Just ok
During my travels to Sasebo, I felt like one of the staff members at the check-in counter could have been kinder. I do not speak great Japanese but I will make an effort. I just felt put off by her demeanor and lack of willingness to inform me of the hotel. The hotel room was rather small compared to what I was expecting. I had a double room on a smoking level (it was the only room available). I do not smoke but was not overall worried about the smoking. You could only smell it in the hall. I felt like the cleaning staff were very kind whenever they saw me and made small conversation with me in Japanese. They also left me bags outside my room as I declined my room being cleaned. The restaurants in the hotel offered very little but what they offered in the main restaurant (where they serve breakfast) was good. It was well placed with the train station across the street and the bus station downstairs. Which made departure really simple. Overall, the hotel was not bad it just really expensive for very little. I paid on average $90 dollars a night +. That is excessive for this area in my opinion. I travel often and stay at all kinds of places. So this is not my first rodeo with hotels.

Only 2 mins from the station
We arrived at 10pm. by JR and very surprised that the hotel is located just cross the road. However, our room was in a good condition except the smell, so we asked for changing. The reception came straight away after the call and help us for the new room. Great service.

Good location
The hotel is just a minute or 2 walk away from Sasebo station. Very new hotel, room size is small (typical japan room size), but comfortable stay.

Smelly Room
The room we stayed in was for 4, so it is big but the room has a stinky smell that even if we already opened the window and the dehumidifier, the room still smelled.
