    Classic Elegance ”

The Monteleone is a beautiful grand old hotel in the midst of the French Quarter. I understand that it's still owned and operated by the same family since its beginnings. It is immaculately kept and quite comfortable, in my opinion. Service was very good, and our river view room was beautifully appointed. I will say though by modern standards storage was a bit limited in our base priced double room. Nevertheless I couldn't be happier with my recent stay. Besides for those that stay there, the hotel itself is a tourist destination. Its Carousel Bar, famous for being one of Gov. Huey P. Long's favorite haunts, attracts visitors and natives alike to come on in for a drink and is quite busy. Although we didn't dine there a good friend and French Quarter resident for nearly fifty years gave high praises to the hotel's restaurant. I feel that I got a wonderful deal booking through Agoda, and the next time in New Orleans I would gladly stay at the Monteleone again.

LOVE THIS HOTEL IN THE HEART OF THE FRENCH QUARTER”

I really love Monteleone, it's beautiful, in the heart of it all. The staff is wonderful, I wish I could take them home. They have a variety of employees of all ages, and each one of them gives you such a nice impression. You feel at home staying here. If you're tired of being out and about in New Orleans, and you'd like to be close to your room and listen to some good jazz music, this is the place. If you'd like to go for a splash in the morning in a beautiful elegiant pool, this is the place. I highly recommend staying here. Our favorite is breakfast. There are many places you can dine at in New Orleans, but breakfast is so good here, we wouldn't waste our time waiting in lines to eat somewhere else. I can't wait to return. On top of the luxury amenities the hotel carries, we love our room, beds are comfortable, robes are provided, coffee, tea, good quality pieces in the room. The decor in the room is so nice, tall ceilings, we've stayed in different size rooms. All rooms are nice!

The best in the quarter I have stayed”

The location, the service, the food, and the comfort are all excellent at the Hotel Monteleone. I would be hard pressed to find a better luxury hotel in New Orleans. My only concern is the bar is always full, impending fast service for a night cap. However, this is easily mitigated with the proximity of many other establishments, such as Mr. B's, just across the street.

    a pleasure to stay”

I recently spent a long weekend at Hotel Monteleone and I came home feeling loved and well taken care of. Everyone from the hotel bellmen, the concierge Randy, Dianna the gift shop attendant and the front desk staff were so kind, friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby is impressive, gold with beautiful chandeliers. The check in and check out process was easy. We never met our housekeepers because we were out and about, but our rooms were cleaned and kept impeccably. We stayed in a double bed room and it was a great size for an older hotel. The beds were soft and comfy. I would definitely stay there again. No complaints!!

Historic Hotel Monteleone! Beautiful in a somewhat shabby French Quarter way. Our room was small and expensive. Bathroom even tighter. Bed uncomfortable. Coffee machine in room didn't work. Restaurant was very good. Bar was too crowded to attempt. We crossed this one off our bucket list.

I love the Monteleone! I love historic hotels! Our room was in the Iberville tower. The older part of the hotel. Our room was small and the bathroom was way too small. I like the makeup area separate from the toilet area. Next trip, I will ask for Bienville or Royal tower. We have stayed in Bienville tower and the bathroom was larger .

    Disappointment ”

CONS: sheets worn (hole); nightstand lamp was broken (switch didnt work); there was a robe, but no slippers--they sell the one-size fits-all slippers that you usually find in the luxury hotel rooms in the gift shop...for $10! Those things wholesale for about $2 each. That little amenity would have made a big difference for me. Putting my socks on after my shower and to go to the bathroom at night was not something I usually need to do at luxury hotels. No minibar (yes, I actually enjoy the minibars in the room), just a refrigerator with two bottles of water (complimentary on the first day.) There is a Walgreen's on the corner, which is good since you may want to get your own toilet tissue & kleenex, since hotel's is pretty low quality. If you are petites you will need to ask the bellman to get towels & shower products down for you because they are way to high for a shorter person to reach (safely). Cruse toilet. Rude housekeeping on phone. More comments but out of space.

Beuatiful building but poorly run. Slow internet unless you pay for an upgrade. Broken coffee machine in room. TV with no reception. Room not cleaned until late afternoon and one day not until 8pm after reporting it 3 times. Good luck if you want to try the Carousel bar, we couldn’t get in at any point during 4 day stay. Rooms very noisy, we were woken by other guests every night. Location is excellent for the French quarter. Rooms are beautifully furnished and very clean. Overall disappointing and not worth the high price.

    Roach hotel”

I booked the traditional king room and I was very displeased with the unsanitary condition of my room. There were a total of three roaches in my room. How can you allow the most luxurious hotel in New Orleans to have roaches, this is unheard of. It is absolutely disgusting that they don’t have housekeeping do a better job making sure the rooms are cleaned. During the pandemic the hotel should make cleanliness top priority.
