Lovely hotel ”
A small hotel with a nice restaurant and an onsen. The foods were delicious. There’re all necessary stuffs in the room, even a coffee machine. There’s very convenient car park in front of the hotel. Shortly, all was great!

Not a good value”
To be as succinct as possible, this hotel was right next to a bus stop and had its own public bath (Old and tiny). When booked through Agoda due to the language barrier, messages are sent for the ease of translation. Unfortunately my questions and requests were never tended to. I was not given the room advertised but was given a tiny room that looked like it was under the stairs. The pillows were woefully uncomfortable and had fillers that felt like plastic bottle caps (my neck still hurts). The linen on the bed irritated my skin and caused itchy discomfort throughout my stay. Although the hotel stay was part of the “Go To” travel campaign, the coupons I received were not accepted at the hotel restaurant and advance booking at the restaurant meant you couldn’t just pop in for food. With no other eateries nearby, one has to walk in the cold to find a convenience store or elect to take the bus to buy food in the nearby town. Although the rooms were kept clean and the location to a bus stop was convenient in that regard, for the money I paid I felt this hotel was sorely lacking in value and quality. I cannot endorse this hotel.

Nice Nikko hotel”
Sum up: highly recommended! high C/P hotel What else can you ask for such great quality with that price? Staffs are friendly, facilities are a little bit old but clean. Rooms are warm. Cute little decorations are everywhere showing the love and caring from this hotel. Breakfasts are also included in the price so you don't have to go outside on cold winter morning but staying inside and enjoying beautiful winter sunshine. The most important, you can have the outside onsen pool while snowing. (It's 24 hr opened). Various kinds of shampoo and conditioners are provided so that you can choose your favorite flavors. Nice Natural Garden Nikko shines my winter trip to Nikko. But only one thing you need to care about: its location is quite far. You need to take a bus around 15 min to get there. It takes around 10 min to walk to the nearest supermarket.

great wifi, free onsen, 2 minutes from bus stop”
I suggest u get tobu nikko pass for 3 or 4 days because it including the free bus pass. The hotel is located at tobu nikko bus stop no. 13. Theres a restaurant at the hotel. But to get to kombini (convenience store) u should stopping by at bus stop 9 (Lawson). Thats the nearest n cheapest food to get. Be careful of the bus schedule. Above 6 PM, theres no bus from Lawson to the hotel. Wifi speed is amazing. The receptionist and the staffs have quite good english n very helpful. Theres free inside n outside onsen for each gender. U only get ur towel, theres free amenities inside. Room is quite spacy for japanese standard hotel room. The bad is.. theres only 2 power outlet which is quite far from ur bed, so it will be a little bit annoying for a mobile phone addicted like us.

We had a wonderful time!”
If you are looking for a large, fancy, state of the art, international hotel, this place isn't for you! BUT, if you want a place that is friendly, comfortable, and has good food you're in the right place. My wife and I loved it!. The value is outstanding, and I would go back there tomorrow. It is an older hotel that lookit might be a large wooden mansion of a time gone by. It is about two miles from the train station, but the bus is right at the station and there is a stop right in front of the hotel. We had a room with two twin beds and it was much larger than we expected and spotlessly clean. Nobody spoke English, but they were so friendly and tried so hard to please us that this only added to the fun. We arrived after dark in a pouring rain and one of the managers was standing at the door as if he was afraid we weren't going to make it. It was really quite touching. Other than the hotels there is only one restaurant in Nikko that stays open past 6:00 PM, so you either must make reservations to eat there or you will end up like we did having a 7-11 picnic in our room. I reccommend taking their breakfast! It isn't that expensive and it is a full breakfast in a charming dining room. It turns out that the temple complex is closeby and, if you don't mind an uphill walk in the mountains you could make it. We opted to ride the bus to the station and transfer to the bus that services the complex because we were tired from the previous night. It was a good decision because there are hundreds of steps leading up to the five temple complexes. Very strenuous sightseeing, but well worth the effort! After a good soak in the hotel's scroupulously maintained bathhouse, and wearing the complimentary supplied robes and slippers, it was off to sleep in a very comfortable and roomy bed. Honestly, this place is a jewel of a find!

Free & Nice Onsen, Comfort Room, Nice Staff, Great Breakfast”
Excellent service from the staff, unfortunately they're not fluent in english. There are free coffee/tea all day on lobby. The onsen was very clean and comfort. They provide guest with a pajamas. Easy access from Bus Stop (Nikko Botanical Garden) / No. 13 from JR Nikko Station, just across the street from the bus stop.

Love onsen ”
Front desk could not speak english much, but they try to help. Room is clean, big (deluxe twin), although old fashion. Onsen is the most reason we should this hotel when you have a lot free time since everything in Nikko close too early like 5PM. But we don't recommend dinner (French full course) because it's so so, not worth for its high price of 4300 yen per person.

nice little hotel”
This hotel is nice and small with sufficient facilities (onsen), free coffee or tea in the morning for all guest at the lobby area. It is convenient for me as I have planned 2days to go up to Yumoto onsen and Chuzenji Lake. The journey up from this hotel makes it kind of shorter as you can avoid starting from the Nikko bus station (the traffic from there is usually pretty busy). The hotel room is clean and very spacious. Enjoyed the stay there and love Nikko.

nice public bath”
my favourite part of the hotel is the public bath. It could because its the time of the year where not alot of people travel to Nikko, so there weren't alot of people staying there and i get to have the public bath to myself. It has an outdoor bath, was great to dip in the hot bath with the cold air as it was raining the 2 nights i was there. Room is quite decent for the price. Its a distance away from the town centre but there's a bus stop right outside the hotel so its convenient to take a bus to &fro the centre or if you want to take a bus for a day trip out to the Chuzenji lake.

Comfortable, clean, awesome service, accessible”
I will definitely come back to this place if I visit Nikko again. Hotel was really nice, service was courteous. Amazing breakfast to start your day. Right next to bus stop 11. If you time your bus rudes well, this place is surely a great place to stay while in Nikko.

Location just ok”
Older hotel that has good sized rooms but the pillows are atrocious (flat & hard) and bed quite firm. The staff are friendly and helpful. There’s a restaurant on site where we had a very nice breakfast (included with our booking). We didn’t have dinner in the restaurant as you have to pre-book which we couldn’t seem to do as we were told it was either fully booked or closed (very confusing as on both occasions the restaurant was open and clearly not fully booked). The location is ok for Nikko as there is not a huge choice, but is definitely not walking distance into town, although you can catch the local Tobu bus from the stop nearby for approximately 250,- 300 yen. There’s a local supermarket about 10 minutes walk up the hill and a great Ramen/Gyoza restaurant across the road (don’t be put off by the look of this restaurant, it’s run by an old couple who have been there for 45 years and make some of the best Ramen we’ve ever had!). There’s also a lovely cafe next door that serves coffee and cake.

Western breakfast in a traditional Japanese hotel”
Not to close to the Nikko train station but with good public transport (buses) to the city centre and places of interest. Staff can speak some English. Dinner at the hotel has to be booked in advance otherwise most restaurants in the city close at around 18:00. We felt we were isolated at breakfast time from the rest of (Japanese) clients.

It was okay. ”
Our trip to Nikko was last minute, so our options on places to stay were limited. This hotel was probably our best option for what we had to choose from. As other mentioned, the food was amazing. We only had breakfast at the hotel, but I'm sure dinner was delicious as well. If you're planning on having dinner at the hotel, you might want to indicate that when booking. We tried to make a reservation for dinner one evening and were told that it was impossible to get us in. The hotel itself was okay. I think it could benefit from some remodeling - particularly the bathrooms, which are large, but are dated and have an awful corner shower. I did notice some staining on the carpet in the room, and the AC was sometimes loud. I would probably stay somewhere a bit nicer if I was to do it again. Nikko is like a ghost town after about 6 p.m., so you end up spending the evening at your hotel.

Quaint hotel in Nikko”
love both the indoor and outdoor public bathhouses. They even equipped us with a sheet of bathing instructions in English. Nikko was a beautiful place and I had a relaxing time at the hotel.

Great location and nice public bath.”
I dropped my transportation pass ticket on the bus at the first day in Nikko. Although waitress cannot speak English fluently, she still tried to help me contact the bus company and I successfully took my pass ticket back. Really appreciate that. The location is perfect as it’s right around the bus stop. The public bath is also highly recommended.

Cosy place. Good location”
The hotel gives you a cosy feel - more like home. Facilities are up to standard (thou Onsen is a little too small). Breakfast is OK. Location is good as it’s in the middle between Nikko town and way to Kegon falls. Very close drive to tourist attractions.
