A new hotel with very clean rooms. Housekeeping change your bedding everyday. Very powerful hot shower and wifi is fast which is a treat traveling from Bagan. The buffet is on 9th FL with a nice view of the city. It's quite substantial and delicious.

lovely hotel not in tourist area. ”
I can't recommend this hotel enough. Room is very clean and new. Aircon works perfectly. Check in and check out easily. They let me check out late. No question asked. Breakfast at the 9th floor so you have the view of the whole city. Food is good but seems to run out soon so come early. Opposite is a lovely cafe call LA LA and they have good cake too. Just wall out of the hotel and find a motorbike taxi man to take you around Mandalay. They're very honest and lovely.

    Second stay”
This was my second stay at this hotel - and the online price had gone down by $10 since last time, so definitely value for money! A comfortable place to stop off at on the way from Myitkyina to Hpa'an. Helpful staff who got my bus ticket for me, Just wish that I could work out how to stop the air conditioning blowing an Arctic gale are me - glad I could open the window instead.

    Comfortable and pleasant”
Though a bit small, the room was comfortable and pleasant. Perhaps the label 'city view' could be changed to allow for the option of 'street view'. A bit of a walk to get to some of the main places to visit, but manageable and very handy for the railway station. Being the tallest building in the area does give it the advantage of being relatively easy to find.

A very good place to stay in Mandaly”
    Location, rooms, breakfast
We have spent ten days in Myanmar, and this was our best hotel. It is in a great location right in the center of the city. It's very close to a market and a shopping center, there's also some good restaurants nearby. All the motorcycle taxi drivers know where this hotel is, which is great. The hotel itself is quite pleasant, the decor is, well, noveau riche, but the rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfasts are quite good and plentiful. The only thing that could be improved is the staff. I believe they could use some extra training. Aside that, it is definitely a good place to stay.

new & cosy room and bathroom”
    new, beautiful, cosy
(+) The room was new, beautiful, cosy, clean and quite big. Same impression with the bathroom and there was a bathtube. The staff was usually sweet and helpful. Breakfast was quite ok with a decent choice of different food. Free wifi with reasonable speed if I remember well. Free safety box in room. I didn't find the location amazing but it's near Diamond Plaza where you can exchange money. I found the usual streets in Mandalay depressing, so I recommend u to use the main street (78th) which looks more clean and lively. Hint: pronounce "motee hotel", smth like "more tea please". (-) The staff may sometimes give you wrong information (such as Mingun ferry schedule), so I suggest to double verify it if it is important for your incoming trip. The fitness area on the top floor (or the one before) is in ruins. It is still usable, but totally unmaintained and full of dust/bugs. They actually now use the place as a store room for old objects. So don't choose this hotel for the gym, it should be removed from the description of the hotel actually.

    Under-rated Hotel, Excellent customer service”
    Staff; Cleanliness; and value.
Stayed here during the last leg of 12-days of journey to Myanmar. The level of comfort in this hotel was like finding an oasis in a desert, in comparison to all of my previous stays in this journey. The hotel staffs have an obvious weakness of unable to communicate in English. And, I wasn't expecting anyone to be able to speak English fluently, given this history, culture and political state of the country.Their eagerness to assist me and their use of non-verbal way to communicate me enriched my experience in Myanmar. The staff in the reception, the room cleaning lady, breakfast serving staff, - all of them were nice, approachable, and always looking out for you. One time, I ran out of money (Kyat), because banks refused to take my Money because it was a little torn the day before. It was Sunday, so banks were closed. I was panicking. A hotel staff named Shan Lay saw me panicking and figured out that I needed money. Please note that he has a limited skill in speaking English. He came to me, and gestured me to come with him. He had his OWN car. He told me not to worry, he knows a place that is SAFE AND open. He took me there and I was able to exchange my money, AND was able to go buy my lunch. He also took me to a restaurant so that I could have my lunch. He didn't tKe money for service. He even had hard time taking a lunch from me. He did all this to me with smile in his face. Now, he is my friend. (Dear Friend Shan, if you are reading this, your thoughtfulness on that day, has left ever lasting impression on me, about you, your hotel and Myanmar). Please note, if you are a person who need hotel staff with a skill of verbal English, this hotel may not be suitable for you.

    3 Days In Mandalay”
modern, clean and helpful friendly staff
This was a very good experience, the hotel has everything you would want from a modern hotel in a city. The rooms and communal areas were spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly. One evening we wanted to go out to eat and had a list of places from Lonely Planet. We asked about a taxi and one of the staff offered to drive for us. 4 of the 5 places were closed and the last was probably about to but we ate there. The staff member just waited for us and then drove us back to the hotel. That is good service. Here is a tip for travellers who like to eat local. Only ever eat when the locals eat, only eat at busy places and if you get ill be prepared for 48 hours in a hotel room. Our choice of restaurant from LP was not good. I became ill with food poisoning and spent a day in bed. When we had to check out I was still ill and the hotel allowed us to check out 6 hours later than normal for only $10, that is great service. Go to Moe Thee you won't be disappointed.

    A Good Stay”
Early check-in. Helpful front office manager. Big breakfast buffet.
Reading from the review about early check-in, I had decided to give this hotel a try. I knew I needed the additional sleep as Myanmar night buses would arrive too early in the morning. I was happy to be shown into my room immediately by one sleepy staff member. The room was acceptable, with comfortable bed. The outdoor view was good from my room, although the best view was on the 9th floor. The front office manager was helpful to arrange tour by motorcycle for me. He was also helpful in getting the bus ticket for me. Location-wise, I would have to say that this hotel was just alright, given that in Mandalay, tourist sites were scattered. Just round any corner, and you might find ready motorcyclists who would fetch you for a price. Unfortunately, they did not speak English. The breakfast was good. You could stuff yourself up well and save money from skipping lunch. The manager was kind enough to even offer me breakfast on the day I checked in early.

    Cleanliness, modern amenities, helpful staff
It was okay. Only complaint would be not much hot water in shower, but plenty in sink. So I used the sink to bathe. Staff was helpful but English was minimal and some old Chinese guy was looking over the shoulder and making useless comments while desk staff was trying to help me.

good location, friendly staff, new and clean hotel”
staff and the management are attentive and nice, clean rooms, location is very good. easy access to major tourist spots, shopping mall and transportation.
My stay in this hotel is very good! Highly recommended to all travellers and visitors of Myanmar whether on business trip or vacation/tourism or on budget traveling. I am a budget traveler and this hotel is one of the affordable hotels in Mandalay but I got more than what I paid for. The hotel staff and management are the best. They are nice, friendly, attentive and helpful. The hotel is very new so you can expect that the rooms and all the things inside the hotel are new, clean, organize and well maintained. They allowed me to stay in the room until 6:00pm even I already checked out 12noon while waiting for my bus. Before my departure, they offered me a traditional burmese snack. They are so kind to do this for a hotel guest. And they also brought me to the bus station and even helped me to buy bus ticket. They also have standby power generator. The wifi is working. Hot & Cold shower is working good. Good water pressure. Minibar available in the room. Safety deposit box available in the room. Good security. CCTVs are all over the hotel. You get a nice view of the city at their restaurant. One thing I want to suggest is that I hope there are more TV channels so that foreigners like me would be able to watch some shows in english. Other than that, the hotel is very nice for the price I paid. Two thumbs up!

    Hotel full of character!”
Mandalay is a fairly spread out city, so although there are a number of good restaurants and sights to see nearby such as the gold leaf workshop, most of the tourist attractions are a short taxi ride away. The staff haven't got the best grasp of english but we were able to just about communicate with them and they were all very cheerful and accommodating to all our needs. The staff were definitely a positive! The room was big with a great view and a comfortable bed and good aircon, but there was an overwhelming smell of mothballs, which dampened the experience a bit. The gym was currently under maintenance and the restaurant on the top floor could do with a bit of tlc. All in all a very interesting stay was had at the hotel moe thee, but I couldn't help but think that they have a long way to go before reaching their potential.

I'd recommend this hotel. Staff are friendly and very accommodating, though not all speaks English. Room was spacious and bathroom is clean. Free breakfast on the 9th floor. Gym was dirty though, it'll be good if they maintain it as it was one of the main reasons why we booked their hotel. Otherwise, I'd still recommend them. All of our transport were arranged with them. 15000k for motorbike, which should be returned by the evening. Not sure with their airport shuttle as they never replied to our request.

I stayed at 3 different hotels during my 6-day trip in Myanmar and Moe Thee is the best hotel; new hotel, new, clean and nice room and facilities. Standard rooms include bathtubs, hair-dryer and comfortable beds, especially the wifi is excellent. I really had a good stay at Moe Thee. The hotel is near to market, so it's convenient for you to walk around and buy some food and fruits. However, the hotel staff cannot speak English much.

Modern hotels and great value at discounted rate!”
This was the only hotel we stayed at in Mandalay, so we don't have much to compare. The hotel itself is new and relative to much of Mandalay very clean. It has a nice elevator, good AC, stable power and hot water and the staff is very friendly. Expect some language barrier as with most of Mandalay at this time. Our main complaint was an overwhelming smell of mothballs coming from the wardrobe. We temporarily removed them and the room freshened up. Additionally, breakfast was decent, but identical the three days we stayed. Breakfast ends at 9am, but most of the food is gone or a bit stale after 8am. Overall, a good value and we extended our stay a night.

Agoda price is not guaranteed unless prebooked.”
    Spacious, clean, great shower
When I arrived to Mandalay, I realized the hotel was close the the SIM card office, so I just walked to the hotel. I asked to have the online rate, but was told that rate was not available. When I showed the rate was still posted on Agoda with an availablilty for up to three rooms, I was told that I could only get that rate if I pre-booked. I then pre-booked the room and received a confirmation. I was then told that the rate wasn't available, and I needed to upgrade. After a long discussion, I suggested we call Agoda and have them decide what was fair. They chose to honor the confirmed rate from Agoda. The room itself was spacious, clean and had a nice view.
