Opened in 2009, the Hotel Purpur provides intimate luxury in the heart of Prague. The hotel is situated minutes from the famous Wenceslas Square along with numerous other cultural attractions. The 22 studio apartments have been thoughtfully decorated and are complete with modern comforts such as a shower, fully equipped kitchenette, mini bar, flat screen television, as well as Internet access. Lovely hotel with great services and location”
I was staying in Purpur hotel for 2 days travelling alone in Prague, I had good input on where to go and how to get tickets to other city by the ever friendly receptionist. Near to metro station and there is a couple of nice bars near to hotel, a bargain for the price you pay!
Absolutely nice hotel, kind stuffs”
My expectations for the hotel were less optimistic when I was booking the room: low price which hotel offered at Agoda looked a bit suspicious for the Prague zone 1. But when I arrived to the hotel and saw the facilities, I understood it was a really good deal! Very convent location, nice romantic interior of the hotel and of the room, facilities to cook directly in the room, big bed, great choice of a bar in the room, very friendly, helpful and well-English-speaking stuffs, good breakfast menu - varieties of choice. The only minor disadvantage - very weak signal of wi-fi in the room (at least at the 5th floor where I had my room). I recommend this hotel as for single travelers as for couples.
Unique decorating, good value”
Purpur is a great value, especially compared to what you get in most European cities. We paid $50 for a private room with a kitchenette and a nice balcony. Normally this is the price of 2 beds in a dorm without breakfast or even a towel! The decorations are bright! Our room was all pink, which was fun. Patio was awesome to enjoy a drink and watch the sunset over a neighboring church. The bathroom design looks cool, but isn't entirely functional. The water pressure was low and the water quit on us all together a couple of times (but not for long). The bathroom gets pretty wet also since there is no real lip to the shower. The bathroom also had an off-putting smell from the moment we walked in that never really went away either. Wifi was a bit shaky, but usable. Breakfast was good (fresh fruit, pastries, wheat bread, eggs, cheese, veggies, meat, coffee, juices, yogurt, cereals). Staff was always friendly and helpful. It's not next to all the tourist attractions, but we saw that as a positive because we didn't want to be stuck with all the tourists all day. There are some nice restaurants/cafes on the same block and a convenience store also. Short walk to the center of everything, ie hoards of tourists. It's a great value all in all!
Lovely place with great value / self-cateirng”
This is a great place to stay. Very cheap but really nice rooms with very comfortable beds. The room design was really nice. Great to have self-catering facilities which I made good use of, cooked a few pasta meals. A couple of missing items you may want to bring along - scissors and tin opener! (Opening my milk carton was a messy affair...) The fridge was a bit full with minibar items which made fitting in my own stuff a bit of a rearrangement exercise. Other reviews mentioning the difficulty of the keys are definitely valid, I sometimes spent a good few minutes trying to unlock the door; quite stressful when you are running late for a train after check-out! The breakfast was below average, but did the job. These are minor complaints though considering what you are getting for the price here. The location is great, less than 15mins from train station and I walked to all the main tourist attractions. The room had a feeling of luxury and was great to be able to cook, make tea, coffee etc. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I was to come back to Prague.
Practical for Muslims”
I was in the hotel after a day trip in Ceske Svycarsko with 4 other friends. It is not hard to find the hotel as we are familiar with Prague. The room I stayed was a double standard and I am quite happy with it because it is clean and the interior is neat with red/pink theme. The toilet has hair dryer and a big mirror and towels. The only cons is it has not shower gel but soap. The kitchen is well-equipped with utensils which are convenient for Muslim travelers like me who sometimes prefer cooking their own food as it is hard to find halal food in a foreign land. As a student with limited budget, the comfort I received after hiking for 5 hour in the mountain worth the money I paid and my friends were also happy with Purpur Aparthotel.
Good value hotel with free wifi”
The hotel is pretty small one on a small road but was not difficult to find. It's only ten minutes walk from Wenceslas Square and the Museum metro station and only around 20 minutes walk from the central station, Praha hl n. Charles Bridge is 30 minutes away on foot or a few minutes away by tram. Room is pretty small but enough for a good night sleep. Bathroom is also small but very clean. The receptionist is friendly and helpful (and beautiful). We could even buy tram ticket from her. What I like the most about the hotel is the free wifi which perform quite well. The only negative thing about Purpur is that they did not turn on the heating when it was rather cold for us (around 15~16 degree C, I suppose). However, the receptionist did give us a small portable heater which helped. Overall, it is a good value.
Fantastic Hotel for the world traveller!”
Really enjoyed my stay! highly recommended! Hotel staff very respectful and corporative. Breakfast was a good balance with variety. Modern interior deco. Clean tidy rooms regularly serviced. Not the easiest place to find though could do with some sign posts with directions, however location ideal for your central Prague experience in close proximity to a few of the metro stations.
excellent hotel, enjoyable stay”
Friendly staff, nice and clean room, good value for money. The breakfast is also very nice. The hotel is close to the tram station and convenient to travel to the main attractions of Prague. I will stay it next time if I travel to Prague.
Nice hotel, excellent location”
A lovely boutique hotel right in the centre of Prague. The hotel seemes brand new (or just coming out of renovation) when we stayed there. The decor in the room was refreshingly different from the boring usual hotel style. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast ok. Only thing missing was the air conditioning in the room. Walk-in shower can make quite a mess in the bathroom and don't forget to pull the curtains around the shower if you don't want to be seen while taking a shower.
A nice and clean hotel!”
cleanliness is tip top..the room itself, the toilet is all very clean! beautiful place with pink bedding and decoration, friendly staff/receptionist, location is totally easy to find, and in the center of town so it is very near to places of attraction in prague. breakfast is also variety, it is very nice! love the waffles! the only downside is the room is quite warm..you need to open the window at night for a comfortable sleep. and oh, wifi is sometimes slow..
Excellent breakfast. Great value for money hotel”
The stay was excellent. Anyone who'd like to explore Prague on foot should consider staying in this hotel. It's great value for money. Great location with FANTASTIC breakfast.
Good location between the station n city centre”
We stated in Prague for 3 nights and pur pur is overall a nice place to stay. It is located in the middle between the train station an the city centre, it would be a bit tiring if u walk to the hotel carrying lugguages but my frd n I got used to that so its by far okay for us;) there r pubs and good restaurant just located in the street on the left of the hotel~there r supermarkets along that street too~ the only problem might be the housekeeper didnt lock our room everyday after she made the room, which is a safety problem needed to be reminded.
Exceptional”
Excellent location in old Prague. Clean. Good beds. Great room. Good breakfast. This hotel is a must to explore the city from here.
Good location, excellent value for your money”
Purpur Hotel is in nice street nearby old town square, ask reception which way is best to walk. Staff friendly and helpful and can speak English. Also easy to walk to river and cross to other side. Breakfast is excellent buffet. Room had small kitchenette and windows that could open. Beds are a little too soft but overall a good place to stay.
great position”
we had 4 rooms here all were quit different the best rooms are on the 4th floor with great street views and large balconys the staff were helpfull and friendly it wes an ideal location close to lots of bare all that wernt expensive and only a shret walk wo the square all rooms wree newly refurbished and clean i wood stay here again prague is a wonderfull city full of intrest and charm all in all excellent value for money
Excellent location, very friendly staff”
We were there for 2 nights, enjoying the excellent location. Only used public transportation to get to the international station, otherwise anything else was walk distance. I can recommend it to everyone wisiting Prague for sightseeing!
good place near centre, friendly staff ”
we booked again when we came back to Prague storing our bicycles was no problem and leaving luggage till 17 hours till our train departure was also OK
Good hotel at fair price”
I and my missus had a 3 day, 2 night, holiday in Prague and stayed at Hotel Purpur. The good things: - helpful staff. - breakfast was good too. Bread, meat, cheese, fruits, juices, cakes and so on. - good location. Easy access to attractions. To improve: - internet was not really working fine on the 3rd floor where our room was at. - found some smelly food left overs from the fridge in the room. Maybe pay more attention to cleaning up the rooms? Also rooms were not cleaned up daily. - the curtains do not cover the windows, therefore the sun in the morning wakes you up a little earlier than you planned to wake up. - no aircon, room might get hot on sunny days. You can ask for a fan from the reception.
no frills place - good value”
I's a good place if you don't want to spend a fortune on accommodation in Prague. HAs everything you need and close to everything.
cozy and clean and good accessiblity! awesoem!”
nice and clean! if I find hotel in prague again. without saying that, go again!
