lovely old fashion style which we appericated a lot”
We lost our baby dyper bag in the bullet train from Tokyo to Nagoya. The front desk help us to arrange the lost and found with JR train company. Finally after less than 24h we picked up at the lost and found office Shin Osaka station!
location is next to Nagoya castle but far to downtown.
Officious, ostentatious, outdated with a good view”
This hotel had a lovely lobby with rooms that were spacious and nicely appointed with stunning castle views but the whole operation was outmoded. It felt like a step back into the glory days of Japanese prominence but not in an affectionate, nostalgic way. We felt nickeled and dimed for everything outside of the room itself. There is nothing but the Castle nearby. Bikes were uncomfortable and old, swimming pool across the road and at an extra charge. The included breakfast was far less than one might expect for the price of the rooms.
Clean, quiet and spacious... with a nice view”
We really enjoyed our stay here. Rooms facing Nagoya-jo have a marvelous view of the castle and surrounding wall and moat. Rooms on the other side look out on to the downtown skyline and the distant mountains. The rooms were quite spacious (especially by Japanese standards), clean, bright and comfy. Even the complimentary coffee was good. The location has its pros and cons, but mostly pros for us. The castle is quite stunning, and a good place to spend an hour or so and there was a good restaurant or two along its northwest perimeter (beyond the moat of course). But other than that, we did not find much else in the area. Not a big a deal though. Free shuttle buses between Nagoya station (to and from every hour), and several subway stations in easy walking distance make seeing the city easy. Getting to Inuyama was a snap from the hotel by subway/train and was a great half-day side trip. Staff was very kind and helpful. Thank you for a very pleasant stay. Will return someday.
Amazing view and great facilities”
Truly a luxurious hotel, food options may be a bit of a walk but not too far away. The only down side is you need to pay for the use of their facilities, but the pool and gym were quite good.
Good service and staffs were nice. Location is a bit far from station, 10 mins. Room had nice view with view of Nagoya castle. The swimming pool and gym area of hotel is outside the hotel. So you need go out the hotel through it's side door then across the road. All over, it is a great hotel to stay in Nagoya.
Good service and spacious room”
The location of the hotel is not that convenient as you need to walk around 10 mins to the train station. Bus stop is just opposite to the hotel. But you need to check the timetable for the bus, as it is not that frequent. Car parking is free of charge. Service is good and room is spacious.
Big room ”
Got a great room facing the Nagoya Castle
Just a normal hotel”
I think it's more of a business hotel as I do not see families checking in besides us. The hotel provide shuttle service every 1 hour if u miss it travelling would be inconvenient
club lounge floor is very comfortable ”
need to take free shuttle bus to hotel
Nice view of the city”
Pro ,near by subway and just near the Nagoya Castle Con, some distance to the downtown
Very disappointed, not suggest to everyone want to enjoy the facilities provided by the hotel”
When I bought my children to the swimming pool, they were forbidden to go to the pool, because it was Monday, children can enter to the swimming pool ON SUNDAY ONLY!!!!!! that was ridiculous, I was told only member can take their children to the pool on other day than Sunday, I had visited the web site before I made the booking, this information is not provided in the web site, I asked the hotel staff why this important information is not provided in the web site, they said the information is provided in the Japanese version only. I was so angry, my children were so disappointed, I will never book this hotel anymore, and I suggest EVERYONE NOT TO BOOK THIS HOTEL ANYMORE, it was a bad experience in this trip.
Nice view and good location”
if you going to book this hotel, only one thing you have ensure, the castle view room.
The Amenity is not so good and not mentioned enough by the staff”
The pool and spa are extra costs
I stayed here because of the location to the sumo tournament. Just a 15 minute walk. Staff”
The staff is wonderful and ready to assist with any request. I would return.
Feeling disappointed to this Westin”
Expected high before stayed, disappointed after stayed. Poor wifi, unstable, reason given because of too many guests to stay in, I might accept if staying at resort or onsen hotel, but definitely not for a hotel located in a business area. Also the recreation facilities are not convenient to in-house guests.
Hugely i overpriced for room quality- old facilities”
No hot water tap in toilet room- chips on inside door , flaking paint- only one sink in main bathroom- clean tidy beautiful view- but outdated old fashion furniture. Definitely not a luxury hotel
They are very helpful and also help us to solve our problems due to some booking issue.
The best thing to stay at The Westin Nagoya Castle is the location. You can see the Naglya Castle from your room.
