing, very clean and spacious rooms, had everything we needed and more, couldnt have stayed at a better place,we actually went and stayed at the marriott marquis for a few nights after our stay at hotel mela but we were alot more satisfied with hotel mela, would definetly recomend it and would love to stay there again, look no further, its the best option out there
Very comfortable hotel at a wonderful location!”
Had a very comfortable 6N stay in Hotel Mela in March. Location is great; right smack where all the action is. Close to plenty of restaurants, Broadway, Port Authority and a subway entrances. Front desk is polite and very helpful. For the price, this hotel to me is an obvious choice if you are looking to stay in Times Square.
Great boutique hotel in the heart of Times Square”
Pleasantly surprised by Hotel Mela. It's well located to Times Square and the theatre district. Great bars and restaurants nearby and close to Bryant Park or Rockefeller Center subway stations. The room was good, clean, modern and had everything a leisure or business traveller needs. This was a great find and very good value for money. We would definitely stay again.
The stay was great over all, great location.”
Located just about a minute from Times Square and there is a decent sushi bar called Sushi Zen next to the hotel. The subway (42nd/TimeSq) is just about 2 blocks away. My room was pretty big for a hotel in the city, but it was in the corner where outside has all the ventilation and A/C machines making loud sounds every hour or so. I was quite surprised that the house keeper kept knocking on my door since 10AM, then again around 11, and when she knocked again around 12pm, I had to tell her to come later after 2PM. This was my first time in New York so I'm not sure if house keeping usually starts before noon or not.. But in other countries that I've visited, they usually come after noon to avoid disturbances to the guests.
Clean Hotel and half a block to Times Square!”
It was an excellent experience staying at this lovely hotel with big red apples at the counter and free newspaper upon check-in, they hold our 3 luggages for us before check in time as we got to eat and took a stroll to Rockeffeler Center which is just 2-blocks away! Very close to fifth avenue shopping district! Restobars nearby Hotel Mela! Very friendly staffs! We will definitely recommend to everyone visiting NYC for a cheap price in a 4 star hotel!!!
Excellent hotel in the heart of Times Square”
The location of the hotel is excellent. located in the heart of new york, times square, this hotel is near subway and bus terminals. Definitely would go back to this hotel in the future. Hotel staff especially Jojo assist to our needs on the hotel

We are thrilled that we provided a PERFECT experience and exceeded your expectations in all areas. We do hope and trust this experience makes you a loyal guest of Hotel Mela whenever your travels bring you to NYC. Thanks again for your feedback and we wish you all the best!
Hotel Mela is in a great location, a stones throw from Times Square. Having said that it is on a quiet cross street, which made it relatively peaceful for NYC. The rooms were decorated in an attractive contemporary style and while not exactly massive were perfectly adequate in size.
Hotel in a Great Location!”
The hotel location is virtually steps away from the busiest street in New York City and the broadway theatres are just 5-10 minutes away. Hotel took note of my request to be placed in a quiet room and although there was no view, I had a comfortable sleep. Hotel Mela also accepts online shopping on your behalf before you arrive in NYC and that totally rocks! Love the H2O toiletries provided in the bathroom too.
Comfy, hip, great location. Loved the bathroom products. Wished I could have stayed there longer. When I choose a hotel I like to make sure that the rooms look really clean, and that the beds have a great cozy comforter with crispy white sheets. Bingo! Hotel Mela had it all! Price is reasonable too!
Lovely hotel, great service, steps from Times Sq”
Great stay at Hotel Mela, had been advised prior to arrival that a high floor had been reserved for us however on arrival was given very small room on 2nd floor with street noise hard to ignore. Quick call to reception and we were moved to a much more spacious room on 7th floor, noise from the higher floor was much less evident. Staff v friendly, I had booked trip for my fiances 30th, JP, the desires rep at the hotel, dropped up a card wishing my fiance a happy bday & a little collection of sweets! Nice little gesture. Rooms cleaned every day, sheets changed etc. Great location, would not hesitate in bkg this hotel again although would have to be high floor in King sized room rather than Queen.
Great location, good service, but a bit small”
I was already mentally prepared that the room would be small, so I was not too taken aback when stepping into the room. Although it was a Superior Room, it was still pretty small, and I had problems placing the suitcases. However, given the fact that this is Manhattan, New York, this can be forgiven. The best part of the hotel is that the location, it is really close to Times Square, and is a stome's throw from many attractions. Watching shows is especially convenient, and so is shopping. The staff is very helpful, and attends to request promptly. They deserve my applause.
Great location, good value, friendly helpful staff, would definitely stay again ”
This hotel is right in the middle of everything we wanted to see and by times square! We walked everywhere and even when we went Manhattan the subway is right around the corner! It wasn't noisy at night (apart from a few people slamming doors) and the bed was so comfy! Had tea/coffee maker, hairdryer, cleaner came in every day put fresh towels if you needed them. We were at the back of hotel so no view and pretty dark but if your only using it for somewhere to sleep then you won't be disappointed! The receptionist even helped us order a pizza to our room! Highly recommend staying here. We stayed here 5 nights and couldn't fault a thing!

Very comfortable room, excellent location. Overall, great value for money.”
An ideal base for a few days of exploring New York. Just a few steps to Times Square, Broadway, 5th Ave etc etc etc. A no fuss booking process through Agoda and very smooth and efficient reception staff.
Great location, very pleasant staff”
Very impressed with Hotel Mela. 200m from Times Square. Very attentive staff - we were caught up in Hurricane Sandy and the staff could not been more helpful. Stuck in the hotel however highlighted the lack of bar/restaurant . Would recommend the hotel highly and will certainly consider booking this hotel again through Agoda in the future
Good hotel in a great location”
I was in a double room, so of course paying double room prices, however, I can't imagine what it would have been like if my husband had come with me because the room was so small. There was only a small communal area and no dining in the hotel. For me room quality and cleanliness are the most important and both of these were very good. The bed was excellent with top quality sheets. Perfect location for being alone in New York, the area was very safe and just minutes walk from Times Square
The location of the hotel is perfect!!! You literally step out the door... Make a left walk to the end of the block and bam! You are in Time Square, I loved it. The staff always wore a genuine smile and bent over backwards to help me and other guests. The day I arrived there was a huge group (HUGE) from Europe checking in, I was overwhelmed just looking at it but the staff handled the situation with precision and with a smile. They didn't hesitate to bring me salt, pepper and ice so that I could enjoy my meal (meal was not from room service). Finally on my last day I requested a late check out and was allowed to stay till 2pm...like I said PERFECTION!!! Stay 4/9-4/13
