Good location, clean, value for money”
The hotel was located at an old building but facilities and furniture were new. It had all the basic bathroom facilities needed - shampoo, shower gel, towel, hair dryer. Bottled water in the room was priced at 3.50 Euro each. Good bed. Pillow was okay. Not air conditioned but we were there end of May so the wind was cooling and we had the windows opened for ventilation. Hotel provided 2 standing fans in the room. Located about 3-4 mins walk from the nearest tram station which we took frequently to the city centre. Some days we also walk to the city centre - about 25 - 30 mins walk. Staff at the counter was wonderful but the staff is not there 24 hours. Guests may have to make special arrangements for check in after staffed hours. We were allowed to check in early when we arrived at about 11am. There is a pharmacy, some cafes and restaurants few doors down from the hotel. The only cons of this hotel is that there is no escalator thus not wheelchair friendly.
Very nice location, close to inner city and public transit.”
Very helpful and friendly staff. Quite descent and comfortable place to stay in Vienna.
Extremely bad experience of an accommodation deal ”
The accommodation is totally different with how it looks like in the pictures. Once you arrive and you see the pension and the rooms in reality, you get so upset, because it’s much worse than how it looks like in the pictures. You will try to understand why there is so big difference between what you expected and what you got and how you did not understand it from the pictures. What we saw in their website was totally different by the reality. By the seeing the picture of whole the building in their website you might think that it is a big hotel pension. But the pension is a very small part of the building. The pension is very old and not really well-maintained. The walls in our rooms (107) had major big cracks everywhere. Moreover it were many marks of dirts everywhere and it was really in need of renovation. The floor was also damaged and needed a fixing as well as the walls. The shower was not properly functional. Not a good water pressure and the upper part felt down on my toes
Amazing hotel, rooms, views. The receptionist Ludmilla was very kind and friendly. Clean and huge rooms.
Cautiously Recommended ”
The hotel is barely convenient and well-located, only a walking distance from all city landmarks. Unfortunately, it’s a bit noisy during the day due to the dense traffic around the hotel. Staff members are cool and efficient although they forgot to answer my request of putting a little “Happy Birthday” note in our room since we came to Vienna to celebrate my wife’s Bday :-(
Great location, 3-5 mins walk to the metro. ”
I stayed in this hotrl for 3 nights, it’s a convenient place as there are many reataurants, kiosks and coffee shops nearby. Also it’s close to attractions, allows me to back hotel and rest for awhile sometimes. Please pay attention to the checkin time, there are no staff at the looby after 7.
Close to tourist spot with good price”
Good Location, 5 mins walk from Schottentor Train Station or 1 min from the tram station. Walkable distance to the central area. A bit drawback is that there’s a few stair before accessing to the lift, and there’s no lift inside the hotel.
Good location close to Schottentor subway station.”
Clean, good wifi, good location. Wouldn't bother with the €10 breakfast however.
Good value for money.
Price and location”
For the price this property is very good value and the location is excellent. Room was comfortable and reasonably spacious and we had a nice view of the main street. Staff were rather indifferent to our presence and even a slight smile might boost their service level. Would stay here again if back in Vienna.
business and pleasure”
very pleasant, all in all a cozy place
Hotel Pension Baron Am ”
Not upto 4 star standard”
Stay was ok, there was no lift, the building is very old, rooms and other facilities are very congested.
Helpful staff at Hotel Pension Baron Am Schottento”
Very helpful staff.
Comfortable, Classy Hotel in Great Location”
This hotel is perfect for visitors who want a little traditional Viennese charm; it's located in an ornate building near the University and is full of dark wood, marble stairs, and classy decor, making you feel a bit like you're in a noir film. The rooms are on the small side, but comfortable and stylish, with great views. Wifi is free. The breakfast is simple but good, although the selection of cold cuts, spreads, and boiled eggs is not really worth the 10 euro price tag, especially not on a street with dozens of cafes offering cheaper deals. The staff were brilliant, able to answer any question and make arrangements for guests.
Your info about this pension hotel is not correct.”
As stated in your info regarding this hotel , they have parking for car but nothing . Have to look around the street to park your car which is inconvenient .
nice staff room clean best location ”
nice staff room clean best location and connection with public transport
Very nice small hotel. Friendly staff”
I stayed in the Hotel Pension Baron for 3 nights. The staff is absolutely amazing, helpful and caring. The old house in which the hotel is located is beautiful, in particular the wooden steps to go to the second floor is amazing. The room is clean and comfortable. The mattress good quality. I had a problem with the door of the bathroom but was solved soon. The television plays only channels in German language. The breakfast is quite basic but good.
