Very nice hotel in the Ginza district, even though the location is a bit far from stations”
The Hotel Monterey Ginza is quite an unique hotel in the Ginza district. First of all, the hotel's main structure has that classical look, but the amenities in the guest room are quite modern. Each room comes with a pre-configured Android smartphone that has unlimited 4G data and voice over IP. You can even use it for international calling. All facilities, including the guest rooms are clean. The staffs were very helpful to me. I was there almost 3 hours earlier than their official check-in time, but they let me check in and go into my room anyway. If I have to complain, it is the location. While it is not very far from the nearest stations, it took about 10 to 15 minutes to walk to them. Well, technically there's a Ginza-itchōme Station just across the street, but it's on the Yurakucho Line, which isn't very useful for tourists or visitors, unless your only plan is to go to Ikebukuro. Don't get me wrong, though, at the price you are paying for this hotel, you won't regret walking.

Very solid hotel in shopping district”
We were very happy with the choice of Hotel Monterey Ginza. It's got the feel of being a match for the posh shops that line the streets just a couple blocks away, but without being cost-prohibitive. It's a sub-5 minute walk to multiple subway stations, the most useful being the Ginza station. We were warned that Japanese hotel rooms are very small, but for the two of us with two large suitcases it was certainly manageable if not spacious. There was always someone who spoke English at the front desk and they were very helpful with giving directions, maps, power adaptors, etc. The bed and comforter were surprisingly comfortable, and you can turn all of the room lights out from bed (nice if you like to read before going to sleep but forget to turn off some other lights). The only downside we could see is that there's not much to do within walking distance BESIDES shopping, though it was amazingly easy to navigate the Tokyo subway and make it to Shibuya, Ueno, Shinjuku, and more in about a half hour. Recommended.

Great location, great price”
The value ratio of the Hotel Monterey Ginza is only the beginning of the pros for this hotel. The hotel itself is what one would expect from an slightly older building in one of the most prestigious areas of Tokyo. It's well appointed, but don't expect palatial rooms. The staff were are very friendly, the breakfast buffet was nice mix of both western and Japanese options, and you simply cannot beat the location! With Tokyo station a quick 15 minute walk away, and Ginza itchome metro stop practically across the street (exit 10), it's easy to get around the city. Would certainly stay here again.

love monterey ginza”
i love hotel monterey ginza. i love the location. ginza is so different fro the other areas of tokyo. you will always face safe walking around ginza without the crowd pushing you around. we go the twin bedroom and the room siza was ok. the aircon was not cool even for me but not hot too . i guess its because its winter there and so they control the airconditioning.the location is so good. lots of restaurant near the hotel. in fact have 3 convenient store which open very late at night. the restaurant beside the family mart is so reasonable and good. i love ginza and hotel monterey

My Stay in November”
The Monterey Ginza Hotel is a Japanese style hotel well located in Tokyo Ginza. Rooms are small but well arranged. Restaurant and Service are good and breakfast very nice. The hotel employees are very polite and experienced. A place for business meeting and a bar should be arranged. I choose this hotel as a good ratio of price over service.

Perfect for my stay”
I had the pleasure of staying in both Monterey Ginza hotels within the same week. This one would be my first choice next time. Rooms are simply bigger. While the staff is similarly friendly, facilities comparable, and prices on the same level, this Monterey tops the other. Still, both are in the middle of the action snd perfectly located in Ginza. Provided prices are comparable, I would choose this hotel again. Without any doubt.

A Tokyo Treasure”
We arrived late at the Tokyo Central Station and were only a 5 minute taxi ride to the Hotel. The staff spoke impeccable English and were very welcoming and accommodating. The Hotel is only a 5 minute stroll over to the main Ginza strip where the brand name stores are everywhere and the strip has as much if not more to offer than 5th Avenue New York. We will definitely stay again at the Monterey Ginza when back in Tokyo.

Charming Classical style hotel in the prime area”
We stay here on the 1st night of our Japan trip, it is near a Tokyo Station by Taxi ( We don't want to mess up with taking suitcases on the subway) as it took only few minute from Tokyo Station ( we took N'EX train from Narita). The first impression was the location, it is situated in the lovely area of Ginza. Next the hotel is a historic Artdeco style building, I don't know whether it is authentic or not but it looks like one, even the elevator floor indicator is display with scale instead of using digital display. On the contrary, even the facade look old but the room itself is loaded with modern amenities and very comfortable in both sizing and quality. Public Transportation is also very convenient, only a few steps you will get to Ginza-itchome station on the Yurakucho line, and only a few minutes walk you can get to the main Ginza crossing where you can take Hibiya, Ginza or Marunouchi lines to almost anywhere in Tokyo. This is the hotel you will fall in love.

Great Location”
We stayed at Monterey Ginza Hotel for the last four nights of our honeymoon trip in Japan. Great value booking through agoda.com. Reception staff all spoke adequate English for us to get by. The hotel has style. It is very clean and the rooms, while being compact, were by no means the smallest we had in Japan. I was impressed with the location, so close to the subway stations. Quiet in the rooms no traffic noises at all, clean and tidy, friendly staff and just the best. A fabulous place to stay, close to lots of great places to eat at all reasonable price. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Friendly hotel & strategic location”
Hotel check-in time is 3pm. Upon arrival I had a massive migraine headache, after spoken to the receptionist at the hotel we were allowed to check in early to one of the rooms we booked. This helped me to recover quickly & able to explore Ginza that evening. Thanks to the hotel! As well as friendly staff this Hotel is perfect for my family with 2 teens. Comparing to other cities in Tokyo, Ginza is far more the best city for my family. The hotel is just several minutes away from the Ginza crossing and a number of subway stations within walking distance (around 10mins walk). Many nice eateries around! The hotel room is very spacious & comfortable. They provide complimentary mineral waters, also there is a free hand phone which we can use. We booked two rooms so we had two hand phones to use between us (parents) and the teenager children. Will stay here again in the near future.

Thank you very much for staying with us. I hope you to use our hotel again. See you next time!
Best of all was Escale Restaurant. And hotel guests get a discount!”
Very helpful staff quickly solved a problem with our booking and were always friendly and helpful throughout our 6 night stay. Our rwin room was a reasonable size and large by Tokyo standards and larger than a double room.. Monterey Hotel is close to the Ginza department stores and the Metro. The breakfast buffet had a large range, including an egg and omelettte station. Even better was Escale Restaurant for dinner. Superb! We ate there twice. One of the Escale staff wrote us a Bon Voyage note and folded it and gave it to us as origami.

Excellent”
THE location is excellent to walk around Ginza and travel to other places with the subway, train & MRT. The staff was very helpful to provide us information for our travel to other places and other requests as a tourist. I will return to stay at this HOTEL Monterey Ginza as it is not a noisy hotel with other rowdy tourists. I will prefer to stay in Room 1327 because of the size of the room but not ROOM831 which is too small for my baggages. Hope that we I rebook they will give me the size of room 1327. Thank you.

Superb location”
We were couple on holiday and spending whole week in the hotel. We love the room design, as well as the interior of the hotel. Previously, we also stayed in Hotel Monterey Osaka, and we see the resemblance romantic design in all hotels. What is the most important is the location. It is really close to Ginza main street, Ginza station and Ginza itchome station is only a step away. Also for the value of money, we think it is also well worth.

Fantastic Tokyo Experience”
Great little hotel in the Ginza - plenty to chose from by way of shopping and restaurants. 10 minute walk to Tokyo station. Rooms are bigger than some but smaller than others. Wonderfully clean and staff were extremely helpful. Stayed later at a branded 4 star hotel but would have preferred to stay at the Monterey

We have been moved to Monterey LaSeur Ginza”
We booked the Monterey Ginza for 3 nights after having spent already 4 nights there, but we didn't specify that we wanted a non-smoking room and checked in late, so they only had smoking rooms left. Not happy with it, the staff was extremely friendly and tried everything to arrange a non smoking room, ending up moving us up the road to the Monterey LaSeur Ginza. The rooms at the LaSeur are smaller than the ones at the Monterey, the bed seemed a bit smaller as well. All in all the room was clean, wired Interente in the room, but no information about renting a Laptop or printer. There is no computer in the lobby either, you need to walk to the Monterey for that. Location is practically the same, the hotels are about 100m apart. Staff is the same as well (very friendly), they seemed to work a bit in one place and a bit in the other. The day we left, they stored the baggage for the day for free. The LaSeur is a good place, but we preferred the Monterey.

Great location”
We stayed 5 days in Monterey Hotel Ginza, and we had a fantastic wedding anniversary celebration. The hotel is superb with a great local and international buffet breakfast. The location is fantastic with lots of great restaurants and pubs right next to the hotel. The hotel staff are very polite and helpful. The only downside is our room is so hot as all the instructions on the ac is in Japanese. But overall stay is fabulous and we will definitely come back and will stay in this hotel again

Summer 08 Stay at Monterey Ginza Hotel”
The overall feeling that the Monterey Ginza Hotel gave was similar to boutique hotels in Europe. The hotel finishings were lovely, starkly different from the rest of the Tokyo Hotels. Though the rooms were small est 20sqm by international standards, they were relatively spacious and comfortable compared to the Japanese standards. It's ideal for couples to stay in but rather pricey as a business hotel. There are nice cafes like Doutor, Veloce round the corners, so you can opt for room only.

Comfortable hotel in easy walking distance of Tokyo Station”
We were very happy with the Monterey. Room and bathroom were clean and a good size. Twin beds were extra wide (though a little firm). Staff were helpful. The hotel is very nice and the position is very convenient with Ginza shops nearby and Tokyo railway station an easy 10 minute walk.
