It was no surprise that St Moritz was going to be the most expensive place we stayed during our month long tour of the Dolomites, but the bed was easily the least comfortable and the pillows were the worst I’ve used anywhere in the world during my whole 50 year of life. They had bottles of soap and moisturiser in the bath, but at the hand sink both the soap and moisturiser were empty. We got a nightcap of two gin and tonics and the bartender upsold us to two gins priced at 27Fr plus tonic (AUD 92.94), but even though he didn’t have enough for two full shots he’d committed to the sale and still charged us the full price hoping we hadn’t noticed the measure. He also had a child behind the bar for the entire time we were there, encouraging him to take drink requests, mix drinks, and serve them; which made us both deeply uncomfortable. The same child was again behind the bar the next day being praised by both staff and guests for his work with alcohol. Honestly, it’s a matter for child protection or for child labour.

Had a family room for 3 adults. Very Victorian in decor. Room has a beautiful view of the mountains and little of the lake. Hotel provides free shuttle to the train station. Toilet and bath is huge. Beds are comfortable. Pillows are extremely soft and flat. Breakfast was good.

This hotel is luxury personified. From the time you arrive in St moritz till you leave, you are treated like royalty. They offer free transfers to and from the St Moritz train station. The hotel room was spacious with an amazing view of St moritz and the mountains, and the sunset view was stunning. The breakfast variety was great and perhaps my favorite thing was that they give you access to Ovaverva. It is a huge wellness center directly across the road with about 6 pools, one of which is an outdoor heated pool. There are also other things at Ovaverva. The hotel also offers rental for ski equipment at a reasonable price. I would book this hotel a million times over.
