Superb Service”
Precious Garden of Samal is the place to go if you want a place to relax; it has modern minimalist rooms, delicious food, nice view from the balcony and the best place for Filipino hospitality. We got a matrimonial room and we loved it; the bed was big enough and I presume new because the mattress still had plastic, although I'd prefer to sleep without the plastic but I'm sure this can be taken care of. The pizza was great; really yummy and so was our breakfast by the beach side. We can see lots of plants from our room balcony. We were treated very well; Chris, the bellman/waiter, was very attentive to our needs and was very resourceful. I'd love to stay in Precious Garden the next time I go to Samal.

Amazing Food. Quite a Lovely Experience”
Precious Garden well maintained, well managed and very friendly. The main resort is about 100 meters off the actual beach in an immaculate garden setting. Walk down a palm shaded path and get to the private beach with lots of cabanas, a bar and a pier with another bar out over the water. Best of all was the food. It was really exceptional. We had the pizza from the wood fire oven…amazing. You must try the Kinilaw. It’s a local delicacy where fresh raw fish is drenched in vinegar and calamansi juice to ‘cook’ it. Seems the place is run by Germans, but I never met the owner. I’ve lived in the Philippines for 3 years and I have to say this place was beyond my expectations. Here is a run down of positive and negatives: Positives: 1. Food Food Food. Had German curry sausage, pizza, American breakfast, German breakfast, kinilaw, sizzling gambas and French fries. All were some of the best food I’ve ever had. 2. Cleanliness. The beds and room were basic, but good. Nothing really fancy. I stayed in what was called a matrimonial room. Air conditioner was fine. Bathroom was clean. 3. Service. Everyone we encountered was very nice and attentive. A lot of places in the Philippines have nice people. Attentive is the harder part. When I went done to the beach at night to sit in a cabana and relax, they send an attendant just for me to open the bar and let me drink. They also delivered food. 4. Price. The room was affordable. The food was affordable, but more expensive than you might find in the village. Not bad though. Negatives: 1. Like most hotels in the Philippines below 4 stars, this place was hot-water challenged. Took a solid 10 minutes before a weak stream of warm water came out. I’m used to it I guess. 2. Not a lot of people. If you want to people watch, this is not the place. Seemed like there were not a lot of rooms. Felt like I was the only guy there. Even at the beac

very relaxing and enjoyable visit”
A pleasant surprise for both of us. We extended for a week beyond the initial 3 day booking since we liked it so much. The location is about 5 to 10 minutes ride on a motor trike to the passenger wharf for the ferry boat to Davao. The ferry costs 13 pesos/person, very cheap and fun. I found the food at the hotel's restaurant reasonably priced and very good quality with lots of variety in the dishes offered. The staff at the hotel were absolutely charming and couldn't do enough for us. In a quirk of fate or mild coincidence, all of them had names starting with 'J'... Jade, Janice, Juni, Jane, Jessica, Joy etc etc. My partner is Jay so he fit right in. We found it very gay friendly so will definitely come back for an extended stay on our next visit to Samal Garden Island.

Hard to imagine a nicer place in this price range ”
A P125 trike ride from the ferry landing, then a friendly checkin. The spacious elegance of the room with parquet flooring was a pleasant surprise. I came for the swimming, and there's a planked walkway out over the reef to an open hut, from which stairs lead down into deeper water than right by the beach. Even here it helps to wear wet shoes, because there's lots of sea stars, sea urchins and other critters on the bottom. Had several great swims with a view of nearby Vanishing Island. My only regret is that the promised boat ride to this sandbar never materialized, because--reportedly--the boat owner did not answer his phone. The extensive grounds of Hotel Precious Garden are impeccably kept, and the dinner in the open-air restaurant was delicious. There is no pool (yet), but I didn't come to swim in a pool. Overall I feel we hit the jackpot with this resort.

Excellent Hotel, in the making”
I arrived ard 8pm to the hotel, and wasn't sure whether the motorbike rider mistakenly dropped us at somebody's backyard. There was a bar/lobby where we checked in. But in the morning, the greenery from the garden was very relaxing for my eyes, and we sure had a good break. Though there were still some on-going refurbishment work, I expect them to be ready the next time I visit Samal Island, with even more amenities..

Beautiful Place with Nice People”
The resort is large with a private beach and pier. The rooms are very clean. In fact the room I checked in would probably be the best among all resort rooms I tried in the Philippines. The employees are extremely kind and helpful. I took many pictures of their flowers and my friends said they were really beautiful. If there was a dive shop and a dive spot near by, it would have been the most ideal resort for me on Samal island.

Buy a generator-warm beer and brownouts ”
It was a very nice hotel, friendly staff, nice, small beach, very well maintained, but I also have some critics. The management should buy a generator to limit brownouts who happened all the time during my stay. The beer was with 60 Pesos far too expensive for Samal standards, e.g in Samal Island Huts I only paid 35 Pesos. And also in a standard room I expect a queen size bed for a couple and not 2 single beds. Gerrit Buurman, Travel agent, Angeles City, Philippines

We had the most relaxing vacation”
We stayed at Precious Garden Resort where it seems like we’re the only guests due to its spacious and peaceful scenery with a beach front and floating cavana! You can also take your breakfast by the beach 🥰 but the best thing is having a big room with a king sized bed plus free entrance fee & boat ride to Vanishing Island for a reasonable rate‼️ Things to improve on are airconditioning and low water supply but overall it was a great stay

Beautiful Setting and beach”
The drive from the ferry to the hotel won't fill you with a lot of confidence but as soon as you drive into the gardens it's a pleasant surprise. The gardens, the restaurant and the hotel are in a beautiful setting. The beach is swept and maintained everyday and has 4 or 5 huts where you can sit and watch the water. There are 2 bars there as well - the beach bar and the floating bar - amazing. The hotel room I booked was not what I got as I am sure I booked a double bed but ended up in a room with 2 singles. The rooms are very large and each has their own table outside on the patio. Terrific setting. No bathroom stuff supplied like shampoo or tissues. Hot water was available on the first day but I could not get any the second day. No big deal but a hot shower after a swim would have been nice. The quality of the food at the restaurant is first class. WiFi was very patchy but working and it was free. If you want little to do, just read, swim or laze around then this is the place. Other resorts I found out do offer more things to do.

Nice hotel but terrible beach”
Hotel Precious Garden is located a bit off the beaten path in a beautiful garden, but its not really a beachfront. Not to mention the "beach" is a muddy small strip of land with horrible access, not so clean water and during lowtide absolutely unsuitable for anything. On the positive side the hotel has free of charge boat trips to Vanishing island and very good restaurant on the premises. The rooms are pretty basic without a fridge, but clean and accomodating.

Big room space, very clean & well maintained resort”
The staff was very friendly, courteous and hospitable. The place is conveniently located just a kilometer away from the town center's commercial area, public market and Babak port. They not only allowed us to bring food & drinks, but also gladly provided us with plates & kitchen wares. The sweet ripe mangoes, grilled tuna and other foods were sold in low prices in the vicinity of the town proper - so affordable that we just can't help but buy and bring some in the hotel.

Surprise place”
This place was a surprise and a great value for the money. My GF and I stayed for three days. The food and staff was great. It was quiet but it was the middle of the week. They were very helpful in arranging travel and activities. I would certainly come back here. Samal is a beautiful place.

Good getaway from the crowd”
Location is secluded. Area is wide with lots of trees and a nice garden. If you want to get away from the noise and the crowd, this is the perfect place. Food is great as well as the staff. Beach area/shoreline can still be improved though. Room is ok, furniture a little dusty, low water pressure on the shower. Overall, it was a nice and worthy stay. Thanks hotel Precious!

Hidden paradise hotel in Samal Island”
Nice hotel in lovely setting in the garden, although not beachfront you can access to the beach by walking merely 2 minutes. The rooms are clean and cozy, approchable staff and yummy food serve in the restaurant are really affordable. You can request to have your breakfast and lunch in the beach. There is early fisherman catch beside the beach and have it cooked in the restaurant for a minimal fee. Definitely I will come back to this hotel when I visit Davao again in the future.

Great Value for Money”
There were four adults and one toddler in our group and we occupied three rooms. All the rooms were clean and modern. The experience could have been enhanced with a small fridge in each room. The staff were all warm and friendly. The beach bar good fun and the food was excellent. The hotel setting in a garden was an added bonus. When they complete the swimming pool it will a fantastic place. The only slight disappointment is that there is no service of any kind after 9pm, so a nice and relaxing stay. Al in all the Precious Garden Hotel was a very pleasant surprise, so much so my wife and I are already planning our next vista there.

Great place for a relaxed stay on the beach”
Precious Garden is a great place to spend some relaxing time. Not crowded, friendly staff, beautiful gardens. The beach is on the small side although the hotel has some great huts where you can relax. If you come for swimming please look for another place, since you need high tide to be able to swim. Overall a great experience and an excellent way to spend the weekend.

Very friendly and helpful staff”
The hotel's best asset is their staff- very friendly, polite and accommodating. They made us feel like we were not holiday-makers but family. Had some good chats with them and they helped me as much as they could have done when I lost my tablet. They also helped me arrange day trips for my family. The hotel is in a very serene and quiet location, making it ideal for us to just have quiet nights in and spending precious family time after some adventurous activities in the day. Could not thank you enough for all your help! See you soon!

Good Valie for money, good service, good food, quiet place... But...”
Food: I really love the food, its actually affordable... Its still like buying food at the trendy cafés and restaurant in Davao so no promblem about that. Room: affordable room, it clean, especially the cr! I love it... Its quiet and has a balcony however be careful of the sheets... Sad it may seem but they are not changing the covers and comforters :/ its disappointing... We end up itching all night :( ... I hope they address that... So if you think the sheets aren't clean... Replace new ones stat. Ambiance: I love that its quiet that it feels like you own the place however if there are events then no brainer it could get noisy xD just find a date that isn't going to be crowded Beach: the beach is clean yet i got disappointed in swimming in it... The sand underwater is sticky :/ so be careful... Better wait for high tide to come! But overall I am satisfied since me and my family just want a retreat from work and city noise.

Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
the hotel has big and comfortable rooms. the garden is spacious and nice and to stay there is quite relaxing. the only con that i see in this hotel is the very expensive food and beverages in their restaurant. there are no restaurants around as the hotel is located in the far north of the island. it is very quiet in the evenings though mosquito abound so better take along an insect- repellant spray. it has its own harbor in the beach as well as its own beach front where one can enjoy swimming. the staff is super friendly and always smiling and very courteous. all in all the place is good if one wants a real retreat from the outside world.
