Smallest single room I’ve ever stayed in but felt quite high end and was a well thoughtout layout. Great shower with fantastic water pressure and a good size. Clean and staff were helpful and friendly. Great price for a location that’s walkable to a lot of sites (provided you like walking).

An elegant and friendly hotel in Paris -- very good value for money”
Hotel St Marcel is indeed a find for anyone who wants an elegant place that represents Parisian sophistication with an understanding too of what it takes to make their clients happy. The entire staff is on a mission to achieve it! and they do... The rooms are impeccably clean;bathroom modern and well-designed; bed is comfortable and the view from the windows are grand period buildings --typical of Paris. Breakfast menu generous and the eating area chic with paintings of Paris and soft music -- ideal for a drink too, from tea and desert to a glass of wine. I did both and I was not disappointed. It is well located for I found getting to Pantheon was only 20 minutes away (and the walk was very pleasant) whilst to Notre Dame was a mere 30 minutes. Closer to the hotel there are the botanical gardens which are amazing. Around the hotel there are iconic French brasserie that know how to cater to your wish for a very reasonable price. In all, I would recommend it with no hesitation!

Beautiful and small Hotel in Paris”
Our stay was more than pleasant. The stuff was very friendly and helpful. Even the hotel owner was there to greet his guests and to have a little talk. The quality of the breakfast was very good and it always looked and tastef fresh. The bedrooms are a bit small, but that was ok. We can imagine staying here again when we are in Paris! Thank you!

Great location , easy to get around the city, clean, quiet neighborhood no problem sleeping. The elevator /lift is possibly the smallest I have ever seen. The rooms are quite small ( hello Paris !) but comfortable; I loved having a balcony.

The breakfast could have more choices , with some cooked produce. The area that the hotel is situated is ok with plenty of resturants and cafe nearby. Close to metro stations. The hotel was very clean and the room had a balcony which was nice. The decoration was a bit dreary - dark grey which made the room seem even smaller. The bathroom was well thought out and the shower was amazing . All the staff are a credit to the hotel - very welcoming and friendly.

This is a great hotel for the price. Centrally located within a 15 min walk of most sights. Grocery store next door and great restaurants nearby. Rooms are small but...... and one of the best showers I’ve ever had in Europe!

Nice hotel ”
The room was nice but like most of europe small. Its fine if you luggage will fit under the bed. It was clean and comfortable and not to loud. Supermarket just down the road and not to far to walk to the train station. If you are up for a walk you can walk to all the major sites in paris. I would stay here again if in paris.

Great neighbourhood and solid value for Paris ”
Beautiful design and great location. Staff very helpful , nice lounge for drinks, dinner and breakfast. Beware small room size, but well designed so lots of space for storage. We enjoyed the pretty balcony where there is room for two to sit. In neighbourhood near Sorrbonne so not filled with tourists and the higher prices that accompanies those services. Instead this is a lovely residential area with lots of Metro stops and many cafes and restaurants offering great value compared to the more popular areas.

Disappointing stay”
Tiny elevator that could not fit 2 normal sized bags with 1 person. The room was spotlessly clean, but so tiny, we had to shuffle around the bed in single file. The first morning , I found the walls were all damp and water was actually trickling down from the ceiling. The staff were very apologetic and immediately moved us to a much nicer, larger room. They said the water was most likely condensation from the hot shower. It is a huge inconvenience that the room is so tiny and so badly ventilated that a 10 minute hot shower causes half the room and your clothes and luggage to become wet. Apart from this issue (which was promptly and politely sorted), we had problems connecting to a fickle wifi. During checkout we had to wait ten min for missing front desk staff. Also, unlike other hotels, luggage storage after check out does not seem very secure. Our bags were kept in an unlocked room which guests had access to. Overall, would not stay there again despite the great location.

Nice hotel, smallish conformable room and excellent shower. Modern functional design. Tiniest elevator I've seen in my life. The staff is very friendly. Reliable Wi-Fi internet access. Short walk to the subway/metro stations. The bus stop right by the hotel. Recommended.

Rude staff ”
While my stay was relatively pleasant, I was shouted at by a staff who said that I treated him like an animal. The staff was shouting over the phone and sounded angry to whoever he was speaking to, and when I "Shhh", he vented his anger at me, not realising that I was staying at his hotel. He walked right in front of my face and confronted me, not once, but twice! I was fearing for my safety, and I called my embassy for assistance, as the staff may know which room I stayed in, and he may turn physically aggressive since, he was already verbally aggressive. I think this hotel must engage in service training. This behavior is uncalled for, and making your customer fearing for her safety is not necessary.
