A well located but dated hotel with excellent staf
Location, staff, price
The Hotel Mielparque in Nagoya is a throwback to the days when it was built -- but that's not really a good thing. Before I knock them down a peg, I should point out the positives. They are well located whether you're driving or taking public transit. As with every hotel in Japan, the staff is top-notch. They strive to serve their guests well and it really shows. Unfortunately, an attentive staff can't breathe life back into outdated rooms. The rooms are clean and well maintained, but they're horribly dated. The beds are hard and uncomfortable and the sheets are hardly comfortable. Two of the three people in my group slept poorly and we all wished the room had seen some freshening in the last 30 years. If they renovate the rooms -- or at least replace the mattresses and sheets -- they'll be a much better place. Regardless, they are still well priced and I would consider staying again.

A 3 star hotel in a quiet neighbourhood
near to subway, quiet surrounding and room comfort
I recall it was a bad timing as this hotel is one of the few available left even at the price of $180+. Hence my rating for value for money is 3. Next to subway and JR train station is another about 100 to 200m away. It is quite a different 'feel' from those hotels I usually stay at JR shinkansen station. I recall there are some food (about two to three) in my walk around search within a 200 to 300m radius if I recall correctly. You will not go hungry.

Comfy hotel. Boring city. No room service
Clean. Easy to choose a room. Helpful staff
It's a fine hotel, but there was nothing in the way of room service. Breakfast was perfectly awful, for the price. If you're a businessman passing thru, it would be fine. A better deal would be to get a place near Sakae station. More action there. There was NO ROOM SERVICE. No bell hop. The opens the door for ya but nobody helps with your bags. Not sure what's up with that nonsense. Nagoya is not exactly a touristy city anyway. But all of Japan is lovely and virtually crime-free. And Japanese people are as polite as you will ever see in Asia.

Modern and large hotel near subway station Chikusa
International class hotel with very reasonable rate. Large room with modern toilet amenities
I was very pleased with this hotel for its convenient location to Chikusa subway station (just 2 minutes walk from exit to hotel entrance) The hotel was definitely built to international standard. Comparable to hotel like Hilton Nagoya but charged a much discounted room rate for similar standard of room and amenities. And I liked the free internet in room and free wifi in the lobby. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nagoya either for leisure or business. Minus point was some front desk staff didn't speak and understand good English

great location
large rooms, clean air
I have stayed in twin room with my parents. The room was very large and the beds are twin while the extra bed is single sized bed. Everything was perfect. We all really satisfied with our staying.
