Worked out based on the price”
We got the rooms at a discount so we probably got the "discount rooms". For the price we paid for the rooms, it was worth the negatives. Location is good and near Osaka Castle. Train station, some shopping, and some places to eat are in the basement of the hotel. That makes getting from point a to b in Osaka quite painless. The Agoda amenities stated there is parking...there is NO PARKING. There is a parking garage just down the street and, luckily, the cost was very affordable (I think $12 per 24 hours). The room was noisy. We were on the 5th floor and could still hear people talking on the street and the floating dock creaking. The carpets were stained. The room needed an update. In spite of all the negatives, the location and the price we paid made it ok. 4 star it is not. 2 star probably or maybe we got the 2 star rooms. Still worth what we paid.

Fabulous View, Great location”
my family and i really enjoyed staying at hotel osaka castle. although i prefer to stay in traditional tatami rooms while i am in japan, the view of the river, especially at night with the lights shining on the sakura trees is so beautiful. the hotel is walking distance to osaka castle, so that was very convenient and fun to walk and look at the shops and people along the way.

Beautiful river side view, convenient location to Kyoto and kind staffs”
It's very close from subway station and convenient to go to Kyoto by Keihan railway. They changed my room as soon as they recognized missing my special request for a non-smoking room and river side view - it was even upgraded to a twin-bed room with a cherry blossom river side view. Although the hotel looks old but bathroom and toilet seemed to be renovated. Bathroom hardly smells bad somehow.. They were also very kind for baggage storage and guide to Osaka castle.

Business hotels great location but small rooms”
The hotel was clean and the location is very good, within a minute can restaurants be found. The hotel was located very near to the castle and was above a train station, so it was convenient for transportation to other parts of Osaka.

Castle Osaka Hotel”
The hotel is very near to the castle ( as one would hope from the name ). The staff were very anxious to please, and tried very hard to help in every way. The buffet breakfast is extremely good value for money -- a mix of Western and Japanese, and very tasty. But I have to say that the room was so small that we could not open our suit-cases simultaneously in there. Reminiscent of those lousy New York "boutique" hotels. Same claustrophobia. Nice, but definitely over-priced.

Great location, no so comfortable hotel”
Excellent location if you are interested in visiting Osaka Castle. Close to bus and subway stations and located in front of the river. However, the rooms have no view of the river, the bed is terribly uncomfortable, the room is no so clean, and although we ask for a non-smoking room, they gave us a smoking room. The breakfast is also bad.

I booked the hotel when I landed. Happy to find a comfortable room with acceptable price in new year eve. Staffs there are nice, the room is small but neat and tidy. Under ground and JR is right next to it.

Stay like in home”
I only stay one night, but the hotel staff in the front desk made me very satisfied. When I arrive earlier than check-in time, they are willing to keep my luggage and advise to spend some hours for beautiful sightseeing which is just nearby. When I was not so sure about getting to the airport, they offer help, so I just spend my night out while they were checking and after back to the hotel, I received a full page letter, explained about the transportation which is best suit for me attached with detailed map and timetable, that's amazing service!

Good location but small rooms. ”
Moved to a no smoking room which was not available when we first booked. View was not good, but we were warned. Hotel needs a little upgrading, a little warn around the edges, but location was good for us. River views directly outside the hotel were lovely, especially with the cherry blossoms.

Reasonable for the price”
Except for the first night when the air-conditioner was not reset, I have no complain for the price we pay. It is very convenient with subway just below the building and reasonable choices of restaurant and convenient stores available including a drug store.

Would not stay here again. The images of the hotel online were a bit deceiving. We expected rooms a lot nicer looking, and definitely more clean.

No carpet in room!!!”
There was no carpet in my room, which made the feel of the room totally unwelcoming, in fact I couldn't wait to leave next morning as soon as I woke up. Bare boards after a hard day's sightseeing is not for me. Good view of river from McDonalds directly below Hotel.
