Japanese Style Double Room - Non-Smoking
Stayed 7 nights in December 2017
comfortable choice in a traditional neighbourhood”
relatively spacious traditional japanese tatami room with own private bathroom in a peaceful and interesting local neighbourhood very close to Sensoji. staff spoke minimal English and weren't super friendly, but we felt like we had been in 'japan' after staying here and would highly recommend it to other travelers wandering around Tokyo for a week.

Affordable accommodation but not smoke free ”
A good place to stay but even in non-smoking rooms, you can smell smoke. Also, the hotel could be cleaner. As it's a family run business, the rules are not very stringent.

Value for money”
Location is slightly far from the train / subway station but near to the tourist spot of Kaminarimon. Generally the room is very clean and the hotel provide daily room cleaning service to change your towel, floor mat and yukata. Highly recommend with the price you pay for.

Clean and cozy hotel”
The location is not very near to subway station, around 15mins walk. But it is near to Kaminarimon and Sensoji temple (the tourist spot). Overall the room is very clean and the staff will change the bed sheet, yukata, floor mat for your room daily as requested. On thing not good is that for ladies, the shower bath is very small and no hair dryer in the room.

Different kind of experience”
Hotel New Tochigiya is a good place to stay if you are travelling alone or if you are all males (since they only allow males to stay here). It's very close to Sensoji temple, Kaminarimon, and the stations which permits you to travel to the various locations in Tokyo. The idea of a capsule room may sound claustrophobic at first but in the end, I personally felt cozy inside. The public bath they have may not be for everyone, but I suggest that you try it since it will be a new experience for most of you and there is also a sauna located inside it. In my opinion, they could improve on the cleanliness a bit, especially the smell inside the comfort rooms. They allow you to leave your bags prior to check and and after check out until 3pm.

Worst service and Worst location”
It's not possible if you want to leave your luggage here after check out in the morning and pick up at 7PM that same day. No hair dryer in the room, you must borrow it from the front desk. It's location is so far away from the station. You have to through Sanso Temple and then find this hotel in a lot of streets.

Good Location, Cleanliness”
This hotel is easy to find from the map. I just follow my map and found easily. The room is clean and quite satisfactory even the bed is a bit old. From this hotel, I can walk through the various places or get the subway through the Asakusa temple which is close enough. For me, this hotel is satisfy and value for money. One con is staff which cannot understand english when I asked for direction.

I stayed in the Japanese style single with bathroom, I found it absolutely brilliant, all I wanted was a place to sleep and nothing more, this is exactly what I got, value for money. Would recommend this for travelers just looking for a place to sleep.

Family with young children

not suitable for family with young child.”
We checked in on evening of 2/12/16, booked online before we arrived. Check in counter smells of tobacco smell, managed by men, room provided without windows and beds linen dirty. At the same time, don't think it is safe place to stay and since I traveled with a child, I decided not to stay, checked out next hour. Agoda should do a review on this hotel or rather all other hotels and mention if conducive and safe for young children before selling online. We found another hotel nearby, but the rate due to weekend were very costly. We want to know whether Agoda can assist to get a refund for the rooms we did not stay?
