The room is quite spacious, suitable for 4 people without feeling crowded. If you choose a room with a window, you will have a view of the street. But if you choose a room without a window, it will face the breakfast area, although there will be curtains to close it. Breakfast starts from 6:30-9:30, it would be better to come early because it gets crowded later, as this hotel is popular among tour groups, including Chinese children, elderly groups, and families. The hotel is located near Xiamen Station, so if you have luggage, you can take Exit 4 and turn left to the hotel, which is not far to walk. But if you take Exit 4 and walk straight to 7-11, it will be a bit longer, although the path is smoother. However, if you don't have luggage, it's more convenient to take Exit 5. The staff provides good service, although some of the housekeeping staff cannot communicate in English, they are still helpful. Overall, it's a good hotel and I highly recommend it.

At first, I was worried about the room being dusty and musty like some other reviewers mentioned because my child is allergic to dust. But I decided to take a chance and book anyway. Turns out, during my stay, the hotel was undergoing renovations for both the rooms and lobby. The new renovations were on the 2nd floor. The staff was great, even though it was self check-in, they provided excellent service and assistance. The housekeeping cleaned the room every day (you have to press the button to request it). The room was clean and fresh, with no musty smell. I slept comfortably for all 4 nights. The location is also great.

Booked a room with 2 large beds, no windows, not too small. The room had an automatic toilet which was nice, but some buttons didn't work. The bed was comfortable and the room was cleaned daily by housekeeping. The room was also quite soundproof. The bathroom wasn't too small, but the shower flooded because there was no partition. The hotel is very close to the MRT, just a few steps away from exit 5, but actually closer to exit 4. There is an escalator to help with luggage.

Along the way, there are many delicious convenience stores and bakeries. You'll pass by Papa Ice and find Takao1972 hot pot restaurant under the hotel, where you can get a 10% discount if you stay at the hotel. It's suitable for those who don't want to eat buffet-style, starting at 318 TWD. It's delicious, filling, and worth the price. I recommend trying the three types of soup: Japanese (clear broth), spicy (not too spicy), and Korean (haven't tried it). The hotel's cleanliness is well-maintained, with daily cleaning and replenishment of supplies. Two bottles of water are provided daily, and breakfast starts at 6:30 am. I recommend going down early because after 7:30 am, it gets crowded and there won't be enough tables, and you'll have to compete for food.

Upon booking Midtown Richardson, we were excited by the beautiful photos online. However, our enthusiasm quickly faded upon arrival. The entrance was packed with people waiting, and the first reception area was empty, with dusty monitors and keyboards covered in cobwebs. A security guard, the only staff member present, directed us to the second level for check-in. While the hotel boasts nice interiors, the lack of maintenance was evident. Our room, a family suite with no windows, felt claustrophobic. At 5’3”, I could easily reach the low ceiling. Unlike the online photos that depicted curtains, our walls were bare, making the room feel like an isolation cell. Shortly after settling in, my kids discovered leftover fried chicken and a dead centipede between the couch and bed. When I reported this, housekeeping merely vacuumed the carpet without offering an apology. The room also had an unpleasant smell, reminiscent of smoke or wet wood, which we initially ignored in an attempt to stay positive. However, by the third night, the smell of smoke intensified, and our room began to fill with a foggy haze. When I complained, the staff offered to change our room, but we were told to pack our luggage by 11 am and wait until 3 pm for the new room. This was an unreasonable inconvenience for a family with young children. After speaking with Chris, I insisted on an immediate room change and an upgrade to a room with windows. Chris was understanding, quickly acknowledged their fault, apologized, and promptly provided us with a new room. Additionally, during the first few days, we kept taking the subway exit 5, which amusingly resembled the first room we had—almost creepy in its similarity. Eventually, we discovered exit 4, which offered a pleasant walk with Louisa Cafe, 7/11 and restaurants along the path. Take EXIT 4 guys! Overall, our stay at Midtown Richardson was marred by poor maintenance, inadequate cleaning, and subpar service. While the hotel has potential, significant improvements are needed in cleanliness and customer care.
