Feel the local hospitality”

First time visiting Kukatsu. We selected the hotel due to price and location. The hotel is more of local-run thus, what we kind of expect to experience with city hotel, here they make it up with local hospitality. Depends on how you book, you may have to pay for the towel for public spa which provides you with small towel, big towel and access to nicely-cleaned Yukata from shelves at lobby. Public spa is small, but offer nice outdoor section! Amenities in public spa is more-than-sufficient for female, male does not have much though. Too bad the spa closes in the morning or otherwise we would like to have the morning outdoor freshness. Breakfast is Japanese-style perfect for refreshment at Kukatsu. Staff does not speak English fluently, but quite helpful. Honestly, I overall like how the hotel remains local to give us the feeling of being in Japanese countryside. And appreciate the attempt for hotel to hire international staff to help fill the gap though.

Cheap hotel, but clean”

I guess that this hotel was popular like 20 or 30 years ago. Not is just a cheap hotel in Kusatsu, but at least is clean and location also quite conveniente. I mean, it's 10~15min from Kusatsu center, but the hotel is on the top of a climb so getting back is not very easy like going. Also, I may say that breakfast is not really good, not too manu choices and totally focused on japanese customers only. So, no croissant, no coffee or cappuccino, no yogurt: it's definitely better going to Kusatsu for having a better one. However, I can't say that I didn't enjoy my stay there: it was cheap compared to other locations, room (kapanese style) clean and quite big also for 2 persons. But next time I may choice another location!

Great value and memorable experience”

About 10-15mins walk from main kusatsu onsen bus terminal. We stayed 3 nights here and it was great. The onsen facility is clean and well maintained.. There is a HUGE range of beauty product in the female onsen area that is free for use.. The rooms were very pretty, spacious and of course, clean.. Both breakfast and dinner were provided and we LOVED the buffet spread.. It’s traditional japanese food, nutritious and delicious.. I highly recommend this place!

Would definitely come back”

Had an old and laid back feel (not fancy but relaxing). This hotel is a bit of a walk from yubatake but still close enough. They had a van to shuttle people closer to the main attractions at certain times. Breakfast and dinner were pretty good considering it's included in the price. My room was huge and had a great view of Sainokawara Park. Strongly recommended if you're traveling on a budget, but I'd recommend it even if you're not. It's just a nice, comfortable stay!

Good Onsen budget hotel.”

Good budget hotel. The room is small but can sleep 4 people. The staffs will keep the table out and arrange a set of mattresses and blankets. The location may be a bit far from Yubatake but keep walking and enjoy the atmosphere on the way. The hotel has a buffet dinner and alcoholic beverages, in which food is very varied and delicious. I am very impressed. The breakfast was delicious. Onsen separates the male and female on the ground floor. Divided into indoor ponds and outdoor ponds The onsen area has convenient facilities and amenities. I like the onsen here.

Nice onsen. Delicious dinner and breakfast.”

The room is big and the view from the window is magnificent! The onsen is definitely the point to stay here. They provide all you can drink beer during dinner. However, it's a bit far from the bus terminal amd there's a small hill to walk up to the hotel. In gerneral, if you are looking for a place to enjoy the little onsen destination for few day, a great choice here.

It consists of both outdoor and indoor onsen ,but we found quite a lot insects in the water No hair dryer in the room so you can only dry your hair in the onsen washroom. The buffet breakfast and dinner are so nice as a lot of choice are provided. Though, the hotel is really a bit old, but the price is really so cheap!

Great stay. The hotel is a little run down. However, this is the reason why it is so cheap. So don't expect a fancy Onsen area. The hotel mainly caters to the elderly and families with small children. And best of all, beer is included in the dinner buffet. If you are looking for a reasonable stay this might be your choice.

Half board hotel with its own spa”

The hotel is on the edge of town and can be accessed on foot (10 mn) Most of the tourists were japanese and I found the atmosphere friendly. The hotel is a bit dated but my room was fairly big and there is a an onsen indoor. I booked for 2 days and both evening meals were the same (buffet). For those who stay longer that can get a bit repetitive.
