Beautiful room, good food and great service”
Lovely hotel for a 2 to 3 day getaway. The staff has thought of everything you might need, from the little details like the heated toilet seats (excellent in winter), hot spring bath in the room, delicious complimentary snacks and drinks, and wonderful-smelling Harnn toiletries. The highlight was the set dinner which comes with the booking, which was absolutely delicious (I would recommend it over the buffet dinner, which was good but not as good as the set). However, there's not much to be done around the hotel if you're not the chilling out kind. The hotel has a regular shuttle to the Jiaoxi city but it's mainly filled with eateries and souvenir shops -- we were done checking out the streets in 45 minutes. But if all you want is a relaxing time in a beautiful hotel with excellent service, then Hotel Royal Chiao Hsi is highly recommended.
Relaxing Resort with family”
This was our 3rd visit to Royal Chiao Hsi Hotel in the past 10 years. We visited when our twins were 9 months old, 7 years old and now 10 years old. The hotel staff has always been attentive to our needs and anticipate kids' needs throughout each visit. We've always stayed in the Japanese suit with kids on futon beds. They are super comfortable and cozy, kids love them and I do too. Extra towels are brought in mid afternoon without asking each day. Their staff from house cleaning, DIY, pool and front desk are friendly and professional. They will go above and beyond to make sure your stay is enjoyable and meet your expectation. I love the fact that you can use the hotel facility before the room is available and after check out. The cost of the room definitely has gone up, but the room cost does include breakfast and dinner buffet each day. Their food quality has maintained above average over last 10 years compared to other hotels. After all, we do come back knowing their staff quality is excellent!
Great, personalised service”
We called up the hotel & found that they provided a shuttle bus from Taipei (Chiao Hsi Taipei hotel) for $500 Taiwan dollars per pax. When going up the shuttle, they made it a point to remember which luggage belonged to which guests. Upon arrival at the hotel, the staff also invited us all to take a seat while they checked in for us. This meant that none of the hotel guests had to queue up to check in. They remembered our faces very well for check-in. They even had our luggage brought up directly to our rooms upon check-in. There was also a DVD free-rental service which you could request for the catalogue from the reception counters. Max 2 DVDs allowed each time. We chose 2 movies; 1 in English, 1 in Chinese. As we wanted a fuss-free trip back to Taipei, we also booked the hotel return shuttle back to Taipei. This had to be done at least 1 day in advance beforehand & at $500 Taiwan dollars per pax. There were 2 shuttle timings 11.15am or 2.30pm. We opted for the earlier slot, as we still had other sightseeing to do in Taipei. Hotel check-out was 11am. For those who wanted to continue using the hotel hotspring facilities etc after checking out, they were free to do so.
Great hotel to stay for relaxation. Recommend this for group of friends or family. The staff were friendly and professional. The food quality is above average and with a wide selection of food. The air conditioning for my room either it was too cold when it was turn on or it was hot when it is off. I recommend not to use the spa facilities during peak hours since it would be crowded with people. As for my stay this time it doesn't feel like I am getting much out of what you pay for. My previous stay here at Hotel Royal Chiao Hsi was a much better experience.
Hotel Royal Chiao Hsi”
This is the first time we visited Ilan and stayed at Hotel Royal Chiao Hsi. We enjoyed the stay there, the service were great and people were kind. The Japanese Suite made our stay enjoyable. Dinning was great and the other programs were also very outstanding.
High standard hotel with excellent service”
Superb service Nice, large and clean rooms Spring water hot spa was good and relaxing Good facilities Hotel provides free shuttle to/from Chiao Hsi Train station (call to book in advance)
Good place to relax and enjoy hot spring but does not worth the price”
Good location, it is slightly away from the noisy and crowdy Chiao Hsi downtown and closer to the mountain. Very clean and nice facility. Staff members are just doing their job instead of taking extra good care of you (Don't make you feel warm). Buffet breakfast and dinner is excellent. Room is clean and comfortable. However, the price is too high, given that the service is not excellent and the view from your room is also not 5-star, I think this hotel is overpriced.
Amazing and Beautiful Hotel!”
Beautiful hotel and great service! The scenery surround the hotel is breathtaking! The Air is crispy clean! U dun even feel like u are in Taiwan! its Heaven on Earth! The room are just equally amazing and superb clean, the bed are so comfortable u just feel like sleeping on it after having a great time in the hot spring. The service is great except that it is very crowded and they tends to forget yr orders. I rem once i had some Sake in the lobby and wanted the balance of sake to bring it to my room, while i was waiting for my sake to arrive in my room, to my horror i was told all the service staffs from the lobby bar had went home! Well i still get my sake after waited for more than 30 mins. No apologies from the staffs thou. However, i am still overall please with everything. I went with my mother, as this is our first time in Yilan Jiaosi it is definitely worth it ! I will be back and still stay at this hotel!
We felt like royalty!”
We had an amazing time at Hotel Royal! The service standards from the staff are top notch and we were made to feel very well taken care of from the point of arrival. You can really just stay within the hotel compound throughout the stay as there are so many activities and facilities. But if you are feeling adventurous, you can also venture to the nearby waterfalls and take in the breathtaking view. We left some items behind during check out and the staff were so considerate to mail it back to us. We love everything about Hotel Royal and highly recommend this property!
We booked the smallest room and it was still pretty large in size with a good sized seating area / living room for 2 adults & 1 child with a view overlooking Yilan. The lobby was huge with a generous space to host a range of activities for kids. The pool & hot water baths were lovely. Staff were very friendly. The buffet & set meals were both fantastic. Large gift shops & activities were planned throughout the day by the hotel. The recreation area can get packed at times, but it had a lot of diversity from pool, ping pong for adults and a sand pit for kids. Will definitely return again. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Dear guest, thank you very much for your kind feedback about our team. It was a great pleasure having you with us and we hope that you will return soon for your next visit! Best regards, Hotel Royal Chiaohsi(EOMD)
We really enjoyed our stay with the grandparents and our 2 year old. The buffet was great. ”
It was a great stay. Weather was not great so we spent one full day indoor, there were lots of books and children play area. On the sunny day, we hired a car to take us to meihua lake and some farms. Yilan is so great family trip! I highly recommend this hotel esp if you’re travelling with young child.
Dear Timothy, thank you so much for your lovely words about your recent stay in our hotel. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your days in Yilan and especially with us. We will pass on you compliments to our team who will be delighted to hear that they are doing a good job. Hope to have you with us soon again! Best regards, Hotel Royal Chiaohsi(EOMD)
Good introduction for room service and good restau”
The one of famous hotel on Chiao Hsi but its not my expectation, its not deserved. I supposed the room rate is higher than others. Its nice place and quiet but it seems crowded of people inside and make more noisy. The swimming pool is too small and the facility is not safety for kids.
Branded but dated hotel”
Room is huge but poorly designed. Toilet is so small that a big size guy will have to squeeze in carefully. Bed is on a platform with little walking space on both sides, therefore not friendly for elderly or people with mobility problem. Hotspring tub in room is smaller that many of the other hotels in Jiaoxi. Outdoor spa was disappointing with only a few spa pools and a swimming pool but the environment is very nice and relax. Big buffet breakfast and dinner with many varieties so it is great for people who enjoy food. Dinner time is divided into two time slots. First slot from 5.30pm and second seating at 7.30pm on a first come first serve basis. The Royal bakery is very popular and their breads sell out fast. They sell a macadermia nut nougat candy which is really good and great for gift. On the whole, if you have deep pocket, this place is worth a stay Buffet breakfast and dinner were good with many varieties. Take note that there are two time slots for diinner, from 5

Hotel is v nice contemporary design with Japanese character. Different levels of infinity pool and onsen baths are beautifully laid out with sweeping view of Yilan plain and hills...authentic traditional Japanese onsen GREAT!
Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
we spent two nights in the hotel (sunday and monday night). we found weekend is filled with families with children and our monday stay was very pleasant with only 50% of people we encountered on sunday. we tried the buffet and set dinners, both are great. the breakfast buffet and the japanese breakfast are very good as well, up to 5 stars hotel standard. the hot springs are great, they are comparable to those in japan. the hotel is also full of activities for their customers, young and old. we took the shuttle bus to and from the train stations, the drivers were very polite and helpful. we took the shuttle bus back to taipei main station at the end of the trip, and it only costs us which is the same costs as the train but more comfortable and quicker ( 1 hour vs 1 hr 45 minutes by train). the hostess show us the room also blew us tea while explaining the room features to us. very nice. i would recommend this to friends and come back to visit again.
Perfect family resort with kids”
This was our 3 time staying at the hotel in the last 10 years. Our children were 9 months old on our first visit, 7 years old on our 2nd visit and 10 years old this trip. Each time we find the hotel staff extremely professional and friendly. They always take care excellent care of us. We adults and kids enjoy their DIY projects, game room access, pools and hot springs, and the food. Kids love falling asleep in the most comfortable futon mattresses end of the day. We truly enjoy all the amenities at the hotel and the welcoming staff. During our 2nd visit, I lost my diamond earrings and didn't even know it. We had just left the hotel and on the train home. Housekeeping called and informed me that they found my earrings and as promised I received them in the mail the very next day. I can't thank them enough for their honesty and efficiency of returning lost items.
Nice Hotel and good for relaxing”
Convenience, with Hotel shuttle from Taipei and to Yilan Train station. Lots of programs/entertainment organized by the hotel. Food is nice and staffs are professional.
There were 8 adults and a 14 month baby in our group. We booked 3 Western Suite Mountain View rooms and 1 Japanese Suite Mountain View room. Simply WOW! Both rooms were just so comfortable and luxurious. We loved the private bath tub in the room that allowed us to have our own hot-springs bath in our privacy. We had a lot of fun in the hot-springs park - different types of hot-springs pools but we have to dip in with swim suits. For those who like outdoor baths with no swim suits, there are hot-springs areas in the hotel that are gender-specific. Buffet spread dinner was simply marvelous. We loved the cider vinegar and all the fresh Taiwanese fruits served. The air is so fresh and crisp. We will come back to this hotel when we travel to Taipei. From Taoyuan, we booked a car and drove with the help of a GPS. Took us about 1.5 hours. Drive was very beautiful - mountains, valleys and tunnels.
Best Hotel in Yilan County”
We booked the Japanese Suite Mountain View room. Very comfortable and luxurious. The bed is on the floor, but yet, very easy for us to sleep! Worth the extra money”
Stayed here one night with my mother and elderly grandmother. Hotel room was very clean and well appointed - japanese style room with beautiful mountain view. We enjoyed the ladies private onsen very much. The room charge included dinner and breakfast which were buffet style. Dinner selections were the usual, nothing remarkable but breakfast was much better. Staff were very polite and professional. Beautiful hotel grounds, very spacious and luxurious.
