Hotel Sapana Village Lodge Chitwan
Location invites for relaxing times but manager and staff don't let you enjoy your holiday”
SAPANA Lodget has nice assets and nicely situation at a small river with cushion corner and hammocks. Rooms and clean and comfortable although bathroom are a bit old fashioned. Normally the stay at SAPANA invites for relaxing after Safari and other tours. However manager and staff got extrem pushy and want you all the time to order meals, order canoe tours or order others. Given the comparable high price of the room such behavious doesn't match the standard. That is quite annoying and spoil the time of the stay. Alternatives are round the corner, even with pool. Food was not in particular tasty given the standard of the Lodge (in particular an old croissant fried or better burned in oil served in the morning) nor are many choices offered. It is fine to engage for village development and ecology but you have to leave it to your guests to decide which tour they going to book.
Had a bit of a mix up with the safari timings but loved the resort ...would have loved to spend more time there
Excellent Family Holiday”
We loved our time at Sapana Village Lodge! The whole atmosphere was so relaxing. The rooms were comfortable and my kids begged us not to leave. They loved the play ground and seeing elephants! The staff - from the front office to the restaurant and housekeeping were so kind. My young daughter fell one afternoon while there and five of the staff members ran to help her up and all checked in on her over the next day or so. It was so kind. We will certainly be back for another family holiday!
Excellent experience. Staff were friendly and polite, always smiling. The place was relaxing and beautiful. Suitable for guest who wants a peaceful, close to nature stay. Activities such as elephant safari was great. the family enjoyed the stay there.
They were very helpful and genuinely nice. It’s the best place I’ve ever been to. Romi, the hotel dog sleep with me on my last night. They arrange everything for me and my boyfriend and they’ve exceeded all our high expectations. We loved our stay here and we will definitely come back.
Very good for nature lover”
Nice and beautiful environment
This was the best place I stayed during the 11 days trip around Nepal. It had a great touch of nature to it with a river, elephants walking about, trees etc. The resort manager was very helpful and ensured I was comfortable throughout my stay. He helped me with the jungle safari to book me in with a family which reduced my cost and I was able to do exactly what I wanted to do -full day jeep safari. The chef, Bhim made his special butter chicken masala which is a must try for anyone. One regret-i wish I stayed longer.
Food was excellent. Lovely situation watching elephants walking around and through grounds Basic rooms but comfortable bed Good WiFi and lots of plug sockets
highly recommended. very friendly staff and nice green area. loved sitting at the campfire and watching the birds, oxes and elephants pass by.
comfortable but a little expensive”
good location nice staff
Lovely hotel and staff that run it. The rooms are sizeable and the location is perfect right on the river. We felt at peace once we arrived. Hot water didn't work first 2 nights but was fixed. Wifi is a bit patchy but usually due to electricity cut outs which aren't hotels fault. The hotel, as usual charges a stack of $$ on top of bus tickets, safaris etc so it's worth shopping around if you want to save. They told me that items sold in the hotel shop weren't found in town but they are which I found a bit dishonest. Would I stay there again? Yes, definitely - a little wiser
Beautifully decorated, amazing site”
Very nice rooms with unique paintings in the rooms and beautifull decoration. The hotel's elephant cross every morning and evening to grass in front of your eyes. Magical! Some improvement on the food menu can be done to level up with the rest of the standards, free drop off int he city (u can walk 15min) Nice place to stay!
Spectacular in every way”
5-day stay with my husband and 6 year old daughter (who turned 7 during the stay). I've traveled to many 5-star hotels across Asia for work and Sapana staff were the most attentive I have experienced. The rooms were comfortable with a safari feel and garden a wonderful playground for kids to explore. There are many communal areas and the location of the lodge by the river meant that we saw elephants being washed every day. Despite my daughter's birthday landing on a festival day, staff managed to arrange a lovely cake for her. The lodge takes all feedback seriously and are working hard to create a new experience for their guests that is unique and different to the mass tours provided by others. There are many safari types to choose from and the lodge can tailor something to suit preferences, times, seasons, etc. Despite visiting during the end of the wet season we saw many rhinos, some from a very close distance on foot! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning in the dry season.
Fantastic place to stay for Chitwan national park”
This is a really great hotel in a beautiful location. Even before we arrived, the manager Naran was great at organising transport and offering advice. The activities organised were brilliant and the wildlife guide Abi, was both very knowledgeable and passionate. I would highly recommend Sapana village Lodge.
We honored your visit to Sapana Village and of course your positive review in agoda.com is much appreciated. Thank you very much and we are looking forward to serve you again
Beautiful and peaceful ”
The staff was excellent and always helpful. Everyone does their best so you enjoy your stay. Prakash was a wonderful help for anything we may have needed. The atmosphere, scenery, and peacefulness makes this the best place to stay in Sauraha, and you can still walk to "town."
Charming place in Chitwan”
A beautiful retreat a short walk from the river that feels a world away. Well run with good rooms, restaurant, and tasteful coffee bar. Organise good activities though a bit more expensive are often rewarding as better guides/mahouts. Best way to see animals is to explore on foot
My friend recommending this lodge and i'm really glad we booked it as we had an enjoyable stay. The staff are lovely and attentive and the location is beautiful. A peaceful haven away from all of the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. The rooms were basic but clean and the restaurant had a good selection of food. There are some elephants at the lodge so it was great to watch them bathe in the local lake whilst we had our breakfast. The hotel offers a range of tour options at Chitwan National Park. It is a little pricey for Nepal but the hotel makes up for it with cheap rooms.
good hotel ”
Great location. Beautiful scenery”
Really enjoyed the hotel particularly the family of elephants in the garden! Restaurant food was good but took a little time to cook as everything was fresh. Lovely location with beautiful views. Rooms were clean but fairly basic. The only issue we had was the 'hard sell' by the manager on the activities. We found them to be much cheaper by booking outside.
Nice and quiet location”
Plus: nice and peaceful location near the river Plus: Big room and furnished balcony Minus: Food in the restuarant was not tasty Minus: Many tour buses in this hotel, then very noisy during meal times Minus: each of the two elephants that belong to the hotel was chained on one forefoot and one back foot so that poor animals cannot turn or move at all when not working outside. poor creatures...
