FANTASTIC HOTEL”
Ski in and ski out. Huge pool and hot tub area. Saunas. Massage parlor. You have access to your own ski locker and the mountain offers night skiing. You name it this place has it. Located in Hirafu where all the night life is. It is across street from Welcome Center where the buses drop you off. Great value. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Niseko. If you don’t want to be stuck at your hotel at night and having to resort to taking the bus into town, stay in Hirafu. For example, the travel agent tried to get us to stay at the Hilton. While it is a pretty hotel, there is literally nothing else around it. So at night when you get back you are stuck at the hotel unless you want to do a 20 minute bus ride each way to town. The Hotel Alpen exceeded expectations.

Right at the ski lifts - perfect location for skiing holiday”
Expensive (as everywhere else in Niseko) but great facilities and super-convenient with cloak/locker room practically next to the ski lift up Hirafu slopes. Great onsen too!

Very good”
this hotel DOES NOT have a shuttle from Kutchan JR Station so we were a little bit disappointed because we saw the less exoensive hotels do have their own shuttle waiting in front of the station. also, for using the Ozen, you will be charged for the tax fee (300 Yen), should it be included with the room rates?

Excellent”
This hotel's location is excellent for skiing as the ski lifts, equipment rental and ski academy is less than 50m. Literally ski in ski out. It has a natural Onsen bath area, free for hotel guest and JPY1000 for non- hotel guest. Cost is expensive. One may stay a little further away which is less expensive, but you may store your ski equipment in the rental shop and take the bus to and from your hotel. The Bus runs every 15 min. quite convenient.

Super Location for skiing”
It is a nice place with good service. Convenient location for skiing. Good facilities (convenience store, onsen, swimming pool, fast wifi, coffee shop, skiing access/locker room, etc.). Nice sushi place inside the hotel. All in all recommendable.

Not worth!”
Although the location is perfect for a ski in and out hotel, I think it's not worth! The floor still full of dust after cleansing!

location, breakfast n ski storage”
pros: location great breakfast well designed ski lockers and spacious ski storage the sushi restaurant cons: lack of english speaking front desk staff breakfast only served from 7-9 which is not good for the late risers / stormy day i wanna make a complaint to Agoda here. When I booked my room, I specified 2 rooms for 4 ppl. But when I confirmed the booking, it stated 2 rooms for 6 ppl even I cancelled it and rebooked again. I sent a msg to ask Agoda if the rate would be cheaper for 4 ppl, I received no answer from them. I was hoping the hotel could rectify it on arrival but the hotel said it was the deal between Agoda and me and they could not refund the extra breakfast coupons to us. So 10 breakfast coupons were wasted which cost 23,000 yens. We know that in Japan the number of ppl stay in a room affects the room rate. For this, we are not happy about Agoda in this case.

Skiers, beware! ”
Emergency services and response times for skiing accidents in Niseko/Hirafu was poor compared to other ski resorts I have been. Medical team took 15 mins to reach me while I froze and only because a family member went in search for help. No surveillance for skiers in trouble even in broad daylight. To be fair the hotel provided excellent support in FOC rides to and from the nearest hospital in Kutchan which is like 40 mins away in the icy conditions.Did not feel that Niseko had the best medical support in skiing emergencies. The hospital was rather well patronised by tourist skiers who had accidents. Hotel was fine, staff spoke English well enough, rooms rather small bathrooms even smaller and for the the price I paid, would have booked a 2 room apartment at the Vale. My advice for ski holidays is to check what the medical response and support is like at the ski resort, could save you some grief.

Ensure booking is for exact number of persons to avoid paying excess onsen tax”
The location is great-very near the lifts. No problems walking to Seico supermarket and restaurants (expensive but food is good -at least FujiZushi).Alas, I did't know there is an onsen tax. The reception did not say so even during check-in. Thus, I was charged for 2 persons even though I explained I was alone during check-in and again during check-out. The hotel explained that I had to book for 1 person with Agoda and just refused to waive off onsen tax for the 'phantom' 2nd guest. I then explained that I tried to book for 1 person on Agoda but reservation jumped to 2 during my booking. The hotel said that I should have called Agoda to change that. In the 1st place, I did not even know I would be charged for an onsen tax so I didnt bother when the room rate was the same during booking (regardless of whether it was for 1 or 2 guests).
