Great value and memorable experience”
About 10-15mins walk from main kusatsu onsen bus terminal. We stayed 3 nights here and it was great. The onsen facility is clean and well maintained.. There is a HUGE range of beauty product in the female onsen area that is free for use.. The rooms were very pretty, spacious and of course, clean.. Both breakfast and dinner were provided and we LOVED the buffet spread.. It’s traditional japanese food, nutritious and delicious.. I highly recommend this place!
Cheap hotel, but clean”
I guess that this hotel was popular like 20 or 30 years ago. Not is just a cheap hotel in Kusatsu, but at least is clean and location also quite conveniente. I mean, it's 10~15min from Kusatsu center, but the hotel is on the top of a climb so getting back is not very easy like going. Also, I may say that breakfast is not really good, not too manu choices and totally focused on japanese customers only. So, no croissant, no coffee or cappuccino, no yogurt: it's definitely better going to Kusatsu for having a better one. However, I can't say that I didn't enjoy my stay there: it was cheap compared to other locations, room (kapanese style) clean and quite big also for 2 persons. But next time I may choice another location!
Would definitely come back”
Had an old and laid back feel (not fancy but relaxing). This hotel is a bit of a walk from yubatake but still close enough. They had a van to shuttle people closer to the main attractions at certain times. Breakfast and dinner were pretty good considering it's included in the price. My room was huge and had a great view of Sainokawara Park. Strongly recommended if you're traveling on a budget, but I'd recommend it even if you're not. It's just a nice, comfortable stay!
Feel the local hospitality”
First time visiting Kukatsu. We selected the hotel due to price and location. The hotel is more of local-run thus, what we kind of expect to experience with city hotel, here they make it up with local hospitality. Depends on how you book, you may have to pay for the towel for public spa which provides you with small towel, big towel and access to nicely-cleaned Yukata from shelves at lobby. Public spa is small, but offer nice outdoor section! Amenities in public spa is more-than-sufficient for female, male does not have much though. Too bad the spa closes in the morning or otherwise we would like to have the morning outdoor freshness. Breakfast is Japanese-style perfect for refreshment at Kukatsu. Staff does not speak English fluently, but quite helpful. Honestly, I overall like how the hotel remains local to give us the feeling of being in Japanese countryside. And appreciate the attempt for hotel to hire international staff to help fill the gap though.
Good Onsen budget hotel.”
Good budget hotel. The room is small but can sleep 4 people. The staffs will keep the table out and arrange a set of mattresses and blankets. The location may be a bit far from Yubatake but keep walking and enjoy the atmosphere on the way. The hotel has a buffet dinner and alcoholic beverages, in which food is very varied and delicious. I am very impressed. The breakfast was delicious. Onsen separates the male and female on the ground floor. Divided into indoor ponds and outdoor ponds The onsen area has convenient facilities and amenities. I like the onsen here.
Nice onsen. Delicious dinner and breakfast.”
The room is big and the view from the window is magnificent! The onsen is definitely the point to stay here. They provide all you can drink beer during dinner. However, it's a bit far from the bus terminal amd there's a small hill to walk up to the hotel. In gerneral, if you are looking for a place to enjoy the little onsen destination for few day, a great choice here.
You can enjoy the breakfast and dinner at the hotel. There is various and delicious food for you to choose. Regarding the room, it is clean and comfortable for two people. The staffs there are nice and friendly. I am happy with the hotel.
It consists of both outdoor and indoor onsen ,but we found quite a lot insects in the water No hair dryer in the room so you can only dry your hair in the onsen washroom. The buffet breakfast and dinner are so nice as a lot of choice are provided. Though, the hotel is really a bit old, but the price is really so cheap!
Nice room, good dinner and good breakfast, close to the park and onsen and ski mountain and short distance to the middle of town. This is a great deal for Japan.
Nice onsen hotel”
Pros: onsen was so good, nice view from hotel, good dinner and breakfast, room is clean and cozy, staff was nice. Cons: far from bus station, 12 minutes walk up hill, check out too early -9 am, onsen closed from 11pm to 9am.
A very good hotel where you near to the town centre, skiing slope, hotspring garden, good breakfast/dinner with plenty of free sake, wine, beer to go along with . Highly recommended for family travellers.
Good Place , Good Foods and great onsen.”
The hotel is easy to find, there is very good taste of breakfast and dinner. The room is very comfortable and great green tea.
Superb view to Ski Resort if snowing. Breakfast and dinner is a great deal and recommend to include.”
You can call from Bus station asking hotel for a car pick up free of charge. But it’s not included when you check out. The view from the room to Ski Resort is marvelous especially when snow dropped. Close to the park and outdoor onsen in a walking distance. The indoor spa should be renovate now.
Spectacular View from Guestroom”
View from guestroom was stunning. We missed the dinner as we arrived late but the breakfast there was nice. The hotel was full of Japanese families.
Value for money”
Great stay. The hotel is a little run down. However, this is the reason why it is so cheap. So don't expect a fancy Onsen area. The hotel mainly caters to the elderly and families with small children. And best of all, beer is included in the dinner buffet. If you are looking for a reasonable stay this might be your choice.
Half board hotel with its own spa”
The hotel is on the edge of town and can be accessed on foot (10 mn) Most of the tourists were japanese and I found the atmosphere friendly. The hotel is a bit dated but my room was fairly big and there is a an onsen indoor. I booked for 2 days and both evening meals were the same (buffet). For those who stay longer that can get a bit repetitive.
Perfect price, and quite location. ”
Perfect Price and enjoy 2 meal. It's worth to live here. Although it's far away center of towen and need to walk 10 min to achieve. It's still worth to live there
Location wise, it's good.”
Hotel was ok, rooms were clean, onsen was clean althought not much view in the outdoor onsen. The hotel was close to the tourist spots, walking distance only so that was the catch but the food they offer for breakfast and dinner wasn't really appetizing. Nothing special except for the drink-all-u-can wine.
Hotel New Koyo”
This room is spacious with a balcony that overlooks the "Sai-no-Kawara Outdoor Bath Park". From the balcony, you can actually see and talk to your neighbours so it is good for families that are staying in different rooms. The location is near many tourist attractions. The staff are friendly but has limited english speaking capabilities. They would not be able to suggest places for you to go but will hand you maps that are rather useful. The breakfast and dinner provided were in a buffet style and it was a sumptuous spread! The complimentary onsen was also a plus point. There were certain disappointing aspects such as no shampoo, body soap, toothbrush, combs, towels and etc. provided. I asked for a towel at the counter and they provided me with one that was the size of my face. For the real bath towels, you have to pay for them.
Friendly staff,hot spring,reasonable price ”
Everything was very good, especially the hot spring and friendly staff, room price including dinner and breakfast in Japanese style
