“The staff's service is wonderful.”
This was my first time using the service. The room was spacious enough with elegant decor, and it was convenient to have a place to put my luggage and a bench by the window. Since there was no USB outlet, it would have been even more convenient if there had been one. The spa on the fifth floor also had an atmosphere reminiscent of a Japanese public bath, and I used it multiple times. The executive lounge was a calm space with wonderful food presentation. The afternoon tea was particularly good. In other hotel lounges, afternoon tea can sometimes just be a few random items put together between breakfast and evening cocktails, but that was not the case here. Each item was carefully prepared. Speaking of which, the breakfast food on the second floor was also substantial. Many cooking staff were working in the open, and everyone had excellent customer service, which made me feel good from the morning. There were two points that were disappointing. When I checked in and entered the room, contrary to the information on the website, there was no espresso machine and only instant coffee available. Furthermore, the room was on the 20th floor or lower, so I confirmed whether this room was indeed a "Nikko Club Deluxe," and it turned out that espresso machines have been removed from all guest rooms. Also, the club room floors are usually on the 21st floor and above, but when there are no rooms available on those floors, rooms below the 20th floor are sold as club rooms. I understood that better and was then told, “If you wish, we can prepare a room of the same type on the 21st floor or higher.” That made me wonder why I was assigned a room on the 20th floor or lower when there were club rooms on the 21st floor or higher. The other issue was the selection of wines in the executive lounge. I was happy to see sparkling wine, but for three consecutive days, it was DOLCE (sweet). I thought the lounge would provide something that appeals to everyone, and I have had sparkling wine in various club lounges but have only come across general BRUT (dry) options. It might be interesting if one of several types of sparkling wines were DOLCE, but having only that option be DOLCE... especially for three days in a row. I am very curious about the background behind the selection of this wine. I would definitely like to request a more universally appealing selection in the future. I appreciate the staff who attended to me, as they did everything possible within their capacity. I am very grateful for that, but I thought if a more common wine had been provided, the on-site staff wouldn't have to struggle as much. In conclusion, the greatest charm of this hotel is each and every staff member. The attentive lounge staff and housekeeping personnel were incredibly helpful. Every staff member I met had a smile and was charming; I truly felt that everyone takes pride in working at this hotel. I definitely want to rely on their services again.
