Very comfortable hotel in snowy Aomori”
After multiple nights in a hostel, Hostel Select Inn's private room came as a godsend. I loved having my own bathroom and toilet, including a bathtub! Especially during Aomori's severe winter nothing tops taking a long warm bath. Moreover, breakfast was included, which was both good and unexpected. The kitsch interior of the place is charming; in contrast with the more hip and sterile style of youth hostels, my three night stay at Hotel Select Inn was a nice change of atmosphere.

The location is not far from train station, the breakfast is good but not costly. Only the toilet is a little bit small but it is Japan, most of things are small.

The breakfast selection is quite nice. The hotel is pretty old and the room gets really cold in winter but the blankets make up for it. It has everything you need for a short stay in Aomori. If they give you a room facing the intersection, the view will be a treat.

Great Value for Money”
This has to be the best value for money option, under 10 minutes away from Aomori station, also the morning breakfast that was included was very good, especially given the price paid for accommodation. My local recommendation would be to go and enjoy the Machinaka onsen which is about 100m from the hotel for around 400 yen plus another 300? for towels, which is great during the cold months up north.

Very passionate staff, room is clean, below is 24hrs convenient store, surrounded by great Japanese restaurants at reasonable price. But avoid booking for Single Queen bed as the size is too small even for asian standard.

Reasonable for short stay ”
Acceptable standards considering the low price, but the overall feel of the place wasn’t the most inviting. We only stayed for one night, so the cramped and drab room wasn’t too much of a hindrance, but anything longer and this might not be the best place. It was quite noisy outside the window at night because emergency vehicles went by quite a few times... The bedroom slippers (we used one pair) broke by morning :( On the plus side the staff were friendly and very helpful! I left some maps at the reception desk and when I went back for them the staff had stacked them together neatly and put them aside for me :) also there’s parking available right downstairs, for a reasonable price.

A good budget hotel”
Not right next to Aomori Station, but in walking distance, about 10 mintutes. The check in lobby is on 4th floor, every time the only elevator stops there for security purpose. Waking time could be long if many people are using. Staffs speak good English. Room is small but clean.

Hotel is located in the centre of shops and restaurants, and also within walking distance to the train station and bus centre, where one can get a bus to Aomori airport. However breakfast is a little messy as there was only one staff to do refill, clear dishes, replenish cutlery etc
