3- to 4-star infrastructure with 1-star (at most) staff at Reception ”
This hotel has good location in central Guadalajara as most tourist attractions are in walking distance or otherwise conveniently accessible. While some furniture seemed a bit old in my opinion, the building itself is absolutely charming. My standard room was spacious and comfortable, and I enjoyed the flat-screed TV as well as the complimentary bottled water. I also liked the bathroom amenities, and I paid a competitive price for the room. The price included breakfast, and my Agoda voucher clearly indicated this fact. However, the records at Reception contradicted my document - and the hotel did not provide breakfast (which looked quite good, by the way). The Reception staff made no effort at all to resolve the unfortunate situation. Actually, the attitude of complete indifference from the 3 gentlemen at Reception with whom I interacted was consistent from check-in to check-out. In 12 years booking Agoda, this is my first "no" review. Beyond doubt, I won't book here again.

We were very satisfied with that hotel, that hotel has a charm, nice stuff, very nice breakfast, beautiful courtyard, old architecture, old style rooms. I would recommend that for someone who doesn't want to spend so much money and live in nice and spacious room....It' s also good located, right inside a center. Pavel.

Horrible Dishonest Staff”
i booked for one night through agoda but have decided to stay a bit longer in guadalajara...however, I am extremely saddened by the staff there. one hte second day, I checked with the reception explaining if i would to stay another night, will the room be at the same price as agoda ? he confirmed this and said sure..however, when checking out after 4 nights, the guy told me the exchange rate to peso is 12.5 Giving me 12.5 ? I told him the rate for all other money changer is only 11, why would the hotel lose money by giving me this rate ? After confirming it with me and said he is definitely correct,Trusting him, I paid 2400 peso and left my bag at the hotel (to be picked up later for a night bus journey). Through out the day I was thinking, this cannot be right, and indeed it was not, i was quoted in USD48 a night as per agoda, changing the rate at 12.5 would means I am actually paying 56usd a night instead! So when i went back to the hotel to get my bag, i pointed out this mistake. the staff at the hostel said the rate is at 11 and i should not have paid 12.5 and refused to refund me the additional 30 dollars they have overcharged me and ask me to leave. it's not the 30usd but the whole principle of it. i have written a complaint both to agoda and hotel and have yet to received a reply form either! what great customer service! NEVER AGAIN!

It's a nice place, huge, old fashioned room, comfortable bed. The lighting wasn't very good, bedside light didn't go on separately from the overhead light making reading not so pleasant.The breakfast buffet is good, except for bed, American style coffee, and there are no Euro type cafes in the area.
