Rooms (we had 3) were larger than in other Japanese hotels that we have experienced. The rooms were modern and clean. The front desk were excellent in greeting us and responding to our requests. Proximity to the underground was an asset. The breakfast is good with a selection of foods that will meet the needs of Japanese as well as North Americans, Europeans and Australians.

1. locations is a 3 min walk from minami-asagaya station 2. 15 min walk from the Asagaya station 3. there's a few convenient stores like 7-11 4. there's a yoshinoya (food resto) 3 mins from the hotel 5. from the airport, it's only 1 transfer if you take NEX, transfer to Tokyo station, but from there, it's 15 stops to minami-asagaya station, which takes abt 35 mins in the subway 6. if you have an early flight, don't stay here, you won't make it, bcoz the 1st route is at 5:15am to Tokyo station, which will bring you to Tokyo around 5:47am or so. 7. the bidet in my bathroom did not work 8. have them assign you on a higher floor, whihc i have, bcoz higher floor has less cigarette smell 9. Their Breakfast is NICE! quite a number of food choices 10. Very clean rooms, my room is not small, it's good size. 11. Makse sure you check how much was charged to your credit card, because mine was $17 more...not sure if that's because of the exchange rate, but that's a big difference.

Metro was 2-3 mins walk away from the hotel. (5-6 stops away from Shinjunku) However, nearby hotel there were nothing much. Good thing there was a convenient store just right below the hotel. Washing machine + dryer only have 2 sets. Could increase more and change location to a quieter area to prevent disturbance to the rest staying at level 2. Personally i stayed at level 5. Breakfast was rather disappointing, i gave my breakfast ticket and find my own breakfast outside during the 4 nights stay. Room space/shower was okay. Toilet seat no heated unlike other rest of Japan's hotel. Should provide 2 room key instead of 1.

Check-in 15:00 and check-out 10:00. Very close to Minami Asagaya Marunouchi subway station. About 10 minutes walk to JR Asagaya station.

Far from activities center”
The room was unclean. There were bugs in beds made me sleepless all night. Staff at reception was bot helpful nor knowledgeable. This hotel is not teally catered to overseas visitors

Bad stay”
Distance to subway is quite near however the subway is located very far from city centre which is not convenient at all. The hotel staffs are not friendly at all. Room is not really clean. The bed is too small and need to be changed as the centre part are cave in. Overall, not recommended for stay unless no other better choice.

Terrific Place to Stay for the Traveller on the Go”
(A single note before I begin, I am bilingual in Japanese which had a positive impact on my stay on the whole. Please take this in mind when reading the comments below.) I stayed in Route Inn Tokyo Asagaya during my own preparation to move into an apartment proper in the Tokyo area. I thereby came in earlier than my set check-in time with a tremendous amount of luggage, which the staff was more than willing to hold for me while I was out running about the streets, without a single complaint or even allowing me to help. This fantastic attitude persisted throughout my stay, and I saw many an occasion where the staff would quit out of their way to help out a guest (even non-Japanese speaking ones) with a myriad of problems. Japanese service does have a reputation for being quite fantastic, but for a business hotel this was beyond expectations. The rooms are perfectly fine, if a bit small for my typical American tastes. They don't come with many amenities (a lá bottled water or the like) but the cleaning crew does a fantastic job on the day-to-day, and they're quite comfortable for the size. My only real complaint here was that the room had rather poor ventilation, and turning on the air to cool the place down didn't really seem to have much an effect to speak of. The buffet breakfast is at an incredibly inconvenient time (well, for those that enjoy sleeping in every now and then), but it is quite tasty if you're not picky, and generally gives a better showing than most American hotels offering the same could say. Apologies for the constant jumps here and there, but I would certainly be amiss to end this review without mentioning the fantastic location. Minami-Asagaya station (Marunouchi Line) is about a 3-5min. walk from the hotel, and can get you nearly everywhere you'd want to go (including Shinjuku) within just a few stops. If you're willing to walk maybe 5mins. more, you'll hit Asagaya Station which offers a fantastic selection of above-ground rail transport.

It's all worth it!”
Staying in this hotel was an excellent decision for me and my wife, who recently stayed there for 6 nights. The staff were all very friendly and sincerely accommodating from the front desk to the dining hall. It was nice having a sumptous breakfast in the hotel before setting off for a tour of the city. At the end of each exhaustive day it always felt good going back to minami asagaya. As we emerged from the metro station, cool breeze and neatly arranged trees would welcome us. It was also very peaceful in this area, just exactly what we needed. I highly recommend staying in Hotel Route Inn Tokyo Asagaya and I would not have second thoughts of booking in the same hotel on my next journey to Tokyo. Staying there was like home in a different country!

Very clean, comfortable and friendly staff”
hotel route inn tokyo asagaya has very comfortable and clean rooms. the facilities provided are excellent, considering the price. a very important thing was the perfect sound proofing of the rooms, no noise from other residents, and no noise from the street. that's rare. staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. my only negative comment was that i turned up at the hotel at 01.00 pm, after a 20 hour journey, and totally exhausted. but their check in time is 03.00 pm, and i had to wander the streets of asagaya for 2 hours, when all i wanted was a shower and some sleep.

Comfortable stay, low price ”
I was worry after booking a single room for two person but it is fine for me with the room and bed at Route Inn. The most thing I like is the staff will clean the room daily and replace new towel. So, everyday when I'm back, I feel so comfortable when I see the bed and toilet is tidy and clean. Secondly, hotel provide buffet breakfast which is delicious with all kind of food and it is different every day. So, you will enjoy even you will stay for one week and of cause it save money. Tokyo food is really expensive! I will more prefer staying at here rather than Shinjuku because Shinjuku have a busy and complicated subway station. For first time visitor like me, I'm lost each time I enter this station. That's why, I will prefer Asagaya station which is simple for me. And one more best thing for this hotel is, there's a mini mart link to this hotel and it open till 11 late night. The only thing I'm not satisfy is the wifi. It is very slow and sometime not connecting.

Good, comfortable and convenient ”
I like the buffet breakfast, I like the toilet and I like the air purify machine in the room. It is great staying at Route Inn Asagaya, well maintain and it is more attractive compare with the picture show in web side. All necessary items are provided and we don't need to worry about it. It's only takes about 5 minute to reach the subway ( Minami Asagaya, Metro subway Maruchi line). There's a mini mart at the hotel lobby. Overall, this hotel is worth of money and it located at a quiet place compare to Shinjuku. For sure I will be back for my next visit..
