Nice hot spring resort!”
Location is quite remote, 10 mins walking distance from Otaru aquarium but not advisable to walk in snowy weather. They have shuttle bus to transfer to Otaru train station every 30 mins but you have to make reservation earlier as it only seat 10 pax. Room is big and there’s a indoor hot spring bath which faces the ocean, really nice view! Hotel property is not big so there nothing much to do here except the hot spring. Booking come with Japanese and western breakfast and French cuisine dinner. Staff at the restaurant are very friendly!
An okay stay.”
Private bath water was too hot for me but then I had low pain threshold. The toilet was leaking water from the bidet - but we figured it was too much hassle to change room since we had already settled down and unpacked our stuffs. The view of the hotel vicinity was fantastic - this is the highlight of our stay. Overall it was a good experience.
Hotel with great ocean view”
Thou hotel is situated out of d way but is really worth d stay as d ocean view is fantastic! Private onsen with ocean view is a great experience too & not forgetting d nice french dinner. Highly recommended for couples thou :)
The view from the hotel is spectacularly out of this world. However, the hotel is quite old. Staff is adequately courteous. Probably would be nicer for couples than it is for family with young infants.
Unhelpful and unfriendly staff”
Two times for needing help from desk, front desk staff couldn’t help and didn’t even understand what we need in ENGLISH. Staff we meet for check-in and check-our were upset us with unfriendly face and manner. Good luck Otaru has the best natural view to help them enhancing their score, otherwise I would say the hotel is not worth to stay.
This is very nice to have a hot spring in your own room and see the sunset
Couldn’t have asked for more! ”
Stayed for one night at the end of a busy trip. My boyfriend and I wanted to take the last night to just relax, have dinner at the hotel and enjoy the private open air bath in our room. It was better than expected and the staff was absolutely amazing.
Everything except the location was great. Staffs are not really good at English, but their attitude was great. the view was also great except i could directly see the parking lots. If you are looking for a place to relax, its a great place. But if you want to go sight-seeing, i strongly recommend you to reconsider.
Seaview room , hotel at the top of the mountain”
Very nice sea view, we booked Double B (Non-Smoking) room which is a queen size bed. And can see the seaview and sunrise from the room. Room has its own onsen (which easily fit a couple in). Yummy breakfast with Japanese or western style to select. It took around 10 to 15mins drive from hotel to city center, as the hotel located top of the mountain, not much nearby, most of the attraction nearby was closed during our stay period (maybe off season). I believe hotel has shuttle bus/van but I'm unsure as we drive ourself. Free car parking. 5mins drive can go to a large home depot (supermarket + houseware). Highly recommended!
Very good hotel and location”
The hotel location is only 15 mins drive from Otaru Canal. Our room is quite spacious with private onsen facing the ocean. The hotel is located on top of hill with spectacular ocean view. Perfect for sunset. The dinner at restaurant is very nice and the staff is friendly and speaks good english. Overall it is a very good accomodation to spend a night in Otaru.
A bit out of the way, but well worth the drive. View from the room was incredible. Coupled with a private onsen made for a truly relaxing experience. Not a place to stay on a budget. But for a few nights you will be relaxed and refreshed.
Fabulous hotel ....but”
Whilst you can't fail to be impressed with onsen and views from room. Hotel is not in centre of town as agoda advertises. There is a Shuttle bus but you have to book and return times are rigid. We always came back by taxi costing two thousand yen. The dinner menu is French . However , still think the views and onsen made it worth it. The staff are very helpful despite not speaking a lot of English . So they try very hard to make you happy and feel welcome . Guess , it comes down to personal choice. I would stay again and thank you very much for looking after us.
Poor internet connection, friendly but not able to speak English staffs, impressive views”
I spent only a night at the hotel, and it was a good experience for me for taking a private bath for the first time. It was just fit for winter. The views from my room was stunning and impressive. However it is located far away from the station and other tourist attractions, which makes it inconvenience to go or even get something to eat except the hotel's restaurant that is expensive and the foods were not very good as expected. I can say it fits for only one night just to find out how is it like, not for a long stay. The room is big and clean, anyway the internet connection in the hotel is poor. So I have got nothing much to do. And because it is hard to go to the hotel, I suggest you to make a reservation for free-shuttle bus from the JR station. Anyway the hotel staffs can not speak English, it was not very easy to ask or order things there. The thing I liked the most about the hotel was the views. It is valuable for the price compared to others.
Bath with a view”
Only downside is the hotel is not in a central location. However we knew this when choosing to stay there. The view was outstanding and the bath-with-a-view was fabulous. Staff were professional and friendly. Breakfast was very good too!
The rooms are not modern with atypical layout”
Disappointed because of the scary room and a pitty that we didn't really have the mood to note the good things of the hotel during our 12 hour short stay, such as the nice look out to the ocean for its cliff location which was meant to be a attraction of the hotel.
Beautiful view from the room”
This hotel is 10 mins away from Otaru downtown on the top of hill near the ocean. Chose the hotel as it provides an in-room spa which includes ocean view. Very impressive experience and walkaround the hotel is another merit. Breakfast has two options; Japanese/Continental, both of them are fine but a little salty like other restaurants in Japan during the trip. Recommendable to couple/honeymoon travelers.
Nice view but the location is not too convenient”
The hotel is not near the center of Otaru. But the hotel can arrange a free shuttle bus for you to transport from Otaru JR station. You should call to book it before you go.Every room have a private hot spring. So you can enjoy a sea view when you having a hot spring in your room. It is quite suitable for the couples and families. And the food in the hotel restaurant is very delicious including breakfast and dinner.
The view is perfect”
i think the hotel is perfect. it has a beautiful view. and the staff are all so nice with good command in english. there are shuttle bus from jr otaru station to hotel. it only take about 15 minutes. the room is clean and tidy. there are parking space. otaru need only spend one day to visit.
Beautiful location cliff side. The shuttle between Otaru is very nice and convenient, the private bath facing the ocean absolutely lovely, and everyone was very nice and helpful.
Excellent View and French cuisine!!!”
will stay there again next time
