Originally built in 1882, this historic Peranakan house has been lovingly renovated and is now one of the most popular hotels in the Melaka area. Highly recommended ”
Lovely decor, well maintained public areas, good service and breakfast, all located in the midst of things. Would definitely stay again. Excellent source of local family history and stunning decor, just be aware of the wedding photo shoots although they were sensitively managed.
This is possibly the best hotel around this area. 5 minutes walk to jonker street. The hotel lobby look like the museum with all the antiques around. Hotel do provide parking. Hotel room got the safety box. Breakfast was good.
Location Location Location!”
If you your trip to melaka involves jonker street, this is possibly the best hotel you can stay. Walking distance from all the little pockets of culture with private parking. Will come definitely stay here again whenever I drop by this area.
Loved everything about Hotel Puri”
This is a fabulous hotel. I’ve been on the road in SE Asia now for a month and Hotel Puri is one of my absolute favorites. Room not large but very nice. Breakfast buffet was very good. The entire place oozes it’s history and has been lovingly restored. Can’t beat the location; even fairy quiet. Staff always very friendly and of great help. Even have a secure place to park the car while staying. I couldn’t be more satisfied.
Nice little boutique hotel in strategic location ”
The room is clean and spacious with nice decor, just a few minutes' walk to Jonker Street. Hotel parking is just a few units away, very convenient.
Would stay again”
This hotel is convenient, a few minutes walk to the DT19 MRT station, either exit A or exit E. Exit E is next to Chinatown Point, a shopping mall with lots of restaurants and a grocery store, etc. The room is big enough for me, and I like the water pressure. As other reviews, it's quiet, I had good sleep every night. The duvet and the linens are fresh and clean. WiFi is very strong. I'd rather pay a little more than staying at a capsule.
Nice breakfast, friendly staffs”
Hotel with lots of antique, good for those photographer lovers. We booked standard twin. The room was consider small, but ok for both of us as we were on business trip, not for vacation. The bed was soft and easily moveable. There was curtain screen inside the bathroom to separate the wet area from dry area. The pressure for shower in second room was better than the first room. Why second room? Because the aircond in 1st room was not working perfectly. After we bathed, we still feel the room was not cold even we had set it to 16deg C with max. fan. So, the staffs offered us to change to another room-128. The space, shower and aircond in room 128 are better than the first one. However, for those who like cold, please think twice before choose to stay here. Another thing i not so prefer is they still using “brown” blanket which is thicker and “fluffy”. By the way, Puri hotel gave us a lot of surprises- has its own car park nearby, has lift especially for those who not convenient in walking, has it own massage center, has it own restaurant/cafe and offering buffet breakfast. The food variety is consider a lot compare to other hotels who also offering similar amount of charges. Nevertheless, the taste was good, which also commented by some of the reviewers previously.
Puri is within walking distance to Jonker Street. Many food outlets in the neighbourhood. This is house within old buildings, with higher rooms overlooking the old skyline. Breakfast is adequate, eaten at a nice courtyard. Rooms are clean, mostly w/o windows.
Location is good, just behind jonker street. Hotel is old, therefore don’t expect too much. Breakfast is simple, with noodle and egg station. Otherwise everything is clean. Place is full of heritage and history. Just beside a few museums, location is good. And parking is limited but secured. Value for money accommodations.
This place was just what I was looking for after a bad experience at a hostel. While a bit pricey for my budget, it was worth the splurge to have a great room, excellent breakfast included, in a great location and a great staff. I highly recommend it!
stayed for 1 night at this hotel. the hotel location is very good that we just needed to turn around a corner and found many restaurants nearby. but there might be band shows till 2am, it might be better to live on a higher floor. the hotel facilities are also very good, the room is clean & large and the hotel itself looks very nice too.
Great location and hotel”
Really enjoyed this hotel which appears much smaller than it is. There are some wonderful artifacts and collections of original furniture and other items. Staff very friendly and helpful, excellent variety of food for breakfast but the housekeeping services could be a bit more efficient. We stayed for 5 nights, once were left with only one towel and the cups in our room were never washed/ replaced. If staying more than a couple of nights consider upgrading your room for hanging space and seating. Overall we were very happy with this choice.
wonderful heritage hotel”
really, realy satisfied with everything: excellent location; the ambience of the hotel which leads us to the old time was quite impressive; staff was polite and even elegant; recommend you this hotel strongly when I make a comparison with other standard hotels.
Lovely hotel, staff were so helpful. Located very central for the sites. ”
Only suggestion is that the double deluxe room we were allocated, lovely though it was, is situated on the street which meant that it was noisy. If staying the weekend of avoid this room as the place gets manic at the weekends.
Hotel is very well situated close to (but not on) Jonker Street. Everywhere is clean and tidy, building is very interesting. Staff very friendly and helpful. We booked the basic room and missed not having a mini fridge. Would recommend spending a little more for superior room
More than Budget Hotel”
Hotel is classic local style, very beautiful, location is excellent and they provide delicious breakfast
Lovely hotel in the middle of old town Melaka. Beautiful rooms with Chinese furnishing all through. Lots of nooks for a quiet rest including an informative "History room". Very good breakfast in lovely setting. Staff very friendly and helpful.
A quick stopover”
Puri has always been the accommodation to go to for our family for the last few years, especially if we want easy access to the weekend night market. By far, this is one of the most affordable and comfortable hotel in the vicinity
Second time staying at this hotel. Love the location as it's right next to Jonker Walk. Especially good for families with young children like us as our takeaway food is still warm by the time we reached the hotel. Kids get to sleep while parents get to enjoy local food in an aircon environment.
The hotel is very nice in a great location. The staff at the front counter were excellent. The only negative was one of the staff on duty for breakfast clearly didn't want to be there and really should not be working there.
