I found the President hotel ticked all the boxes and everything I wanted for my 5 day stay in Budapest recently it's in a great location surrounded by pavement restaurants and bars, in a very quiet sedate leafy neighbourhood with trees and parks, short pleasent walk to the Danube River hotel interior elegant with quiet rooms well maintained and also had a small well equipped gymnasium and sauna spa area staff were professional and courteous. I will go always back there when in Budapest and recommend hotel to anyone looking for a mid range 4 star hotel

Lovely hotel arrival spoilt by grumpy receptionist”
The hotel is lovely. In quiet district but still close to attractions, a few bars and very nice restaurants. Our arrival however was spoilt by the unsmiling unhelpful receptionist who just really couldn't be bothered to be even courteous let alone helpful. The other ones we saw were much better giving us a map and useful information. Smiles are universal and cost nothing. That said our stay was most enjoyable, lovely breakfast which made it extremely good value. Spa was lovely, shame it closed so early. At 8pm

The main problem was the restaurant were the breakfast was served - a dungeon that lacked any glamor or a feeling of luxury and even comfort. Spa was only half-opened for a few hours in the evening. No one from the staff there, gym closed, no pool, cheap decor, not really my cup of tea. But the price with agoda deal was quite good considering the location.

Pros. Roof top overlooking the city. Bar on the top top, facilities. Like sauna and gym are good. Cons, expensive for the price. Not good Location, looks. Like 3.star hotel. than than 4 star.

I booked and paid for Double room but I got a Twinroom with two single bed . When I asked for change, attic room the reception told me there is no another option and all the other rooms are booked and it’s Hotel fault. In addition the room is not like the pictures that I saw before uploaded on the website. It’s attic room with just one small window!!!!!!! So I really have a bad experience for the first time in my trips and I don’t suggest this hotel . Pool is closed. Breakfast is really poor and fatty. I preferred to eat in outside cafes. Not again never never

Rooms smell terrible . rude stuff ”
1st day I went with my wife to the room 245 and we saw that the room had 2 single beds connected instead of 1 double bed that I had paid. I went to the reception and I try to contact with someone. The front office manager came to me and with a very rude way told me that this is it and that they don’t have double beds in the hotel and that he cannot buy a double bed for me. She make me upset and I went back I my room that I realized that the air condition has max temp. 20 degrees and smell terrible. We call the reception that they brought us 2 bathrobes. This make me very mad because they told us when we call back that is too late and there is not technical at the hotel. We ask them to change room and after few min they gave us new room 702 that smell much more terrible so we went back asking at least 2 more blankets.We ask to speak to the manager but they told us that he was on vacation.Next day we saw the Guest Rel. who managed to change room 502 smaller but ok Very bad experience

Small Room Hotel in Business Location”
The stay was pleasant despite the fact that the staff at the rooftop bar was relatively unfriendly and had no service-mind. The room was small but very practical and the bed was comfortable. We had a wonderful breakfast, lots of choices from tasty warm and cold selections, the staffs at the breakfast room were very thoughtful, attentive and friendly. There is a wellness club and swimming pool at the Basement of the hotel, but with our booking, we were't entitled to use them, or unless we pay around EUR 15,- per person per day, which we found it, ridiculous for the guest to pay such amount to enter to the swimming pool at the hotel. The receptionists were helpful, though some speak little English, they tried much and put lots of efforts for us, so that we had an enjoyable stay in Budapest, thanks to the young receptionist girl, who were very friendly and attentive. About the location, we love it, the hotel located at the prime-business location of Budapest, very safe area to walk at night and all day long, only less than 2 minutes to US Embassy and a few minutes walk to the Metro Station and less than 10 minutes to Parliament House. Overall we are fairly happy with our stay at The President Hotel. Personally, we rate this hotel 3.5 stars.

Friendly business hotel”
my objective was to see budapest mainly on foot, using a comfortable (i.e. uk 3 star standard) hotel at a reasonable price. hotel president delivered on this in all respects. it is a business hotel with all the facilities you might expect and yet the service was always friendly and personable. there are lots of restaurants nearby, but oddly, the best meal i had during my stay was in the hotel (pike perch. i hasten to add that this was in the ground floor, not the roof top restaurant. views were certainly good on the roof, but it felt like you were on a helipad, prices were very substantially higher and they insisted on playing loud music. i'd stay there again, if i had a similar deal ( around per night off peak).

the best receptionist ever”
We got lost on the way to hotel because of wrong postcode set to my GPS. We called hotel and Peter explained everything needed to get to right place. He also took care of parking place for my car and helped with parking tips, fee, gave feedback about to restaurant we wanted to go to and add also some tips for private trip over the weekend. He really helped to fomr my opinion about hotel but also Budapest city itself. One cons - breakfast in minus one floor in place without windows - its a shame in such a beautiful city and hotel. Hotel is located in really city center, 2 minutes from St.Stephen Basilica,very nice wellness and also rooms.

Great hotel with fantastic location”
We were visiting Budapest for my partners birthday. We wanted a hotel that was in close approximaty to the Christmas markets and the main sites. The hotel delivered on all aspects. We were a 5 minute walk if that from the Christmas markets which was perfect. All the main attractions were close too. The hotel has a really nice roof terrace where you could get some great panoramic shots of the city. At night it was also beautiful up here with all the lights. When we went they also had an ice skate rink which wasn’t the best but you can’t argue for the money they charged to hire the skates. We still enjoyed ourselves. The hotel has a nice breakfast with a great choice of food. You can get your usually eggs bacon sausages, cereals, European breakfast, pastry’s etc. We would definitely go back to this hotel if we went back to Budapest and would recommend to anyone. For my partners birthday which I didn’t tell them about, we got a bottle of champagne in our room. Great touch.
