Excellent value for money plus good location with short walk to MRT”
I had a brief but excellent stay in Hotel Mono when I was there last December. The room I stayed in was small, but it is comfortable and meets my requirements and expectations as a solo traveler. I had no trouble getting a good night's sleep as the location was quite quiet. There are plenty of dining options around the hotel itself, all of which are within walking distance (a few of them are actually just beside the hotel). The walk to the nearest MRT is not far. Hotel staff is quite lean, so I did not get the opportunity to interact with them, nor did I intend to, as they did their job in keeping the room clean and tidy everyday which was what mattered to me. I am not too sure about the facilities described in their listing as I also did not care for it as I was out most of the time during my stay. If it was about the toiletries and amenities, then be rest assured that they do provide it. Overall, I would definitely stay here again if I were to return to Chinatown Singapore.
Excellent accomodation”
Checked-in at 1:00 pm and there is a room already available. As soon as I entered the room, it smells so good, beddings are crisp and white, the whole room was clean and the interior was very urban and modern minimalist. I enjoyed this accommodation tremendously, slept well and the shower was awesome! Miss Cassandra Dias of the reception was very upbeat and pleasant. I won't hesitate coming back to Hotel Mono in my next trip to Singapore. Plus factor is the proximity of the Metro Station in Chinatown.
For the budget conscious and design savvy”
Conveniently located in the heart of Singapore Chinatown, Hotel Mono is the answer to the budget-conscious and design savvy traveller. Only in its third week of operations, I found the pricing competitive, rooms comfortable (and clean!) and service attentive - already planning a visit back!
Excellent central hotel, good value for money”
I spent nearly two weeks at Hotel Mono. The location is excellent, very central, close to Chinatown MRT and with lots of good places to eat nearby. The hotel is converted from 100-year-old shophouses, but is presented in a modern, minimalist style. The conversion means that the rooms are quite small and you may not get much natural light - my room faced onto an internal light-well, which meant keeping the blind down so as not to see into the neighbouring room across the other side! Room amenities are great, with a desk, chair, fridge, free water, various freebie toiletries and a nice little shower room and toilet. The WiFi works pretty well and the staff are friendly and helpful. I think my only complaint is that the rooms are not very well ventilated, so can smell a bit stale when you come in if you’ve been out all day. Air conditioning worked well though.
Great Hotel”
Hotel Mono is a boutique hotel and was just 3 weeks open during my stay last Dec. 2016. This is a great hotel if you are on a budget. The room was new, clean and had all the basic amenities I needed. The only concern was the toilet being too close to the wall and sink, but still manageable. The staff are really nice and accommodating. This hotel is also in a great location in Chinatown, near the MRT and most of the Chinatown shops but not on the really busy streets, so it is not noisy.
Highly recommend Hotel Mono”
I highly tecommend Hotel Mono. The location was perfect, with the Chinatown MRT station just beside the street. The room was spacious and comes at an affordable price. The staff were friendly. I requested to be moved to another Room because there were too loud noises right by my window because of the ongoing construction, and was transferred right away. The water pressure was good, hot water was stable. The only thing that can be improved on is the hardness of the sofa bed. It was too hard so sleeping on it was very uncomfortable.
Clean and Pleasant”
I stayed for 2 nights here. All staffs are very professional and friendly. When I checked in, the lady staff took me to the room and personally show how everything works. I got help to order taxi and a staff brought my heavy suitcase to the taxi. The room I was staying at was 212 (standard double) and at the end of the hallway, so I didn't hear much noise from outside. It was impeccably clean and the pillows were comfortable. Aircon couldnt be turned off, but I could change the temperature and fan speed. The hotel lacks for common area where hotel guests can hangout, but it's not a big problem for me. There are a lot of nearby restaurants with decent price and great food. Conclusion, I'm fully satisfied with the staffs, the room, and the location. I had good time while staying in Hotel Mono. Highly recommended.
Smart and convenient”
Hotel Mono is very modern in décor and cleverly designed to provide all needs in a small but adequate space. Its very comfortable and clean, bathroom is bright and spacious and the location is excellent, only a short walk from Chinatown MRT, Chinatown shopping and lots of restaurants. Very attractive rates and the staff were most helpful. Luggage storage was offered so it was an ideal hotel for a short stopover. Highly recommended
Simplicity at its best”
Hotel Mono is a simple boutique hotel located strategically at Singapore's Chinatown. It's monochrome minimalist design made this property stands out from the others. The location is superb. Close by to Chinatown MRT station, where you can travel from/to Changi airport, close to several bus stops, within walking distance to Marina Bay Sands/Gardens by the Bay, loads of dining options in the vicinity of the property. This is my second stay at this property and I would definitely come back again.
Perfect Location, room nice and big enough for family and 2 older Children. ”
I chose Mono Hotel because of good review in TA. I booked Family room with 2 Queen Beds as we're travelling with my teen boys. Everything was good. Perfect location too. Strong Wifi. Facilities was standard but all functional. Easy too find food.. I would recommend this hotel if you want to stay in Chinatown Area. Please ask room with window.
Minimal Hotel, Great Location and Friendly Staff”
Hotel Mono is a unique hotel in Chinatown. It is easy to go around Singapore by MRT or buses. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is suitable for who need to take a photo. It was so amazing! Although the bathroom was so small and decorated with the mosaic that is a bit dirty when time goes by. Overall it is a good choice for travellers who need to stay in the good hotel, good location and helpful staff.
Excellent hotel in great location ”
Singapore is an expensive city (for SE Asian standards). This hotel is good value for the money. It's on a fantastic location. Clean, comfortable and very close to the MRT. We stayed at the South Bridge hotel last time, but I prefer Hotel Mono. The reason is it is more quiet, closer to MRT and there's a fridge in the room.
My go to value hotel in SG”
EVerytime I go to SG. I stay in this hotel. Good price vs. expensive prices of branded hotels, but you don't feel cheap as it is boutique style. Old colonial building turned into a modern design. Got award, I think. In the center of Chinatown, few minutes walk by subway. Good place just to sleep. Clean, modern, safe. No restaurant or gym facilities or any facility at all.
Small Chic Hotel in Great Location”
A very modern hotel in the heart of Singapore - Chic - Clean and very good location Room is clean and nice - slightly small @ 15 sq metre but hardly in the room so not much to complain food is everywhere as it is in chinatown although you need to walk around 5-7 mins to find Hawker centre in the morning because most restaurants near hotel only open arond 11 am around 5 mins walk to MRT There is a Tin-Tin Shop to check out near hotel (i thought it was quite interesting)
Comfortable stay at Hotel Mono”
This is the 2nd time I booked a Studio King room at Hotel Mono. I live how the room and the bathroom are spacious. I requested though for an additional comforter because the sofa bed is very hard. Housekeeping can have a little bit improvement because they only lay out the duvet on the beds and replace towels. They don't really fix up the room. The cushions left on the floor would still be on the floor. The slippers were scattered. The bath amenities were not refilled. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and will still consider staying there on my next Singapore trip.
Really nice concept boutique hotel”
My girlfriend and I always do staycations in Singapore, so we decided to try out this new boutique hotel. We were very very pleased with everything about this hotel. Room was very well designed and staff were super friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this to everyone! Thanks Hotel Mono!
Immaculate room, central location, excellent front desk staff”
The hotel sits next to the main street in Chinatown, within a 100 metres radius of this hotel are 3 hawker centres, underground MRT station, large shopping mall. Rooms are small but have high quality fittings including the bathroom, everything looks new and immaculate for cleanliness. Natural light comes through small windows. Bed was very comfortable wit memory foam and the aircon was quiet and powerful, wifi was solid and easily handled Youtube HD streaming. Room was quiet with no street noise on level 3, but I did hear people talking in the corridor or closing doors from time to time. The deal through Agoda was better than booking directly with the hotel and I enjoyed my stay here more than in a nearby 5-star hotel a few days earlier.
Cute boutique hotel in fantastic location”
Cute boutique hotel in fantastic location, close to Chinatown and all the food choices. Rooms are simple but have everything, good for solo travelers as it’s not the most spacious. Staff were super friendly and helpful, window sill was leaking the first night due to heavy rain, however staff attended to it at first instance, the lady at the reception even helped me take photos on the day of checkout! Love Singapore, will come back again!
Great location and good value”
Perfectly located in the centre of Chinatown, close to two MRT stops, food street and plenty of other shops and amenities. The small double room was adequate enough for the two of us for one night. A really great shower was very welcome also. Very cool theme throughout the hotel. The staff were very friendly and chatty. Gladly accommodated keeping our bags for us for the day whilst we explored Singapore.
New room, clean and very close to Chinatown MRT”
The hotel has a great decorated with black and white tone. We stayed in 22 Sqm. room and it was great. All staff are nice and friendly. Perfect location just 2 minutes walk to MRT Chinatown. On the first day of stay, the door lock in bath room is broken and one of us can not get out of the bathroom. Luckily we have 3 people and we called staff to fix it. This is quite serious if we stay alone. We still recommended this hotel and will stay here again once we go back to Singapore.
